I have made an application using "vision image display". I have labview 7 express and vision builder 6.0. On labview, my application run very well and my image is displayed.
I create an application with application builder 7 and I run it on a client computer with labview runtime engine 7.0 and IMAQ Vision 6.0 run-time engine. And my image is never displayed but stay black.

I have a few questions concerning the problem. Where does the image come from, is it read in or is it from the harddisk. When the image is read in, which hardware do you use? I think you taked off the lens aperture and checked the contrast!? Check if the "vision image display" is correct licensed. Which Version is used from the "vision image display"? You can also check, when there is used any hardware if the drivers are the same on both systems. The current version is 2.6. With your answers, we should get a solution for the problem.

The IMAQ WindDisplayMapping operates on an IMAQ window display. Is there an equivalent fx that will operate on the Vision Image Display Indicator that can be placed on LabVIEW front panel? (Or do I need to code up the equivalent fx?)

Use a property node and select 16 bit image mapping. You can create a control for this or whatever you need. If you select the individual elements, you can get enumerated controls.

I recently upgraded to iWork v9.0.3, but when I access each applications the versions are different (i.e. Pages V.4.1, Numbers V2.6, Keynote V5.1.1) with a install date of 3/18/09 -- which is not the current install date of 2 weeks ago. Why?

With this discrepancy, how can I determine if the latest was installed and operational? I even downloading v9.0.4, 9.0.5, and 9.1. When I tried installing these downloads it popped up note stating that a later version of Keynote was already installed.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

Windows will only be able to open these if you have Word 2007+. Older versions of Word, for example Word 2003 would require a compatibility pack.
Perhaps you can try 'Saving As' a different file type instead?

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

My 27 inch imac has just started acting weird, the thumbnail images and folder on the desktop have disappeared although the titles are still visible. When I open a programme the programme windows are all black and the drop down menus just show random

When I tried to open the web browser the browser flashed black and white at start up, then all the applications when i open a new window are completely black, I am unable to view the drop down menus as the come out as random pixels. This happens to all new applications i have been able to open. The document window opens as plain white but if you click on it it opens a document even though you cant see any thumb nails. Some of the documents are open as normal images/files. Having been a mac user for 10 years i have never seen anything like this before, any ideas or suggestions

I have started running a virus check.
There are no viruses for OSX. Uninstall the software, repair permissions and restart your computer. Especially if it's Norton's. It's known to cause problems.
To rule out a hardware problem, run the hardware test: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11342 OS X Mountain Lion: Use Apple Hardware Test and zapp the PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11342 OS X Mountain Lion: Use Apple Hardware Test.
In the end you may need to lug your iMac down to your local AASP or an AS. Diagnostic testing is FREE!

Vision: Image Display within TypeDef breaks palette update

Came across it while debugging my vision application, where I need to display different representations of various bounding rectangles cropped from a large image. So I created a TypeDef with an array of ImageDisplays along with the bounding rectangle coordinates.
While using it I noticed that the palette update (runtime menu on inmage display->palette) within the image display array didn't work. When explicitly setting the palette via property node on the array element, everything is fine. Also, when disconnecting the cluster containing the image display array and the bounding rectangle array from said TypeDef, the paletteupdate via runtime menu works again. Now, the TypeDef is non-strict. So I wonder this is intended behaviour or a bug?
I've attached an example showing the different behaviour of with and without TypeDef.

Is it possible to explain a bit more about why your are of this opinion? With a strict TypeDef I'd agree, but it's a non-strict one here. Therefore I'm not aware of a reason why this should be intended.

Can a Vision image display's "zoom to fit" action be seen by an event structure?

The "Image Display" indicator from the "Vision" palette has a right-click (context) menu option of "Zoom to Fit".
Is there any way to capture the selection/execution of this action with an event structure?

I don't believe there is a way to do this with an event structure. However, there is an image window property node for the zoom to fit option. You can wire the output boolean into the input of a case structure and execute a different set of code depending on whether or not the zoom to fit option is selected. This should give you the same functionality as an event structure. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Why are images displayed in Photoshop different than the same images displayed in Indesign?

My images imported to Indesign do NOT display as the images in Photoshop.
They seem to display under different color profiles.
The images in Indesign are more desaturated than the images in Photoshop.
This is a problem because now I don't know which image appearance to trust!
How can you get the Indesign images to look like the images in Photoshop?
I use Photoshop CS4 and Indesign CS3.
I import the images from Photoshop to Indesign for exporting to a PDF as the base for Blurb printing (www.blurb.com).
I use the CMYK profile Blurb_ICC_profile.icc:
The images in PS4 are converted to Blurb_ICC_Profile (CMYK).
Both in PS4 and ID3 the color settings are
                           Working spaces:
                              CMYK: Blurb_ICC_profile
                           Color management Policies:
                               CMYK: Preserve Embedded Profiles.
The images are imported into Indesign by drag and drop from Bridge CS4. In Bridge it says that the images have color profile CMYK, Blurb_ICC_profile.
I also do get "Unsynchronized: Your Creative Suite Applications are not synchronized for consistent color." And I don't seem to be able synchronize between CS3 and CS4, or whatever. I do NOT depend on any synchronization.
The settings above should be enough to show the images consistently in Photoshop and Indesign.
SO WHY DOES IT NOT?
Should not Adobes own applications be able to keep color consistency?

What happens if you soft proof in Photoshop and InDesign on screen: View > Proof colors. Do you proof with the same profiles, both simulate paper and black on?
I can simulate Proof Colors (working CMYK), but not simulate Paper, both in Indesign and Photoshop.
Problem is: SAME settings in Photoshop and Indesign BUT the image displayed in Photoshop is brighter and more saturated.
So which image should I correct after?

Why isn't the podcast image displayed?

I have submitted a new podcast to Apple, it is accepted and visible in iTunes. But the podcast image is missing unfortunately. In my XML the image is added. Who can help in this case?

When using Google to search the results are displayed so small I cannot read them. This just started today.

Today when I was searching with Google. The display of the results started getting smaller and smaller, right before my eyes, and I could not stop it, and I was doing nothing, but reading the screen.
