When I ask for a PDF file to be downloaded using FIREFOX it opens MIcrosoft Word.... in Japanese, I am not kidding!!

It does not happen in Chrome or Internet Explorer but I don't normally use them. I have done all the things they tell you to do, to set the default as Corel Fusion. I even went so far as to remove Fusion and try setting default at Adobe. It didn't stop the foolish changing over to Microsoft word in Japanese.... WIERD....

Error -2147319779 Library not registered when trying to use ActiveX to open microsoft word

I am having problems when I try to run an executable on a PC. My Development PC that has Labview 8.2 and Microsoft Word 2000. I am able to run my vi (see pic attachement) without any problems. I compile it as an executable and run it on my Development PC and everything still works ok. I deployed it on another machine with Labview Run-Time Engine Version 8.2 and it works ok. I tried it again on a third PC and get the following error
Error -2147319779 Library not registered
All PC's are running windows XP and all have microsoft word 2000 installed.
I have tried uninstalling National instruments software (Run-time Engine) as well as Microsoft Word on the failing PC, but still no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions.

These links may not seem relevant to your issue, but at its base the Report Generation and Database Connectivity toolsets are simply ActiveX/.NET calls into Microsoft products (or ODBC, etc.). This is similar to what you're doing.
Also, I would try reinstalling MS Office. This has been known to solve the problem.

                                   The issues i'm facing are:
When it is reading a row from MS-Excel it is writing to the .pdf file from last cell to first cell.( 2 cell in 1 place, 1 cell in 2 place like if the row has two cells with data as : Name of the Intern: Kesavulu Reddy then it is writing to the .pdf file as Kesavulu Reddy Name of Intern)
and the second issue is:
It is not recognizing the date format..it is recognizing the date in first row only......
Plz Tell me wht is the solution for this...

Saving Password for a pdf file in HP Client Security Manager

Hello,
I want to save the password for a pdf file in the Password Manager of the HP Client Security Manager Software but the symbol for the entry of the password is not appearing on the top right of the screen. If I use the registered fingerprint a dialog opens where the Client Security Manager asks which account it should use to login. But i can't add a password for the file. The login for websites is perfectly fine.
Do you have any idea how to fix that?
Is there a way to manually enter password for files?

Why would a commercial printer ask for Illustrator native files instead of InDesign files?
For example, We create 32 hang tags for the same brand. Each hang tag looks identical except for a color bar calling out the different fits. We set the files up in InDesign with a Master Page congaing all the similar artwork. This process saves us a lot of time when making changes to the entire package of hang tags. So my question is... why can't the printer use InDesign. They are saying they convert our InDesign files to Illustrator before printing.

A printer who insists on native files but can't take InDesign is not properly equipped. It suggests they haven't updated their capabilities in 15 years.

a basic, internally developed API for creating PDF files, but would like some additional
capabilities ... in particular the ability to add a watermark that appears when printing
but not when viewing PDF files on-line.

OK, with a little bit of searching on Adobe's web site, I found the answer to my question.   Yes, Adobe does offer
an API for creating/manipulating/reading PDF files: it's called the Adobe PDF Library SDK and it has to be
licensed. Version 9 is the latest.   The cost is decided on a case-by-case basis.    Here is the link:

In the old days when PDFs were only opened on desktops and only in Acrobat or Reader, scripting could fake security features and people were generally convinced. As there are so many ways to open a PDF without scripts ever being run (from mobile devices to in-browser display, or simply opening the file in Illustrator), none of that works anymore.

When I click on a pdf file, it goes to Windows Media Center

I have Vista and upgraded to IE8 about a month ago. Now when I click on a pdf file, it goes directly to the Windows Media Center. I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it.

Somehow, PDFs have become associated with Media center as the default application for opening them.
Right click a PDfFand choose Properties.
To the right of Opens with, there is a Change button. Click it and select Adobe Reader from the list of programs.
Click OK, Check the box to always use the selected program to open this type of file (If it's clickable), then click Apply and OK.
A reboot may be necessary.

Okular freezes for some pdf files

My problem is that Okular freezes for some pdf files, the problem is NOT related to how big files are, or how many pics/raster in them. I have many pdfs that exceeds 90 MB and run smoothly. Moreover, I have also many large djvu files that run smoothly. Evince runs all files smoothly as well. I have the latest stable okular with the latest stable poppler versions as of today.
Okular freezes in a somewhat weird way, if I go down from page x to x+1 in contiuous mode, It freezes when I reach the gray bar that spearates the 2 pages, when I want to go back to page x from page x+1, which it is supposed to be cached and should load smoothly, Okular also freezes at the same place.
My problem happens with small books having almost all text, and also happens with scanned books. The weird thing is that some other scanned books and some other all-text pdfs, e.g. academic papers, runs smoothly.

Sounds like a bug. Try to report it to the bug tracker and be sure to add a file that shows the problem so that the devs can backtrace it.
