When I add a stroke, it moves the shape

When I add a stroke to a shape in AI it shifts the position of the shape down and to the left little by little with each level of stroke thickness that I add. Very odd and knocking off my alignment of objects. Thoughts?

sounds odder than normal, but possibly select your object and see if 'align to pixel grid' is on in the transform palette

How do I add a stroke to only the outside of a shape?

I'm trying to add a stroke to a logo for my company. It's basically similar to the shape of a donut so there is an open area the shape of a circle in the middle of the logo. When I add a stroke, it adds it to the outside of the logo, but also in that circle too. I only need the outside stroke. Is there a way to do just that? Using Photoshop CS6.

So, there's more to this logo, but here's the shape to which i've been referring. Long story short, the only way I have this is all in one layer. So I'm trying to put a stroke around the outside of the black without there being one in the inner circle and then removing the black color while leaving the gray. Is that possible if it's all one layer?

Just for those who are interested, this is what cleared the "bookmark menu" trbl I had.
Open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Bookmarks, then reselect it.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try a bookmark again.

You can never, never transfer an installed copy of PSE. It's just too complex and it strews stuff all over your hard drive in places the migration assistant is not programmed to look. Now you will need to download and run this:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
after which you can go around and manually remove all the bits from Applications, the library at the top level of your hard drive>application support>adobe, and your username>library>preferences. Spotlight will not help with this; it's programmed to skip these kinds of files.
Then you can reinstall from scratch. Let us know if you need help finding the library folders.

There were some reports a while ago about screen covers/cases interferring with the proximity sensor. If you remove those (if you have them) and the screen is clean and you still have the problem, it may be a defective proximity sensor.

I suggest you install the "Add Bookmark to Here2" extension, then you can expand the the list but you will not see the bookmark itself in the list if that is what you wanted. At the top you have three major folders you can select one of them and scroll up and down. Below that you have your most recently used folders and you can select one of them instead and scroll up and down. You can see the folder the bookmark is in -- they get added to the bottom
If you really want to see the bookmark within the folder the same extension allows you to bring the bookmark to the folder from say the bookmarks sidebar that is why it is named as such. I use it but mainly i use the dialog.

If you are not using tags at all, you can remove a whole lot of confusion by removing them from the dialog via the extension.

In earlier versions of iMovie you can also do this using Quicktime Pro 7:
Open MOV file in QT Pro (QT 7.6.6)
Window -> Show Movie Properties
select "Video Track"
select "Visual Settings" from lower window
check "Preserve Aspect Ratio"
Click on appropriate rotation icon (MOV rotates!)
Click back on the open MOV in Player Window
FILE -> Save

If you have placed the image in Muse using File > Place and then scaled the image down in Muse while editing, then Muse publishes/exports the scaled down/optimized image in final output. When using as a Fill, the output size depends on the Fitting option you setup in the Fill options.
As for the contact form email, you would need to specify the email address for each form individually. There is no workflow to edit the same for multiple forms at a time.

How to make a stroke part of the shape

One of the letters (S) on a logo I am working on doesn't look the right thickness alongside the other letters - there isnt a bolder version available so I have added a small stroke to make it visually balanced (text is converted to outlines). I would now like to make that stroke part of the shape (ie no separate stroke, but thickness of the letter with the stroke). I'm sure I've come across how to do this before, but cant seem to find it now... can you help? Many thanks.

how is that different to just adding a stroke the normal way?
It is only in the sense that it may be done with a single letter in Live Type, thus enabling individual changes of appearance of letters and still allowing your editing everything (the/each special letter must be selected by itself, and then you can type in one or more replacement letters with the same appearance).
I just thought I should mention it, in case it might be preferable.

When I add a title in iMovie, the last title disappears

Using iMovie 10.0.5 on a Retina 15" running 10.9.5, I have added a series of titles (lyrics) over a music video. Now, suddenly, when I add the next one, the previous one I added disappears. It does allow me to add the new one, which is the sixth or seventh one in the video, each with only a few words. Then, when I add another, the last one disappears again. I am ripping out the last of my hair.
All I have to do is drag the transition over the tracks area and the new one is gone. If I move on past the tracks area, dragging the new transition over the border, as it were, the previous one reappears.
Is there a maximum number of titles that can be added over a video?

What does it mean when things load only if I move the mouse?

Well, sometimes after a prolonged session the web doesn't load unless I move my mouse around a bit.
For instance,
I click a link to something, the tab icon shows a sign of loading for about half a second and then it just stops.
If I move the cursor with the mouse (or trackpad), the loading continues and finishes.
This problem resolves itself when I restart Firefox, but I still want to know its cause and how I can prevent it.
I don't know what to make of this, and the circumstances are odd enough that Google is not helping me figure this out for myself. So I'd like to know if anyone can help me out.

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

When I add a row, I lose the formula!

I made a simple check register spreadsheet a year ago & when I run out of rows I add more rows by dragging the handle in the lower right of the spreadsheet DOWN. I can also click the handle with the number of the row in the lower left to add just one more row. Or I can select the lower right cell (account balance) & hit enter & it created one more row.
None of these methods preserve my formula! I could swear that dragging the lower right handle in the past has preserved the formula.
What am I doing wrong?

...and the difference is what's preventing the formula from being automatically filled into new rows.

Yes it does. Your solution was clearly described, and with one formula in column G that's different from the rest, it's also the most efficient one available.
BTW, I wish I could force column B to order the entries by date as sometimes I will 1st enter today's date & then next row I enter yesterday’s date, etc
What messes up sorts is the references to specific cells in the formulas. If you can replace those with references to the appropriate cells wherever the formula actually winds up, the problem is solved.
Two tools that numbers provides that help with this are
1. the ability to reference a cell in the same row using only its column reference
2. the OFFSET function.
Both are used in the example below. The table on the left is a snapshot after data was entered, and before the table was sorted. The one on the right shows the same table after sorting the selected rows.
You'll note that I added a second Header row to allow space for the beginning balance to be placed in a header row on this table. That's to make it possible to have the same formula in every non-header row of column G so that the formula will be automatically entered into new rows as they are added.
Your formula will still work in the first non-header row, should you choose not to make this modification (Just enter the formula below into the row below that and fill down to the bottom row), but I would caution you to not include this first body row in any sort in that case.
Here's the formula in G3 of the example (and filled down to every row below that):
=IF(AND(ISBLANK(E),ISBLANK(F)),"",OFFSET($A$1,ROW()-2,6)-OFFSET($A$1,ROW()-1,4)+ OFFSET($A$1,ROW()-1,5))
Note that the first references to E and F omit the row numbers, and the references to the previous balance, debit and credit cells are through an offset from cell A1.

It works but it runs very slowly (about 1 sec for each iteration). I think I had put the while loop at a wrong position, which makes the vi run from the very beginning in each iteration. So I really want to know where should I put the while loop to improve the speed? I have attached all the vi and subvi.

Thank you for posting this to the discussion forums and for uploading some sample code. I took a lok at the issue you have been having, and it is unclear to me as to why you have placed two for loops around the original while loop. My understanding is that you want to use the original Sample.vi and want to execute this N times where N is the Max Freq divided by Interval so that you can scan for a range of frequencies.
Why not just put Sample.vi around one for loop and use the increment counter scaled by the interval to count up towards Max Freq and insert the desired Frequency into the cluster using Bundle By Name?

How do I know which add-ons have been validated as safe? When clicking "Add to Firefox" I get the scary warning window about only using add-ons from trusted

The scary warning that appears when I click "Add to Firefox" for a certain add-on discourages me from actually installing it.
"Install add-ons only from authors whom you trust. Malicious software can damage your computer or violate your privacy . . . (author not verified)"
In particular, I'm interested in the Password Exporter add-on. I want to be especially cautious as this will access all my passwords stored in Firefox. How do I actually know if an add-on is safe or not?

If you are talking about "Password Exporter 1.2.1", it's safe as I have been using that add-on for years and love it.
