When getting email from google mail, I am missing many emails which I can see on my desk top. I get the last 7 days of emails, then I miss two months of emails, then I get month 4-6. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.
When I try to view my google email on my iphoine 4s i get the most recent emails and the very old emails, but the ones inbetween are missing. Is there a fix.
yes all emails are in the web based gmail. I have not deleted the account. I forgot to mention that it has been working on my iphone for over 2 years quite well and while I was giving access to the same gmail account to my wifes new iphone when this happend. It changed both the emails on my existing phone and my wifes new phone.

I copied several MOV files to a CD. When I play them from the CD the video is fine but the audio works fine for the first few seconds then stops (using Qicktime Player 7.7.1. Everything works fine if I use VLC Media Player. Does anyone have any idea why?
My purpose for copying to a CD or DVD is so that I can make copies and send to friends and relatives. What is the best way to get these files on a CD/DVD with the right codecs?
The easiest thing to do is to simply tell your friends and relatives to copy the files to their local hard drive before playing them. Your basic problem is that data discs have a limited real time transfer rate. Since you say VLC plays the files fine, I might suspect its player is likely buffering the data while the QT 7 Player is not.
Data discs made for playback directly from the CD or DVD are normally encoded using MPEG-4/AVC (H.264) video with AAC audio. This is a modern codec which has specific settings to re-package the data (i.e., must be encoded using the multipass option and then select the "optimize for CD/DVD" option). -
Time Machine will not let me restore from backups after June, 2013. I can see the files on the external hard drive but Time Machine skips all of them and goes back to June, 2013. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Exposé just stopped working, both the key on the keyboard and the multitouch gesture gets no response. Does anyone have any idea why, or how to solve it?
I found a way to fix it. Simply restart the dock by using "killall Dock" in the terminal.

some excel items have appeared on my desktop and they cannot be deleted, does anyone have any idea on this?
Hi, cannot drag to trash, get a message saying the item cant be moved to trash because it cant be deleted. I really dont know what theses are. The icon shows as excel but they are certainly not filenames I have used. I cant open them either and they dont show in finder under desktop but they are clearly sitting there!

Does anyone have any idea why Facebook on my ipad is lagging badly, I have closed down all other apps and nothing helps.
As long as your pad isn't doing other things,( and you have already shut off everything else..) then the issue is in the connection from you to whoever you are talking to. How good is your wifi speed? And the person at the other end. There are a lot of transfers of the signal from you to them, and you are sort of at the mercy of all the spots in between.
Do a speedtest to test your speed, and maybe give the call a try from a different place, like a Starbucks ( as long as their connection is not throttled) -

I have tried 6 times to download itunes on my 64bit lap top. I keep getting error messages, and I have disabled the pop up blockers still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Magic Jack: Does anyone have any idea if this will work on OS X 10.4.10?
Hi, I got a magic jack internet phone thingie but I have not been able to get it to work with my iMac. The OS keeps giving me this message "does not recognize this device."
I removed Skype in an effort to get it to work, but still no dice. Has anyone had success with Magic Jack and their iMac (on OS X 10.4.10)?
p.s. the support at Magic Jack is useless- I already tried that avenue...

By the way, my Imac had two "core panics" using Magic Jack.... but.... I have not yet downloaded the software using a windows machine... if I ask a friend to use their computer to do this I am worried it might cause a problem on their machine.
The Magic Jack worked on my computer until just short of 1 month. But then I tried to make international calls (they drop off when then person picks up at the other end!) and then suddenly my mac gave me the "grey curtain and 4 languange message you need to reboot your computer"
Has anyone made international calls successfully with the Imac version?
Also they say no blue tooth available yet for Macs. Any idea when that will be available?
I called tech assistance and they talked me through it and i reinstalled my system.... tried it again and once more lock up.... so I am nervous about it .... would like to download the mac upgrade using a windows system but nervous about that too.

Next thing is to log in to another account or create one and see if this happens there or not. If it doesn't, don't delete your regular account, this is only for troubleshooting.

Does anyone have any idea why various functions in CC 2014 on Mac would just stop working?
I'm working away and all of a sudden Place won't work. Or update links, or duplicate etc. and from that point on, whilst I can still manually move things about I can't do much else and have to restart Illustrator.
It's a clean install on a MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite.I'm using RDC 2.1.1 on a Macbook Air 11.6 and multiple monitors (Dell 19" + internal).
I use RDC when on location at a client's site. I recently changed from a 13" Aluminum Macbook with Snow Leopard (latest) to the MBA running Lion.
I think I re-installed the RDC app from a web download.
It works pretty well most of the time. About 2 or 3 times a day I have to shut it down and re-start it.
Symptom? It seems to freeze. Usually when it "freezes" I can Command+Tab to another screen and wait for a few seconds and then it begins to work again.
I also installed CoRD Version 0.5.5 (5500) which works without error. If you cannot get RDC running, try CoRD. The Function Key mapping is not quite as cool as RDC but it is a strong app.

Settings >> Mail, Contacts. Calendars >> Organise by Thread. Switch to OFF to see every individual email in the Inbox.
