When I change themes I lose all text

Help ! Why is this happening?
This was made a powerpoint. I assume that is the problem?
But, I open with keynote. It is a very simple text presentation.
I try to change the theme and it does, but all the texts disappear..
Actually, a few random text boxes do survive !

This is usually a font issue, the font in PowerPoint file is not installed on the Mac or the font is corrupt.
Open Font Book, select all the fonts then: File > Validate Font
If this doesn't work, change the font used in PowerPoint, then open in Keynote

It's always a good idea to supply platform and AI version info.
How are you "converting" the file? Are you choosing "Save As" and selecting PDF from the file format options? This will bring up additional save options. I would suggest "Illustrator Default" setting unless you have specific needs.

Error when I change UNION to UNION ALL

In the SQL below, I have a union in which I dont care about duplicates (in fact I know there wont be any). Hence, I want to avoid any overhead of sorting and checking for same, by replacing it with UNION ALL. The SQL runs fine with UNION, but complains when I change it to UNION ALL, which I cannot explain. The error message is "Error: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00936: missing expression, SQL State: 42000, Error Code: 936"

If I run the UNION ALL as is without the join to TOCCASE it works fine as well. The columns in each part of the union are the same so I have no idea why its failing.

When I remove the bracket after the ALL keyword, I get the an error "Error: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00920: invalid relational operator

Is it possible to change the formatting of all text captions in a project?

Hi there.
I'm wanting to change the following formatting options on all text captions in my projects:
Caption type
Font
Font size
Font colour
Spacing
Is there any way of changing these for all text captions, or do I have to change them individually? I've tried changing the options in the object style manager, but I think that only works for when you're creating a new text caption, not for existing ones.
I'm using Captivate 7.

It depends: are you using the default style for Text Captions? In that case you can change the default style in the Object Style Manager and have it applied to all Captions.
Or you can change one text caption, and in its Properties panel choose the option 'Save Changes to existing style' from the menu top right (see screenshot). Both methods will work if you didn't override the default Caption Style for those captions. Beware: Quizzing objects can use another style.

When I update iTunes, it "loses" all my songs stored in a non-default location. How to prevent?

I store my music library on an external hard drive. Whenever I update iTunes, it "loses" all my songs. When the iTunes library updates, all my tracks get little exclamation points next to them because they are not in the default (C:\my music\itunes music) location. I have my ways of fixing this...but they are a pain. Is there a way to have my music files not get lost when I update iTunes?

Hi dklowther,
iCloud only houses access to Music purchased through iTunes. Any music you put on your iPhone from CDs or other sources would only be on your phone and in your iTunes library that you used to sync the songs to your iPhone. You need to move the contents of your iTunes library from your old computer to your new one....

Why wont my proxy settings stay when i change them?

Every time i open my firefox browser it says "serve was reset" so i change the proxy settings to automatically detect proxy settings. when i close my browser and open it back up it says "server was reset" and the proxy settings were set back to what they were before i changed them.

Could you describe in a bit more detail what you mean by clicking on the toolbar to open your home page: are you clicking the Home button, or using reload, or using a bookmark?
Does the same problem occur when you open a new window (Ctrl+n), or only when you use your Firefox desktop icon?

Check whether the shortcut specifies any command-line parameters. Here's what I mean:
right-click the icon > Properties > Shortcut tab
The "Target" line should be selected. That line should not have any extra stuff after the following:
32-bit Windows:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
64-bit Windows:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
If you see extra text after that, clear it out, save your change, and try the shortcut again. Any improvement?

Why does DW change my links to blue even when I change them with CSS?

I am having a problem with DW making my links odd colors: sometimes blue, sometimes the same color as the rest of the text. As you can see in the attached screenshots, within DW the links are the correct color (#999966), but in Chrome two of the links are correct but one is blue! I opened the file in Firefox and all three were blue.
Any ideas? I am not much for coding, I mostly use the integrated CSS editor within DW.

Security questions not changing for purchases to verify iPad when I changed them online already?

I forgot my previous security questions and answers so I changed them so I could make purchases with my new iPad 1. However, whenever I purchase something it asks me to answer my security questions but they are still the old ones I do not remember the answers for... What do I do?

Why do my videos stop playing when I change them from "Home Videos" to "Music Videos"?

I have a bunch of music videos that I loaded onto my iPad Mini but it loads them as "Home Videos".
I went into the 'get info' and changed them to "Music Videos" and resynced the device.
Now when I go to play a video it acts like it's going to play then just stops.
The video worked just fine as a "Home Video" but not as a "Music Video", even if I change it back to "Home Video".
Anybody know what the deal with this is?

Be sure that your sequence's settings (see easy setup command in Final Cut Express HD menu) match the format for your video material (like DV NTSC or PAL or HDV) before capture anything. Pay attention to shoot with a 16 bit audio mode, not 12 bit, and use a 48kHz setting for audio in easy setup dialog.
FCE HD can only edit natively standard DV or HDV media captured on tape based camcorder.

Tracks disappear from my iPod when I change them to Media Kind: Podcast from Media Kind: Music

Hello. I'm running iTunes 11.0.1(12) in OSX 10.6.8. My iPod is a 160 Gb Classic (model A1238, I believe it's the newest generation, I got it about 6 or 7 months ago.) I manually manage my ipod, always.
I listen to one podcast in particular with hundreds and hundreds of episodes that I like to keep listed as MEDIA KIND: MUSIC in my itunes library, but MEDIA KIND: PODCAST on my ipod. I know this may seem odd to some people, but it is how I like to organize. So, I download the podcast through itunes, change it to music and then change it back to podcast after I load it to my ipod. When I switch the media kind back over on my ipod (music-to-podcast,) the files disappear, no longer visible on my ipod through itunes (in podcasts or music.) The only way I can find them is to do a manual search on the actual ipod (not ideal.) The ipod is also at capacity, so I need to be able to delete these files, as needed, in order to clear space. So, my question is, how do I find them again in itunes, or is there another way to delete them without restoring the ipod. I manage music a lot differently on my ipod than I do itunes, so restoring it and reorganizing everything is a tedious task, that I'd rather avoid.
I realize that the way I do things is unorthodox, but I fail to see why itunes can't manage something that seems as simple as switching the media kind back and forth. I had this problem with my old 160gb ipod classic and older versions of itunes, but I thought that this bug would be fixed by now with itunes 11.

iTunes is looking for your music in the default directory. Since everything was moved, re-direct it with the instructions I gave you:
In iTunes, click tools, and then preferences, then go to the advanced tab.
If you know where the music is on the E: drive, select it from the iTunes media folder location option.
It will reload all of the music to your iTunes - You can then select what music you want to add to your iPod.

FlashBuilder FlexUnit plugin loses all text after parentheses (brackets, i.e. "()")

Problem description: Using FlashBuilder 4 beta 2 with FlexUnit 4 tests, if a FlexUnit error includes open-close parentheses (a.k.a. for searchers brackets/braces) "()", the output will be truncated before them.

Workaround:
Switch one's FlexUnitApplication.mxml to not using FlexUnit FB plugin. Full error reported in standalone TestRunnerBase. Workaround is onerous especially since FB will silently overwrite if things change sufficiently.
This seems most likely a FlashBuilder FlexUnit plugin issue. Vague memory suggests I should post this somewhere specific to that but searching isn't giving definite answer so, coupled with likelihood of others searching here too, I thought it'd be OK to post here to start. Please forgive spam!

Started to reply yesterday evening, but was too tired. It is a bit less simple, Sreekanth, perhaps you missed this 'I have a simulation'.
Because this is a simulation, you could have different styles being used for the captions (Capture Caption Style, Hint Caption Style, Failure Caption Style...). Process described by Sreekanth has to be done for each of those styles, and then I hope you didn't yet override a style...
