When I click on IPHOTO 09 on my dashboard nothing happens.

Can I get some help please? Color Synch Utility seems to be the default and I can't open IPHOTO.

Start with the troubleshooting basics:
1. Delete the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
2. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

I ultimately decided to 'gift' the movie I wanted to watch to myself. This is not a great solution as you then have to purchase the video; no option to rent.

AlexCarey, I've been having issues purchasing recently and place a number of calls to the support team. On Oct. 5th, and on my own decision, I went into my itunes profile and re-entered my credit card expiration date and security code. (Notice, it is not displayed for safety measures.) Today, I received an email from Apple support verifying if I made changes made to my account. For the heck of it, I logged back into itunes; click "Buy". That usually indicates a JavaScript onclick action that isn't working. Such a link may also be added by a jQuery script after the page load has finished.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

When I click "Clear now" to clear the cache, nothing happens, no acknowlegement the the cache is cleared, and I need to know whether the function is working.

login problem at an arts forum... login works at other sites.
I can't log in. They gave me a new password and were able to log in with it, doesn't work for me. They suggested clearing cache.
I removed a cookie from that site, and tried to clear the cache, but suspect I was unsuccessful. When I go to the login, after attempting to clear the cache and removing cookie, the login form is immediately filled in with a password, which could be the old one or the new one, they are unfortunately the same number of letters.

As a quick test for cookie or cache problems you can try to switch Private Browsing mode on to see if that allows to log in.
You can either use Tools > Start Private Browsing or set a check mark in:
* Tools > Options > Privacy: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
To see all the History and Cookie settings, select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" 
Do not forget to exit Private Browsing mode after you have finished the login test.

When I click on a link in an email, nothing happens; Firefox used to open the page. I am using a Mac computer, latest OS, and the Mac mail program.

I have tried quiting Firefox and setting Safari to my default browser. Links open on Safari just fine. When I go back to Firefox as my default, I continue to have the same issue, links will not open in Firefox.

You can also quit and relaunch Firefox and then
the link will open in mac mail.
