When firefox updates, where do my extensions and plugins go

Everytime I customize firefox with the addons and themes i want, i lose it all when the website updates. How can I keep my themes and addons when the browser updates

The green drop down bar for tracker blocking disappeared when Firefox updated today, how do I get it back?

This feature that helps to block ad and social network tracking appeared on the last update, it had a green drop down where I could then get a screen showing the number of tracking that are blocked, not blocked and could block the ones that weren't. Today when Firefox updated it disappeared. I do have the TrackerBlock addon installed, but I found the drop down helpful and would like to get it back.

Sometimes an icon will get removed from the toolbar by another extension. Could you check the Customize dialog to see whether the missing icon is in there? This article has the steps: [[Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars]].

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
If that helps then you most likely have some security software that isn't working properly.

When Firefox updated, I lost all my BOOKMARKS besides my toolbar. Can't express how unhappy bar

When Firefox updated, I lost the toolbar including the link for bookmarks. When I "searched" for Bookmarks it said I had none.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

When firefox updates, I cannot re-open it. It appears in the dock at the bottom, then disappears. I uninstall, re-install, but it does the same.

It opens after initial install of 3.6.8, but as soon as I add the roboform and downthemall add-ins it restarts and won't open again.
I have had these add-ins for awhile without issues, but for the past two days, I have had to reinstall it twice, and this time it won't work.

Jump list vanishes when Firefox updated

Whenever a Firefox update downloads, the jump list that should appear when right-clicking the icon on the Windows 7 taskbar vanishes. It's a pain to then remember what websites were in that jump list in order to re-create it.
Is there any way to avoid losing the jump list when Firefox updates?

also there's weird blank space before address in address bar

sometimes after a update the language of the keyboard changes. with this some letters may be changed (for example y and z)
I think in "settings - general" you can change the keyboard.

I'm running Ver. 17.0.1 on windows 7 and this morning all my extensions and plugins have just dissapeared. Help

Opened Firefox this morning and all addon extensions & plugins including my Roboform password manager are gone. In tools, Addons, extensions and plugins everything is blank. How can this happen? I'm running Windows 7 64bit Enterprise and this version of Firefox automaticly upgraded when it came out and everything was accepted by this version when it installed. It has been running for sometime now.

CS3 extensions and plugins to CS4

I installed Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Fireworks CS4 on my home computer several months ago. When I first ran Extension Manager CS4 it migrated all on the CS3 extensions into the new Extension Manager. But here at my office we just added Adobe eLearning Suite CS4 and the new Extension Manager doesn't seem to recognize that the old CS3 Extension is present.
Am I missing something, or do I now have to re-install all of my extensions and plugins for Dreamweaver and Photoshop? This sucks!!!!!!
My home machine's OS is Vista, the office computer has Windows XP SP3. Is that the problem?

Why does Firefox keep updating when it knows it will not be compatible with extensions and plugins?

firefox now will not let me run videos or my birthday e-cards. i tried all of their solutions as much as i could but am not even vaguely a techie at 61.
why do the insist on updates that render stuff i use daily useless? why do I have delete or downgrade stuff to get things to work? this is total nonsense.
i may leave firefox for anything else given this CONSTANT issues..nearly every update something is now not compatible..folks are not happy, firefox. i know i am not.
ISSUE: videos and e-cards do not work. period. i have downgrade flash and messed with realplayer to no avail.

This is getting complicated. Flash Player problems are not necessarily the only subject of this thread and it is a solved thread so it would be best to open a new question.
The situation changes as new versions of Firefox and FlashPlayer are released, and both have updated within the last few days.
Regarding FlashPlayer problms with Flash 11.3 there appear to be three problems
* Real Player - that is best dealt with as a separate problem - so a first question has to be are you using Real Player and if so does that include video recording/downloading features ?
* Protected mode <br/> Many problems on Windows Firefox relate to the use of protected mode by the Flash Payer 11.3 . Also note this is an issue only affecting recent Windows OS s .
*Protected mode setting <br/> it is possible to set this or unset it manually, it is also possible for installers to set or unset this so not only the version, but where you obtain it and what the installer is can make a difference.
The security level of these versions also needs considering, remember protected mode is itself a security enhancement.

Updated to the new firefox 4.0. completely screwed up comp. Had to pay to have an old firefox reinstalled, trying to uninstall extensions and add ons but am unable to do it from the add ons and extension screen. need help

I've restarted firefox several times but the addons and extensions are still there with the options of disabling or uninstalling available for selection. All extensions and addons worked just fine before upgrading to 4.0. Am really frustrated and disappointed with Mozilla Firefox because of this situation.
