When I attempt to down load a song from my Itunes account I receive an error (err = -5000) "you do not have enough access privlages for this operation".
can anyone help with this?
This is a permissions issue.

Permission issues for Windows are a little more complicated and to be honest I am not to sure how to do that. Peace!

I have had itunes on my computer for a while now and was working beautifully. I had a new printer installed by a tech guy with had to do something to windows 7 to get it to print correctly. Now itunes is acting up. When I try to download updates or sync with my iPad I get an error message saying "You do not have enough access privileges for this operation". Can anyone help?
I'm assuming you are synching to a Mac via iTunes? If so, you need to fix and reset your disk permissions using the Disk Utility app on the Mac.

I got a new computer recently and had no problem transfering over music and such. I went to plug in my iPhone to my computer, which I hadnt done yet. When I tried to sync it, I get the error message saying "You do not have enough access privlidges for this operation." I dont know what to do to change this...any advice???

To fix Home folder permissions
Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the command line prompt enter or paste the following command line:
sudo chown -R `id -un`:`id -gn` ~
Press RETURN. You will be prompted to enter your admin password which will not be echoed. -

Let me give you a quick rundown of my setup
I have a fresh copy of windows 8 64bit with a slave drive installed to handle alll my media.
Im logged in as admin and salve drive has all permissions marked as "allowed"
The error messege that occures when i go to add a new song to the itunes library (which also makes a copy in the music folder on the slave)
The Error reads as follows "Attempting to copy to disk "X" Failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation"
I have tried a uninstall followed by reboot and a fresh install but that made no difference...... Please help me.
_KevinYou are showing problems with permissions on the drive. You need to either run iTunes as an administrator, or check to make sure that you are logged in with administrative priviledges on the computer. Despite having done it before, something has changed your permissions on the computer, has nothing to do with the phone.

Nothing has changed, all i am trying to do is sync my iPhone 3GS to my iTunes (Latest Update).
After clicking sync it attempts to do so, it gets to the backing up stage, then soon as this completes i get the following 2 errors right after eachother.
the iphone "name" cannot be synced, you do not have enough access privledges for this operation
(Click OK)
Attempting to copy to the disc c:\ you do not have enough access privileges for this operation sync
Then Sync cancels and nothing is done,

KaySeeGot this stupid issue again, however it only happens when im trying to copy music from anywhere to my itunes, it works perfectly fine if i run as administrator however when i do this i am unable to Drag and drop music into itunes. and i dont want a stupid windows 7 popup every time i run itunes asking if i want to run it.

I just changed my password for my apple i.d. so I could purchase a new album. I then bought the album, put it into a playlist to burn it to a cd-rw. And when i click ok to start the copy i keep getting this message "The attempt to burn a disc failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" I have no idea what to do as to there is nothing on google except for write access. Which i don't need. Any suggestions?
Oddly enough. I think I just solved it. It looks like, for some reason, my computer has about 8 different "iTunes music" folders, and I've been saving my music to the wrong one. Neat. Music now imports and plays as it should. Copying things over is going to be so fun tonight!

I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before.

This computer is authorized, auoto download is enabled and I can download on my ipad without a problem.

If you are getting this error message just when attempting to download previously purchased music (new purchases work fine), and it's only occuring on the computer (redownloads on the iPad work fine), it may be a permissions issue. I recently installed a new hard drive on my PC, downloaded iTunes, updated the software on my iPod touch and now I get this error message when I try to sync: "you do not have enough access privileges for this operation." It never did this before, whether it's the upgrade in software or something in iTunes, but it's very frustrating, since I'd like to add more things to my iPod.

Just recently getting error message when downloading podcasts. Says "The iTunes Library file cannot be save. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation." Doesn't happen every time. Using Windows 7. What can I do? The files seem to be there but I don't know if they are being backed up to cloud.
