When I click a sidebar bookmark, site opens in sidebar, not in Firefox page

Just reinstalled windows and Firefox

Right-click that bookmark and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.
Using JavaScript buttons on web pages for "Bookmark this Page" causes that preference to be selected when saving the bookmark in that manner. So, don't use those buttons, use the "Bookmark this Page" feature that is built into Firefox instead.

First try resetting the iPod:

Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. As for your issue, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

When I click on any object, Indesign opens endless documents (not always)

Every time I open my homepage (not the Firefox page), another tab opens that is an ad. My pop-up blocker is on, so I don't understand why this is happening.

My homepage is whitenoiseplayer.com. Whenever I open Firefox, this additional tab opens. It is an ad that says something like, "Congratulations Wal-Mart customer!" and says I've won something. I don't think it's a virus, because I already did a virus scan. Could it be a problem with my homepage? I've been using this homepage for quite some time, and this has never happened before. It doesn't happen when I open any other websites.

This kept on happening to me too! I finally figured out the problem! I had downloaded something and it set it as my homepage automatically. Only mine was a google search of something and it was highly annoying, but the same problem! At the top of mozilla push firefox>options>options>general. Look at the homepage part.
It should only have your chosen homepage, but it doesn't! Just delete the other link and press save! I guess firefox allows you to have as many home page's as you like! Odd, but cool.

Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.

Hello.. I'm having trouble with my google bookmarks since I upgrdaded to Firefox 3.6.6, when I click on my bookmark tab it opens but then closes again in a matter of seconds. I can't seem to get my list to stay open long enough for me to browse through. A

Since upgrading to Firefox 3.6.6 my bookmarks will not stay open, when I click on the bookmarks icon on the toolbar my list opens up but then disapears again with in about 10 seconds.... i.e, not enough time for me to chose which site I want to open. I've tried deleting cookies, temp. files and I even tried a complete re-install of Firefox but I'm still getting the same problem.... Any ideas please?

I'm having difficulty visualizing what is wrong but try some basic steps first:
Launch Safari while holding a Shift key - this will start Safari with just your Home page
If you can see Reset Safari from the Safari menu, try that.
In addition to downloading and installing Safari again, try reapplying just the Snow Leopard Combo Update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 There is no need to uninstall Safari first.
Lastly try deleting Safari's Preferences file: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

I have two issues since upgrading to FF4. The first issue is, when I click on a bookmark it will not automatically open in a new tab. I do have this option checked in my preferences, but it will not work. The second issue is when I search in the Google box, I cannot click on the auto search option.

Bookmarks always open in the current tab unless you middle-click or use Ctrl + left-click to open the bookmarks in a new tab just like you do with other links.
There are extensions that can change that behavior.

I just uploaded to the newest version of Firefox. Now, when I click on a bookmark the link opens in the same tab - they won't open in a new tab. However, when I click on a link in an existing page that link opens in a new tab. I miss having my bookmarked links open in their own individual tabs. Please put that function back in.

Some add-ons like Tab Mix Plus offer that as an option, but I do not recall that ever being a built-in function if Firefox.

Since I installed Firefox 10.0 when I open my bookmarks I get a side window that opens and stays open when I click on a bookmark. I have to go back to the top icon to close the side window. In the past when I would get the drop down bookmark list that would disappear when I clicked on a bookmark. Is there a way to go back to the way it used to be?

I have not changed any of my preferences and they look like they are as I would have left them.
I tried resetting Firefox and deleting the preference file, no change.
By the way, I hate that the tabs are on top and not where they belong above the pages they are for. There should still be a way in Firefox to put them back without having to use an add-in.
