When I click on a aite to open it, I get a problem loading page ,and even retrying doesn't help

I am running XP media center edition. I just had to get it wiped clean and an XP program reloaded, but now when I click on a link, it try's to open another page, but says trouble loading page.

Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. As for your issue, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

When I click on the icon to open Firefox I get an error message " A copy of Firefox is already open, only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time".

I have tried to download and run Firefox on my MAC OS 10.6.7 several times and have run into this error message every time:
"A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time". A search through the computer does not fine another copy of Firefox and there is no window open or evidence of the program open.
When I got this computer a year ago I copied the hard drive from the old computer onto the new and the old computer had a copy of Firefox on it and the program worked on that computer. It would not run on the new computer so I thought maybe it was due to the Intel chip so I deleted the program and downloaded the newest version at the time. This is when I started getting the error message and subsequent attempts have yielded the same results.
Can you be of help?

I installed 4.0, it wouldn't open, not even in safe mode, not in any mode; it wouldn't open at all. So I installed it again,(no I didn't uninstall it first, first,I couldn't , ti wouldn't let me.) wi I tried opening the second one, the page would come up, but I got the message "problem with loading", work off line, try again. (tried many times)I was able to uninstall this one, or both, it was gone. So I searched for and found 3.6.17 and installed it, Goal, score, it works, my tool bar is just as it was, great... this is the rub, Mozilla/Firefox, no longer supports 3.6.17, so I have to change/upgrade. Can someone tell me how????? System runs windows XP, system is about 8 or 10 years old, some upgrades, but I think only to the memory, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am getting the "Problem loading page" error when trying to run gmail. I've tried many of the suggetions, but I have a Mac not a PC and cannot figure it out.

I got a new MacBookPro a couple of weeks ago, and am unable to get Firefox to load GMail. I've tried lots of the suggestions on here, but none seem to work. I have to use Firefox in order to have access to class through Blackboard, but I can't get my e-mail. It is becoming frustrating.

You could of course use Safari your default browser as a quick method of accessing gmail until you figure out the Firefox problem. (More than one browser may be used on a Mac or other computer).
Is this the only site you have problems with ? and does Safari work ok ?

Error code when firefox starts= Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function. And when Firefox starts up it has a "problem loading page" and can't find any servers. Explorer works, so I know it's not my network connection.

After extracting the Beta 4, when I click the Icon on the desktop, it goes back to the download page of 3.16.

First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.

Cannot directly open the browser from the icon. "problem loading webpage" and "timed out" are the messages. Access was accomplished by using yahoo messenger and opening my email. if I attempt to open a new page, I recieve the aforementioned warnings.

It sounds to me as though you are attempting to open a Pages 09 document with the Pages 08 application. If you do have Pages 09 on your computer, it may be that for some reason an existing Pages 08 application is invoked accidentally.
