When I go to charge my zen micro it turns on and comes up with a screen that says "Battery Low" then stays on that screen. Any suggestions or do I just need to buy a new battery or is my player broken or what?

I am using one of those generic AC adapters from ebay to charge my Zen Micro Photo, and it doesn't seem to be working. The little graphic of the battery will show that it is charging, but the blue backlight doesn't pulse. I let it charge overnight and the battery is still half-full. However, it charges with the usb cord connected to my compter. I've upgraded to the latest firmware, too.
I actually ordered two chargers, and the company gave me another two for free, and I've tried all four AC adapters - none of them causes the blue backlight to pulse.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? Maybe the chargers are crappy? I'd want to know if the player itself has problems before shelling out 30 bucks + shipping for the Creative charger... Thanks.GlenZEN wrote:
No pulsing would mean that the current is insufficient. But not to worry, the battery still gets charged, probably at a much slower rate.
Typically it means the player isn't being charged, at least several other Micro users have stated that the player won't charge when the faceplate isn't pulsing.
The Zen Micro is a lot more easygoing about which charger you use, particularly if you lock it or put it in USB storage mode (with the newer firmware). Worth trying with the ZMP, although I'm not sure if they added these features. -
ZEN Micro won't turn Off and now won't turn
Hi Everyone, hope you can help me out here.
I have been using my ZEN micro for about week now and it was at first working fine.
Then it started not turning off, so i had to pull out the battery.
This is obviously very annoying, but it got worse over time.
It now won't turn on unless i switch it about 30-40 times.
What is going on, is there a way to fix it and is anyone experiencing the same problem?

FernFernIe, I have the exact same problem, although now my Zen Micro won't turn on at all via the switch.
My Zen Micro is 5 months old and its only been over the past few weeks I've been having problems. It started with having to hold the switch in the power on position for a least 30 secs and trying it at least 5-0 times before the player would turn on, and having to remove the battery to turn it off. Now, not matter how many times I try the switch or how long i hold it for, the player won't turn on.
The battery is fully charged and I have never had problems with the headphone jack, and I haven't dropped it or done any damage to it that I think could be causing it. I'm having to turn it on by plugging it into my computer through the USB cable and then unlpugging it once its on, it's a pain doing this and means if I want to use it later I have to keep it on, muted, in my bag all day with the lock turned on (that end of the switch works) then once its turned off I can't turn it on again until I get near a computer again.
I've searched the discussions and knowledge base but haven't found an answer. I've just emailed the support team and I'm waiting for their response, would be interested to know what they've told you.

Does anyone know if you can charge a Zen V plus from mains power and still play music?
Creative could save its Help Desk/Support people and their consumers <i>endless</i> amounts of aggravation if they simply included a Mains wall charger with every player.
How much does a charger cost at the factory level when you make thousands upon thousands of units?
As it stands now this policy forces people, many of them not very handy with computers [and by the sounds of reading this forum, not everyone in the world is running XP with Service Pack 2 and has all their computer's ducks in a row...] to troubleshoot their USB ports, hack their Registry, delete and re-install firmware and software.
A lot of that is completely over the heads of people who merely want to listen to their favourite music and simply charge their shiny new Zen DAP.
How many people give up when they can't get their Zen recognized and return it to the store, never to buy Creative again?
One it too many when the solution is so simple and inexpensi've. -
Have a Zen Micro (6GB) - Lost Software CD and Firmware update confuses me. Please he
I bought my Zen Micro about 7 months ago and have been using it fine until recently formatted my computer and realized I've lost my software cd (the one that comes with the player).
I tried downloading the Creative MediaSource Organizer/Player (version 3.30.2) and updating the firmware (thereby loosing all the songs I had saved in there. Ugh.) in my Zen Player and in the beginning MediaSource <i>still</i> wouldn't pick up my Creative Player. Then, I don't know why, it now works...but it works like a normal External HardDri've or a PenDi've would! It not longer has that menu thing (where there's a list of artist and albums) at the left side but simply folders under the Creative Player.
Does anyone know where I can get the old firmware and download the required software? I <i>greatly</i> prefer the way my player worked before I updated the firmware/software and I would like to just have that back even if it doesn't have as much features or whatever came with the upgrade. (iTunes or something. Has no idea what that is.)
Also, does Creative have a Service Center in Malaysia (specifically Kuala Lumpur) and can anyone tell me where it is or give me the phone number to call? I'm still under my warranty but this site doesn't list a number to call although they say they give Telephone Support until the warranty expires.

I think that's kind of lame, though, because FireFox is like practically as big as EI now and it's more user-friendly (the tabs are uber cool IMHO). Yeah, I did download the PlayForSure plugin (although I have no idea what it's for) and MediaSource STILL picked up my Micro as something like a pendri've.
Never mind, though. The guy I talked to - never got his name... - said that once you've upgraded the firmware to the latest (which is the one that needs all these weird plugins and makes the device an MTP [I THINK that's what it's called] device) you can't change the firmware back to the old one unless they send it in. So I'm sending it in. And I think they'll replace the software CD for me too, so that's all good.

For an apple ipod there is something called an ihome audio. Which is a clock/ alarm clock and u can listne to ur ipid while charging it... Is there anything like that for a zen micro.. From any brand. Like ihome isnt from apple its just made for apple.. Anyone know anything like that for a zen micro?

The Zen Micro Traveldock is about as similar as you'll get, but doesn't have a clock. Of course the Micro has an alarm built-in. -
my macbook wont start the screen turn blue and stay like that for hrs. It only work when i use safe mode, i try to use disk utilities to fix it but the disk utilities keep saying error and a bunch of other stuff. when syncing with itunes, got error message saying had error and now ipad2 will not do anything other than showing the USB cable with arrow pointing to Itunes on screen. have done the reset and restart, but still get same thing. Ipad does not show up in itunes even though cable plugged in. Have shut down and restarted Windows 7 computer.
I had done all of that to no avail. I did call Apple Tech Support and after he suggested I try a USB port in the rear of the Win 7 computer, things starting working again. I had tried switching the USB port at the front of the machine but that had not helped. Everything is good to go again. thanks for your reply

If all you get is the Apple logo and it powering off, then the next step is to put your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. If you have a back up, then you can put that on there to once the restore is complete.

I was updating my Ipad2 and when it was done it went to the apple logo and wont leave that screen it also will not charge. Ive tried resetting and it turns off for a second then come right back to the Apple screen.
Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -
I dropped my phone down the toilet then turned it off and left it in rice over night now it's saying battery dead and needs to be charged but I've read charing it is the worst thing to do, help please?
After taking a dip in my vest pocket in the washing machine for about 10 minutes, my nearly new 5S spent 5 days in rice and silica gel packets. It definitely dried out, but there is damage to either the battery or the circuit board because it turns on, and I continuously get a blue screen and it reboots every five minutes for a half hour, and then miraculously, it stays on and works perfectly. But I wound up having to fork over $700 for a new 6+. because I couldn't stand the rebooting any longer. I had no insurance, but I do now, Apple insurance, not carrier ins.

whenever i connect my ipod touch 3rd gen to itunes itunes responds really slowly and when i try and sync it it says sync in progress on my ipod screen but then is stuck with "verifying "matts ipod" at the top of itunes and stays like that for ages.. help

My FCPX boots up and then says restoring windows and stays there and never completely boots. I've tried everything. Any thoughts?
Please state what you have tried - there's no point in people here wasting their valuable (own) time trying to help you, only to find you've already tried what they are suggesting.
Have you tried trashing your preferences?
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs first, then if trashing makes no difference, you can restore all your settings.
If you trash them and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then if they get corrupted you can ditch the bad prefs and restore from your (Digital Rebellion) backup.
Can't guarantee it, but it's worth a try.
If that doesn't work, move your projects and events (if you have any) to new folders so that FCP X doesn't find them, then relaunch the application. If it launches OK, there's a very good chance one of your projects or events is corrupt or one of the files in an event is corrupt.
Quit the app, then move one event or project at a time back to the original folder and launch FCP X agian - keep going until you find the cause.
