When I am on internet explorer and a pop up come up on firefox, this is a college class and it won't work on firefox

I am starting college classes online and one of my classes has to be on internet explorer only. When the pop up for my class come up it on firefox instead on internet explorer. It has to open on internet explorer only
== this happen ever time the pop up come up

A solution could be the Firefox [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/92382/ IE Tab 2] extension - this opens certain pages in an Internet Explorer window within Firefox or open links in IE directly from Firefox. If you know (part of) the domain for those online college classes, you can set IE Tab 2 to automatically open those using the IE engine instead of Firefox - this is what I do for my own netbanking solution out of necessity.

Hello. I have windows xp. When using Firefox as my home page, I get awful screen interference of lines verticle and horizontal. When I switch to Internet Explorer I don't get them. I want to keep Firefox as server.

Here is something that you can try:
    # Click on Tools and then click Options.
    # Select the Advanced panel
    # Select the General tab
    # Uncheck Use hardware acceleration where available.
    # Click File and then click Exit.
    # Start Firefox normally.
Once you have followed those steps, you'll want to follow these as well and see if the lines are gone.
Click the Help menu and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
Let me know if this has eliminated the problem.

    Internet Explorer
    Downstream Upstream
    ~ 87Mbit/s ~ 75 Mbit/s
The conetcion is fibre cabel and the supplier guarantees 60 - 100Mbit/s
I shall bee gratefull if I can solve this and continou to use Firefox. Iam othervise very satesfide with Firefox

Poor performance in Flash-based speed tests can be related to add-on conflicts and certain Flash features. If you have not already tried these:
    (1) Disable protected mode (Win Vista and Win 7 only)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

  • PDF's in Acrobat Reader X will not open when using the browser, Internet explorer opertes all ok? Mozella 4 is the default browser! Windows XP Home ed with all latest updates!

When using the Mozella Firefox 4 browser and the NEW version Adobe Reader X, PDF's online will not ever open. After 1-3 minuites, I eventually get a message the Adobe reader is running, but need to close and try again! I get same results when trying again.
Internet Explorer operates and opens the online PDF's all ok and the Adobe Reader X seems to operate all else ok!
I think, but not sure, that this issue appeared when the Adobe Reader updated from the older version 9 or so to the NEW Adobe Reader X version about 1 or 2 weeks ago, but not sure. I just remember that Mozella always worked ok previously to the Adobe Reader X version for opening online PDF's last month, etc.
Note that I said that Internet Explorer browser operates ok Using the New automatically upgraded Adobe Reader X for viewing PDF"S! (adobe notified me that the new version 10 (X) was available for updating, etc) I also just discovered that google chrome browser opens the online PDF's ok!
I have not trying re-storing the computer to the previous month, etc, since the issue seems to be with Mozella not liking the Adobe Reader X version and Internet Explored browser operating ok!
    Any ideas????

I had the same problem and my solution was to disable the PDF extension that came with Firefox 4 which belongs to another company. I found out that it wast interfering with ReaderX. I unabled it and restarted Firefox. I have had no problems since then. Go to Tools, Add-On and click on Extensions and disable the PDF extension. I hope this helps

  • Scripting error when using 64 bit internet explorer

Could you please give me a solution to the following:
Laptop  HP Pavillion dv7-3112sa  Windows 7
    Printer  HP Photosmart B209
Wireless connection Netgear DGND 3300 v2
When I use internet explorer 64 bit and try to print, I get a message "Scripting Error" and it will not print.
This is OK on 32 bit.
I cannot update my HP software because I lose wireless communications altogether and have to do a restore to get it to work again.
    This question was solved.

Scripting errors are related to how the website behaves with a browser.
In this case, it is printing script that is having an issue and it appears to be with the 64bit Internet Explorer since it works fine with Internet Explorer 32bit.
Review this article from Microsoft regarding this issue.
You have already found the best resolution to this issue:  Using 32bit Internet Explorer.
64bit web browsing is still a very small portion of web sites and very few fully support the 64bit browsing experience.  I highly recommend using a 32bit web browser for viewing websites as this will give you the best compatibility as every website still supports 32bit browsing, but not all sites are fully compatible with 64bit browsers.

  • Why can't i open an attached document (most often pps) with firefox when i can with internet explorer?

why can't i open an attached document (most often pps) with firefox when i can with internet explorer?

Perhaps if you change your setting here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Applications tab
In the search box, type '''power''' and then pause until the list is filtered. If you have these, try changing the action to "Always Ask":
    Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation<br>
    Microsoft PowerPoint Slide Show
It's possible that if you don't have Microsoft Office installed, you might not have those listed.

  • With Yahoo! Mail attachments are put together in zip format I can't open, but when I switch to Internet Explorer these same attachments open easily as Word or PDF files; how cn I fix?

Two recent emails (Yahoo! Mail) each contained multiple attachments which were presented to me as zip files which were in a format that my computer could neither open or convert to files I could open. One was two Word documents; the other was five one-page PDFs. I tried with Firefox on two different computers with same results. When I switched to Internet Explorer, I was able to open the attachments each as separate Word or PDF files, with no trouble. Am I doing something wrong?

instead of writing such an essay, you could have explained better what you tried to do to get them.

  • Print Preview missing when PDF opened through Internet Explorer

No preview - no option to print. This is now affecting 4 of my computers so I'm assuming there is an update that is causing this.  It is effecting different versions.  One computer has Internet Explorer 9 and Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.0.  Another computer is running Internet Explorer 10 and Adobe Reader 9.  Both are having the same symtoms.  Here is an illustration.
Normally it says "Preview - Image", also notice the xxx on the bottom of the preview and to the bottom left of the dialog box.  If I save the PDF and open it directly (outside of Internet Explorer) it works find.  Also using Firefox it works fine.  I believe its an update because its happened on 4 machines so I don't think its from someone changing settings.  What do I need to do to Print?  Help.
    Thanks,

I very much doubt that this is the way things are meant to work. If I open the pdf in Safari and rightclick>open it with skim, Skim displays the proxy icon, as Preview used to.
Btw, the file's path still points to a tmp folder (webkitpdfs)
So this is either a bug in Safari or Preview (because it impairs functionality), or, hopefully, there's some hidden preference somewhere which you can change and reactivate the proxy icon.
Have you verified this as a Safari bug by checking that it works with FireFox?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You must have a valid form of payment for the app store in the country you are using. Most app stores are separate legal entities to comply with local laws. It is possible to have an account without a credit card, however; see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534

  • I need Internet Explorer for my MBP.  How can I get this?

I need Internet Explorer for my MBP.  How can I get this?

You can't — at least not if you want to run it in the Mac OS. If you have Winidows installed on your Mac, then of course you can run the Windows version of IE, but the Mac version hasn't been updated since June 2003 and is unsupported by Microsoft. It's very insecure, it can't handle a lot of current web sites, and it may not run at all in recent OS X versions. It was lousy in 2003, and it can't have gotten any better while the world was passing it by.
If there's a web site you want to access that says it requires IE, complain to its webmaster about the benighted design of the site. No responsible web designer codes sites for just one browser any more. Every web site should be tested and should work well with a large variety of browsers — IE, Firefox and Chrome at a bare minimum — and every site owner should insist that their designer(s) adhere to that "best practice."

I hope you can help me.  I purchased adobe captivate 8 on line and when I click on the email link to download, it comes up with 7 programs, some are 64 bit and some are not, my computer is 32 bit.  I am not sure which of these 7 to download?  All or just the 4 non 64 bit?

I tracked down the problem with the download and installation, my windows 7 was missing a file and after reinstalling windows everything worked out.  The first 32 bit program in their list was used.  I hope this can help others.

What does it mean when I log into Facebook and a pop-up comes out saying "[JavaScript Application] Error: jQuery("#fb_menu_account a", document).attr("href") is undefined"? I would like to know what I can do to fix this. The site ends-up running slow. I have tried clearing the cookies and cache, but that doesn't work.

Does is still happen in Firefox Safe Mode. See [[Safe Mode]].
If so, it's probably being caused by an add-on.
