When HP Envy is tilted audio freaks out

Hello! I have a HP Envy m6 Notebook PC (m6-n012dx) and I just got it a few days ago from best buy. Before I delve into my issues, I have updated all the drivers of the computer that it's telling me to.
So after I'm on it for awhile, and if I'm listening to music, the audio will freak out and start creating a kinda screeching noise. I thought this might be from overheating (as the laptop keeps getting pretty warm in a smaller amount of time than I think it should, even after updating drivers). It was doing that before I updated the drivers and the laptop was quite warm.
However today I was on it and the laptop was relatively cool and the audio still freaked out with the same noises. I don't know what to do.
This has happened three times with headphones and once without by the way, so it doesn't seem to be just my headphones or something. Also when it happens the computers performance seems to slow down; I usually just close the laptop for several minutes and then get back on and everything seems fine.
It might be worth noting too that I was playing a game, with all the game's audio turned off, with the music on. A friend suggested turning Beats Audio's multistreaming option off. I don't know if that will help or anything though.

FCP audio freak out

hey folks -
fcp SUDDENLY lost audio and started dropping frames like mad
clicked into the viewer the audio plays with a huge delay and slowly - way off the wave forms -
I've tried reconnecting media, trashing prefs, rebooting, getting latest update, playing with all the parameters and settings
the original files on hard drive are ok and play fine in Quicktime
the video plays alone fine when I copy it into a new timeline
this problem affects all projects the same, even old ones that I open
so it seems it's the audio in fcp...
anyone have an idea what this could be?

But it gets weirder - ONE project opens Final Cut perfectly - then all others run fine (I sitll had to reconnect a lot of media). If I don't open that project first, I have the audio problem. SOMETHING is off, but I don't know what...I have taken screen shots and compared all the settings in various projects. Kind of annoying - I have to use the one good project to open FCP and then everything is fine...I can then close it and everything still works fine. But I can't launch from any project but that one!

Video Playback Option in "Preferences/Audio-Video Out"

A new option was added to the Preferences menu of version 2.0 of Adobe Encore DVD. When you select Edit > Preferences > Audio/Video Out, you see an Automatic option in the Video Playback section. This option is selected by default, allowing Encore DVD 2.0 to play video in a Standard Direct3D mode. If the feature is not selected, then video playback will be in GDI mode.
The only reason to deselect this option is in the case of poor preview playback or black video. In order for the change in preference to take effect, you must close the Monitor panel and then reopen it.
Background information
Encore DVD 2.0 (unlike previous versions of Encore DVD) uses the Premiere Pro playback engine for video playback. Premiere Pro has three Desktop Display modes: Compatible, Standard, and Accelerated GPU Effects. In Compatible mode, video is played using the GDI. In Standard mode, video is played using Direct 3D. In Accelerated mode, video is played using Direct 3D with GPU.
The default setting for Encore DVD 2.0 is comparable to Premiere Pro's Standard mode (Direct 3D). When the Automatic option is deselected, it is comparable to Premiere Pro's Compatible mode (GDI).
If Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 detects a Direct 3D error when previewing in Standard mode, it switches to Compatible mode. Encore DVD 2.0 does not have this capability, nor does it provide the same option in the User Interface for the user to switch between the three display modes. This is why the Automatic option was included in the Audio/Video Out preferences.

Welcome to iMovie Discussions.
Sounds like you've been shooting at p ("progressive") frame rate (..24p or similar).
iMovie can't handle that (..except for JVC's 720p footage..) and it thinks that each frame is a "field" (..half a frame). It therefore plays those frames at double speed, thinking that there should be two 'fields' to a single frame.
Did you shoot at a "p" frame-rate..? If so, you'll need to convert the material, with some other program, so that iMovie can handle it.
I can't remember offhand what software might do this, but if you were shooting in HDV hi-def (which is recorded in the camera using the MPEG-2 video system) you may be able to use MPEG Streamclip (click on that blue link) to "unscramble" your material.

Premiere Pro CC & New Mac Pro - Audio Line Out Issue

I'm having a few issues with the audio line out on the new Mac Pro. For some reason, Line Out locks into Premiere Pro. When I switch programs, the audio line out device stays locked to Premiere Pro and the only way to get other programs to be able to output audio when Premiere Pro is not current application, is to go into System Preferences > Sound and click onto an alternative output and then click back onto Line Out.

HELP- Audio is freaking out in export when it sounds fine/looks fine in Sequence!

My project sounds fine while editing, but once I export, towards the end of my project the audio is freaking out in levels. It will be loud at one point and then quiet at another all in a matter of 20 seconds. I originally had mp3 tracks but I switched all to AIF so I can't seem to find the problem. Please help!

When you swtiched audio formats did you go through compressor or just render in the timeline.

HELP! Audio Drops Out When Trying to Capture Canon XL2 Footage

Please help me out here. I'm a freelance camera operator w/ a Canon XL2 and several times now I've gotten calls from the editors saying they're having problems logging my footage, mainly the audio drops out quite a bit, and I'm not talking bout one second for every 2 or 3 minutes. No. It's like every 10 seconds the audio drops in and out.
What's the deal? Two times the guy was using a Panasonic DVX-100A to capture, another time it was a SONY DSR mini-DV deck. With each incident I had to go over with my XL2 and use it as the capture device, which is a pain.
The program they're using is FCP HD or 5. But I think even when they just play the tape in their Sony or Pany cameras, the audio may still suck.
Help me out here, I can't be the only one with this problem.

Well Robert Swanson, I hope my post wasn't taken offensively, it certainly wasn't meant as such. The only Canon camcorder I owned was the GL1. After switching to Sony's I can honestly say it would take something significant to go back. And, I was merely relating my experiences in trying to capture from other Canon camcorders so that I know where you are coming from. However, I am interested in the HVX being the "noisest" camera on the market. I am seriously considering this camera and would be interested in a review that points this out. I would be using the hard drive recorder instead of P2 cards.

In logic Pro, when I open up an audio track and load an audio file, there is no sound. I will finally get a sound out of one of the audio tracks after opening at least 5 of them alternately. Is anyone familiar with this kind of bug? It's really frustratin

I'm not sure I follow your words Fuzzynormal. You've helped by offering the insight that my issue in Logic Pro 9 is not a bug but a feature. But fell short of enlightenment by being a judge of character and of how one should interact in this forum. You insinuate that I haven't tried to solve the issue on my own when in fact I have. These forums are always my last resort. You further suggest that I am complaining. This is not a complaint. It is a genuine issue that I cannot figure out. Then you think that Brazeca is holding my hand and being a nice guy. Brazeca is helping people like me who might not be as adept at using Logic Pro as probably you are.This community forum was established to raise questions, answers and dicussion to help Apple's customers better undertand their operating systems and related issues. You are doing a disservice by not contributing positively and by trying to make this forum what you want it to be. You may have all the time in the world to try figuring out stuff but we are not all like you. We all have different schedules and different levels of understanding. And that is what this forum is for - to help people move forward. If you can't contribute positively then keep silent. [N97 mini] phone freaks out when I want to pick up...

Is there some sort of workaround, tweak or app available that can prevent my phone from freaking out when I want to receive a phone call? It is simply impossible to see who is calling because the display will not display anything for a few seconds when it's rotated. It is also not possible to use the slider keys to pick up or decline the call. Is there some way to prevent the display from rotating without disabling auto rotating all together?

3. iTunes prefs > Devices > Prevent .... from syncing automatically
4. With iTunes open, connect phone
5. iTunes Menu > File > Devices > Transfer Purchases
6. iTunes Menu > File > Devices > Backup
Now safe to sync. You will lose any music/media on the phone that was NOT purchased from the iTunes Store (i.e. ripped CD's, MP3's from other sources)

Audio drops out when following video to external monitor

When I play a sequence to an external monitor, the audio drops out for 2 to 3 seconds after changes on the video track, and then pops back in with no interuption in video output. It doesn't happen at every cut, but it's consistent in the places it does. I thought it might be caused by the size the project has become. So I exported the sequence as a quicktime file, closed the lage project, opened a new one and exported the new file and played it and it happened again, even though there were no edits. It doesn't occur at all when I turn off external video, and play it on the computer. I connected a new firewire from the computer to my DV deck, restarted the computer, but it keeps happening.
Is it that the dramatic change in color, light and compostion crowding out the audios ability to follow the video through the wire?
I'm completely stumped. The next step will be to open the computer and try to blow any excess dust out. I do this periodically anyway, and my last time was two months ago, so I'd be surprised if it works.
Maybe the G4 with 2G processing power can no longer handle the program, but it shows no sign of stuggle in any other way.
My clients are starting to grow restless.

Thank you so much X & Paul, for your suggestions. Although they didn't solve the problem, they kept me hopeful enough to continue my quest for an answer. After exhausting all effort to find the problem in the audio, I decided to focus on the video. So, I tried correcting the excess luma on the consolidated QT movie, and suddenly the problem was fixed. Because of the different levels of correction I'd need for each and every cut in the original sequence, and the precious time it would take, I'd planned to save it for the color correction stage, a mere 2 weeks away. I remembered how illegal white would often cause the image on some monitors, specifically consumer TVs, to waver for a second. But this was happening all the way back to the DV deck's audio meter, so I never expected it to be a luma issue.
I assume that the outdating capacity of my G4 played a part, but I wanted to write back with my thanks, and to impart my illuminated wisdom to the next perplexed soul.

Audio goes out of sync when i open project on diff macs

i have an iMovie project created on an iMac saved to an external.
I go to open the project up on my macbook and the audio is out of sync.
I go back to my iMac with the same project and it works just fine.
I'm a bit confused because both macs use Mac OS X 10.6.4 and iMovie 8.0.6
what other differences might there be?
any input is appreciated as I'd love to work on projects while out in the field!

Try exporting the iMovie project as a single full quality dv format quicktime file.
I use iMovie6 HD and this is my usual procedure that works well.
Make the movie in iMovie, will involve many separate clips. When finished, export (share) as a single full quality dv format quick time file. When I have an hours worth of smaller projects, I create a new iMovie project and import all of the quicktime .dv files for each separate short project. I add chapter markers in this project, then share with iDVD. I then burn an hours worth of stuff at best quality and distribute to family and friends.
iDVD seems to work better with iMovie source that has fewer clips.
BTW: Are you having problems with standard def or hi def iMovie source. Another part of my procedure is that I take the raw tapes and download the entire thing into one iMovie project. I don't edit or change the footage at all, just want to archive to DVD for posterity. In this case, I want to share the iMovie project with iDVD directly. This has worked OK for standard def projects, but my first hi def project (1080i) that I tried, the sound was out of sync. To fix this, I had to create a regular DV widescreen iMovie project, and drag all the clips into it from the HD project. It took over an hour for my humble mac mini to convert the files, but I was then able to share with iDVD and the finished DVD worked ok.

Why does my audio slip out of sync when exporting?

I am exporting an HD edited video. I shot 1280x720 & editing in FCP 6.0.5. I am using APPLE PRO RES 422 1280x720 30fps 48kz . Should it be (HQ)?? - I do not select re-compress all frames or make self-contained. I just want a QT reference file to view and then burn a DVD. My clip is 43 minutes long. HOWEVER, the audio drifts out of sync BIG TIME. Why is that??
Here are my sequence settings:
1280x720 Aspect Ratio HDTV 720p (16:9)
Square Pixels
H.264
Audio at 48kHz

That's what I thought, however, when I play back the .mov file after exporting using "current settings", that's when I experience OUT OF SYNC audio. Do I ignore that and drag and drop that file into iDVD and let iDVD crunch it??? Is it just the playback of that .mov file that is out of sync?

When I use media manager to upres clip audio goes out of sync

I captured a clip and put it in DVNTSC 48kHz timeline at OfflineRT NTSC (Photo JPEG) then used the media manager to create a new sequence at full DV NTSC 48kHz res. I choose "Create offline", "set sequences to DV NTSC 48 kHz", and check all the boxes. I save a new project, open the new timeline and recapture the clip. The video looks great--it recaptures in full DVNTSC 48kHz res. But the audio is out of sync (by about 28 frames it looks like). What am I doing wrong? (This is the first time I'm trying this offline-then-online-process.) thanks.

Audio is out of sync when placed in the timeline!!!

When I play a clip in the viewer, everything is fine, but when the clip is placed into the timeline and played in the canvas, the audio is out of sync by about half a second. I noticed that even when I view the sound waves, what I hear does not match up with where the playhead is. This is extremely frustrating and I have currently resulted to physically moving the audio to match it up, something that I do not want to do for the duration of my film.
I read in another post that the video and the audio could not be at the same level. How can you tell if the video and audio are at the same level??
I have FCE 3.5 if that makes any difference. Any help would be much appreciated!

How was this clip imported? If it was captured/ingested, did you make sure that the sample rate of the capture settings matched the sample rate of your audio? Normally FCE will give you a warning if they don't match, but it can't hurt to make sure.

When I render a .wmv video into h.264 the audio is out of sync?

I need help T_T because in my other question that I posted recently this was my only solution so far but now whenever I render it the audio is out of sync now. This problem just recently started occuring and I don't know why? Thanks for the help!
