When I ask for a new window I get five new windows, I want that to stop
when I go to firefox and I go to file and ask for a New window I get FIVE new windows!! This is driving me nuts! Also, when I initially open firefox it opens with five windows and Yahoo is all over the place! Make it stop! any suggestions.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

I have an old apple ID which doesnt work, i am not using that one and I dont rembember the password. On Icloud this old ID appears and cannot be changed to the new apple ID I use. When I ask for new password sendt by mail for the old apple ID nothing happens Maybe this ID is connected to an old and inactive email account- i dont understand. Anyone knows how connect Icloud to my new appleID when I cannot activate the old one or get new password ????

I bought a new iMac 27" yesterday, running with Mavericks OS. Attempting to download Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium. Loaded software from discs. When I check for updates they fail to install. A window comes up saying "Some updates failed to install." Then under each applications it says "There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later." Have done this several times. Suggestions?

I have an iMac OS X ver 10.7.5. Processor speed is 3.06 GHz intel core i3, and the memory is 4 GB 1333 MHz RAM. My online banking app is being updated and requires OS ver 10.8 or newer. When I ask for available updates, the system says there are none available. How can I update my system to ver 10.8 or newer to accommodate the new banking app?
You can update directly to Yosemite (for free) through the App Store (this is 10.10). Make sure your existing applications will run on this OS.
If you wish to stay at 10.8, you can order this through the online Apple Store (it's $20), and they will email you a redemption code to be used on the App Store.

I am having exactly the same problem right now. After some research, it looked like my HD was toast. I replaced it today, that part was easy, but now I cannot seem to use my original Install Disk to format the new HD. I get a grey restart screen, or if I get to the Language Selection screen, my cursor is frozen in left corner and I can't use it.
Very frustrating, hope someone else has some ideas!
PS My MacBook was about same age, and "expired" in exactly the same way as yours. -
I have upgraded to iTunesDropper and now the request for a password to allow iTunesDropper to make changes will not work. How can I resolve this?
There was a typo in the original question which should have read "I have upgraded to Yosemite and now when iTunesDropper asks for permission to make changes the password is accepted but the window does not goes away and the permission does not appear to be granted". How can I resolve this?

I own 5. And I own 6. But when I try to open 6 am being prompted for my subscription info.Otherwise am locked out. When I ask for support I get referred to a forum. Remember, two licenses. Oh and since I started the project in 5, It's repeatedly failed to manually save, the audio just disappears, it loses the program monitor, fails to save renders, timecode window burn doesn't work, and that's just for starters.

I need to print from Iphoto , but it ask for a theme , but does not supply a window or a way to apply the theme.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -

Whats thisI had the same experience with a new iPhone 5 that I bought last week. Did not have a chance to measure battery life before the 6.0.2 upgrade installed but I set up my phone exactly like my 4S and immediately started running out of power after short periods. Went to Xmas get together with fully charged 5 and 4S. Heading home the iPhone 5 shut down for low battery and the 4S had 65% power. Both phones had two half phone calls on then and no data usage.
That night I fully charged the iPhone 5 and, without lighting it up, put it on my night table. Next morning I picked it up and looked at battery indicator and I had 42% charge with NO activity!
Tried it again next night and wound up with 37% charge. (Slept longer).
Today I called the carrier and reactivated the 4S. Took the 5 to Apple Store and they kindly gave me choice of new replacement phone or refund. I took the refund. Uniquely, the Apple Store said it was Verizon CDMA phones that were coming back.
The are other strings on this with temporary solutions, but from my experience with 7 firmware changes on an HTC 4G phone the problem will continue because the solution will be hardware caused. We are in the days where RTM means Rush to Market - not Release To Manufacturing.
I fear the only solution is to either wait for the next model (I did not notice a really major change in performance over the 4S in LTE heavy Seattle area) - or switch to another manufacturer.
It might be useful for these forums to indicate if you have a GSM or CDMA phone to see which have more problems.

Customer Service just cancelled my chat when I asked for the # to call to cancel service. Can I get that #? We want to get new phones and Verizon will not offer any kind of deal.

If you just go to the carrier of choice, you port out and keep your cell numbers.

Niel, thanks for your response. I have been very wary of downloading Mavericks on this machine. I don't feel it has the power to run it and I'm afraid it was slow it down terribly. It was bought in late 2008. It's fine for my purposes at this time…just holding on until I buy a new one. I have the same problem others have with autofill not working, so I was trying to see if an update would help that situation. Grace
