    Hi Bev076,
I would try these ideas first:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that doesn't resolve the situation, I would suggest reporting it:

  • My iPad does not ring when I am getting a FaceTime call.  And my volume is on.  Also I have noticed when I charge my iPad at night I no longer hear that connection sound that it used to make.  And lastly, my iPad will not flip when turned.

I no longer get a ring tone in face time when receiving an incoming call.  My volume is turned on.  Then I noticed when I charge my iPad at night, when I make the USB connection, it does not make tha connection sound any longer.  And now my iPad will not flip.  It only stays in one direction.  Has anyone experienced these things?  I do not know what to do about these issues.  Thanks.

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

I don't know if you can prevent it at all. The same ting happens to me in other apps - not just web browsers. I realize that since it's a web browser, there might be something that you don't want someone else to see if they use your iPad, so If it bothers you that much, close Chrome when you are done with it.
Double tap the home button to bring put the multitasking display. Find the Chrome app preview window and drag it up off the screen to close it.

I just know that anecdotally I have seen people reporting issues with their mini's charging. Is there a real issue or not? I don't know. Not a day goes by that a person doesn't post here complaining that their iPad won't charge and it turns out that they're trying to do it via USB or with the iPhone block.
But while there are a lot of user fixes sometimes it's good to have the pros take a look at things, and at the very least document that there has been an issue.
the four main reasons an iPad won't charge (beyond being plugged into a USB port)
    Bad cable
    bad outlet
    bad brick
rule those out and it leaves issue with the iPad.

  • Can i use new ipad charger for ipad 2 and vise versa

I have ipad 2 and i bought new ipad for my dad. Both ipads charge quickly with ipad2 charger as compare to new ipad charger.
So, my question is.. Is it okay to use new ipad charger for ipad 2 and vise versa...???

The iPad 1, iPad 2 and new iPad all use the same 10W charger.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. It sounds as if your browser and some of your apps are not color-managed.  This is pretty typical.  Even IE9 is only partially color-managed.
You can expect color-managed and non-color-managed applications to show you different things with the same images.  How different will depend upon how different your monitor color profile is from the image's color profile.
For web publication and most general use, experts usually advise saving images with the sRGB profile.  If such images, saved through the Save for Web & Devices function, look different to you than you expect, it may be that your input images have previously been saved in another color space.
You should really try to get your head around color-management by reading more on it.  It can seem baffling and it's difficult to understand without some background.  A quick web search turns up many overviews.  Beware, though, even people writing articles sometimes don't fully understand it.

  • When I charge my Ipad I just get the apple picture and no charge. After charging for hours every once in a while the red battery pops up bu then returns to the apple.

When I charge my I pad I just get the apple sign and not a charge. After hours of charging sometimes I might get a slight red battery but then it returns back to the apple sign. I am using the correct battery.

I did try to reboot the ipad by holding both keys down  and the Apple logo did appear but the Ipad would bot restart.
I do own a Iphone and tried charging earlier by switching out the cables and not the charger. In fact in the apple home we have three i-phones and have tried muliple cables with no luck.
    Thanks for your help.
That doesn't sound good at all.
Since the Reset didn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • Why is my iPad beeping and the battery is draining

My iPad keeps beeping and the battery is draining has any one experienced this?

Don't know if this applies to you but Another poster , Real Carbuff, figured out that after update 7.0.4 ipad doesn't shut off with the cover closed.
I tested real carbuff's analysis and he is 100 percent.    I updated to 7.0.4 a few days ago and the battery no longer held a charge and it was frequently hot.
I can see the light when I peer at the narrow opening with the cover closed.  I  had 20 percent battery when I closed the cover last night but in the morning it had drained to zero.  Ever since update I have had to charge it all the time-never had to do this before.
This would also explain why it got unbelievable hot when I put it in the case I had been using for 6 months with no problem.  It never shut off in the case and it cooks in there.   I was so stunned with how hot it was that I immediately made an appt to take to apple store.  Now I know what the problem was.
Thanks again real Carbuff for figuring this out.

  • Powerbook beeps and flashes on startup the NOTHING!

    Hi there,
My powerbook froze last night and I turned it off by holding down the power button. I then left it for a few minutes and turned it back on. The machine made the usual noise when once i pressed the power but then made a noise of 3 beeps and the white light at the front flashed about 4 times.
The display is black and nothing else happens. Just a continuing flashin light on the front.
    Can anyone help?

Also, if swapping the two RAM sticks does let you boot, check "About this Mac" on the Apple menu afterwards to make sure your Mac is still seeing all the RAM-- if it's only seeing half, you might have the dreaded lower memory slot failure.

  • Two beeps and flashing screen

My wife's 3rd generation nano stopped working while she was listening to a podcast for runners. There was no response.
I tried resetting it, pressing the middle button and the top for over ten seconds. No apple logo but I heard two faint beeps.
I tried holding the middle and the down button. Two beeps and the screen flashed repeatedly.
I hooked it up to iTunes and it was recognized. I tried restoring the software. I renamed the iPod just to see if the connection was really there. After I reset it I disconnected and repeated the first steps with the same results. I hooked it back up to iTunes and it recognized the iPod and the new name.
I checked for update. No glory.
I'm at the end of my knowledge, any ideas?

the same exact thing happened to me yesterday. I was running and a song would stop halfway through it. I kept pushing play again and it got to be every 10 seconds instead of every minute or so.
I finally let it stay paused and my screen never worked during that time. I went home and plugged it in the computer and it didnt recognize it and the screen stayed blank. I restored the ipod to default settings from the computer and during the whole time the screen never came back on, just beeping, not even a flashing screen.
I was able to add songs back on it from my computer but it still doesnt work or anything, connected or disconnected from the computer. I left it alone all night plugged into the computer and it still wont work at all. It just beeps. Ive tried the resettings and all. PLEASE HELP!!
    Thank you

  • I tried to charge my iPad Air and when I plugged it in the charge symbol would show up, but my iPad wouldn't actually hold the charge. What should I do?

I tried turning the device off and on and I even reset it. I also tried to charge it overnight but that didn't work either. I let the battery run out and I've tried charging it after but it still doesn't work. I tried four different wall sockets and tried charging with my computer with no luck. Even when the device is plugged in it won't turn on all the way. The Apple logo appears then it shuts off, but it does this repeatedly as if it forever resetting (this only happens when plugged in).

The genius at the Genius Bar ended up replacing my iPad Air with a new one. It was a quick visit which made me happy, but I wish my replacement iPad had an engraving like my original one.

  • Panic problems, unexplained beep, and flash player keeps quitting

I just bought my first mac computer 3 months ago and was given a new one a couple weeks ago because there were some issues with the first mac but those issues were nothing compared to what's happening with this second computer.
First of all, I like to play an online game that requires Adobe Flash player. I played this same game on the first mac with no issues but now after playing a couple games in a row, it shuts down and says that Flash player quit. I uninstalled Flash player and reinstalled it and it seemed to be working better. I could play many more games but then it again shut down.
A friend of mine suggested I try playing the game using Firefox instead of Safari and in the middle of the game, it shut down but this time, instead of saying flash player had to quit, the computer started giving me continuous long beeps. I ended up turning the computer off and then restarted it and the beeps were gone.
My third issue is with the computer telling me I have to shut it down. I'll be in the middle of surfing the web and all of a sudden a box appears on the screen telling me to hold down the turn on button to shut the computer off.
I copied some of the reports issued after the problems I've encountered and can include them if it will help someone figure out what's wrong with this computer.
I'm on vacation for awhile without any Apple store near by or I'd bring this to them and see if someone could help so I hope someone here has some ideas on what's going on with this new computer.
It's a mac book pro, Intel Core i7 with 4gbs DDR 3 ram.

Go to Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility and select your volume and then select Repair Permissions.
Same directions are also in the OS Mac Help Menu.
TIP-You should Repair Permissions & restart:
After installing and/or updating an OS (Operating System).
    After installing software.
    After burning sessions.
I believe I must have the most up to date version.
    Check Flash Version
I'm out of town and using a network in the hotel I'm staying in. Maybe my mac doesn't like it.
Maybe but doubtful.  The real test would be to try wifi when you return from your vacation.  Kernel panics are an indication of hardware problems more so than software.
I actually bought my computer at Best Buy and took out their extended warranty.
Does not matter where you purchased a Mac.  All new & refurbished Macs are covered for one year from the date of purchase, first 90 days you get free phone tech support, and an additional 2 years (from the date of purchase) of free phone tech support if you purchased AppleCare.
