When Firefox opens it goes to the FF home page not my home page, home button does go to my home page

I just switched to Firefox 5 now when I open Firefox it opens the Firefox home page not the Road runner home page I use. If I hit home page on the task bar it does go to Road Runner. What do I need to change so opening Firefox opens my home page?

You can start by checking the Home page setting to see if that still links to the Google Home page (http://www.google.com/firefox)
* Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
You can also check the startup setting just above the home page setting.
If the home page setting isn't correct and changing it doesn't last if you close and reopen Firefox then you need to check if the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/prefs.js_file prefs.js] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] isn't corrupted.

When I open E12 to print, the printer settings do not reflect my default printer settings. After I change the settings in E12 and print and close, when I reopen E12 the printer settings are back to what E12 originally decided they were. What am I missing?

Under VIEW, the "hide toolbar" is in bold, so I can not click "view toolbar"

You can check if this problem appears when you start firefox in safe mode [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]] if everything works fine in safe mode that means the problem occurred due to some extensions or themes.
You can try resetting Firefox [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] but be careful resetting firefox will remove your extensions and themes, website-specific preferences, search engines, download history, DOM storage, security settings, download actions, plugin settings, toolbar customizations, user styles and social features

When i open a new tab, the previuos one do not respond. If i close this new tab, the older one works fine again

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Firefox opens a pdf in the browser but I can't save it as a pdf file. How do I save pdf files as pdfs?

When I open pdf files in the browser I do not have a way to save the file as a pdf file on my hard drive. I can only save it as a firefox image file one page at a time. I can't print it either except as individual pages from the image file. When I use the "Save As" icon my only options are to save as a Firefox file. What am I missing? Thanks.

Try this, when I right clicked on the document to rotate the image a noticed a tool bar appeared at the bottom of the page with the save icon. It then disappeared, but by hovering at near the bottom of the document the tool bar appears and I can save the PDF.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Upgraded Firefox is hanging. When Firefox opens none of the bookmakrs are available immediately. They hang for a monent. When opening up a window in an application (i.e., email address search) the window hangs.

Unless the schedule it's running on is every single time I open Firefox (including closing it & reopening it right away), I don't think that's the case. Also, I don't have any of these issues on the PC I switched back to v3.6 on. That one runs smoothly whether I run Ccleaner, registry optimizers, clear the cache & history or whatever. I thought after you first gave me the answer of deleting the session files that they must've got corrupted during the upgrade, but it seems that v4 just doesn't do a good job of retaining or maintaining those files without getting them corrupt or something.
If this is not an issue with everyone & I'm having it on both my PCs, then v4 has an issue with something that I install on my PCs that, I guess, many others don't although I don't know what that could be and I use everything I install or have running. So, I'm just going back to what works without having to dismantle my config one prog at a time to try to find what v4 may be finicky about.
By the way, I did check & couldn't find any cleaners that run automatically on my PCs.

All you have to do is disable the "Cool Previews" add on for firefox. Go to the "Tools" link at the top of the browser, go down to "Add Ons", go to the "Cool Previews", click "Disable". Then restart firefox and it should be fine!

When firefox opens it had Incredimail as the search engine. I disengaged that, now have nothing there, but Incredimail still shows in the upper left by the tool bars. How can I get rid of this and get back a search engine that I want?

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. When I set up an App Tab the original tab and the App Tab are both there when Firefox opens next time. I have tried saving the current tabs, etc but that doesn't help.

I had this problem after I installed an update for Java. Firefox also stopped remembering my open tabs from last time. I disabled all of the Java plug-ins, restarted, and it's worked great ever since. Haven't missed Java yet either.
