When I click on the itunes store the info appears for a couple of seconds and then the screen goes blank. I never had this problem before any ideas?

same thing with me have you found an answer? the only thing i cant think of is to download the new itues but when i try they are haveing problems with the site or something and i cant dowload it.

The artwork turns black or the screen's backlight turns off? If the backlight turns off, simply disable the backlight timer, but keep in mind this will significantly reduce your iPod's playback time and battery life.

I click on a yahoo new article, it displays for a few seconds and then I get a blank screen.

It happens only in Firefox,not explorer. When I click on a yahoo news article, it displays for a few seconds and then goes to a blank screen. I've run virus scans, eliminated all cookies, all to no avail.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

But that requires the computer to see the ipod. I am having the same problem and I keep being told to restore it, but you have to either get the ipod to turn on or have the computer see it in order to so that. Right now I have a pretty useless 32GB ipod touch cos I cant get the thing to turn on! I can only get the apple logo for like maybe 20 seconds and it goes away. This problem just started today. When I turn on or restart my Macbook Pro Retina 15" (Mid 2012 version), my screen is light gray like normal, and then after a few seconds my entire screen flashes completely bright yellow for a few seconds, and then it goes to the normal Welcome screen (where I choose to login as myself or a guest user). This suddenly started today and has not stopped since. This keeps happening every single time I turn on or restart my computer.
Yesterday I installed all the Mavericks and other updates that were available in the App Store, so I'm wondering if this is related to that since this never happened prior to my doing those updates yesterday. When I first installed the new OS X Mavericks (10.9.3) update, it went through the whole installation process (took about 10 minutes), and then during the installation I got an error message saying that it couldn't verify my iTunes application that was on my laptop, and then my laptop finished installing the updates. Then once my laptop restarted, the App Store "Updates" section said that I had to do the whole OS X Mavericks (10.9.3) and iTunes (Version 11.2) updates all over again. So my laptop did the whole installation again (took about 10 minutes, but this time I didn't get that "iTunes error message" during the installation process).
Now, when I go to the App Store "Updates" section, it says the following under "Updates Installed in the Last 30 days":

I'm wondering if this flashing bright yellow screen upon bootup is related to the fact that my laptop installed the OS X Update and the iTunes Update two times each? Or is this new problem totally unrelated? It's just that this problem started a day after these 2 updates were installed twice.
My Macbook Pro Retina 15" (Mid 2012 version) is otherwise working fine at least as of now. The only issue so far is this flashing bright yellow screen every time I turn on or restart my computer.
If anyone could please help me fix this so that my bootup screen doesn't flash completely bright yellow anymore, I would be forever grateful!

Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP! Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process. Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal. No flashing yellow screen anymore!!

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer..)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy...Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

When I search for an artist in itunes, the songs pop up briefly, but once the page loads completely, the page goes blank.

I'm having the same difficulty. I'm running Windows Vista with iTunes 9.0.3.15. iTunes opens up just fine and I can get to the Store's homepage, but when I try and search for a song, the results just flash on the page for 2 seconds and then it's all gone....I'm left with one big, empty box. If I'm quick, sometimes I can click on a random song and I can hear the sample played, but then it's gone again while the song is playing.
Guess I won't be buying anything more from iTunes...

I just updated and downloaded the new version of iTunes. I then downloaded some music and now the music won't play on my iPod or in my iTunes. The tracks play for a few seconds and then skip to the next track

I just downloaded and updated the newest version of iTunes. After updating I downloaded some new music and synced the iPod. The music doesn't play. It'll play about 30 seconds of the song and then skip automatically to the next song. I restarted the iPod. I restored it. It still didn't work. Then I tried listening to the music from my laptop straight from iTunes...and it's still doing it.
How do I fix it?

I'm assuming the tracks that won't play copy/are displayed with exclamation marks. This happens if the files are no longer where iTunes expects to find them. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

Shuffle appears for a few second and then it's gone! (itune 7.3)

Can't access my Shuffle since last night! (right after the software update for sound).
My shuffle mount on the desktop for a few second than disappears, it is available in Itune under devices but you can't copied or erased anything on it.
I have tried restore, restart, and all the USB port without success! ;-(
Has anyone the same problem?

Me too. This is really poor. I plug in my shuffle and I get no status lights (maybe a quick red one then nothing). I don't know whether it is charging properly or not. In addition it will not respond to autofill. I can drag and drop things into it but when I do so, it will not play items in the proper order. I have never seen such poor software upgrades as this. It went from working fine to upgrades for both the shuffle and iTunes that degraded performance.
And don't just tell me to restore, etc. I'm no dummy.

Why do my songs on iTunes keep stopping for a few seconds and then start again?

I have have run disk utilities, repaired permissions, and run activity monitor and all of that looks good. The rest of the computer does not freeze, just the songs. They usually stop for about 2-3 seconds and then pick back up where they left off. These problems started with the last update of iTunes, so I am sure it is something to do with that.

I have a MacBook Pro with Retina display, when starting up, I see the Apple logo, the bar underneath fills about 1/4 of the way, and then the screen goes black, the mouse cursor is still visible.

Boots to black in OS X mode (I believe 10.10.2? tough to check right now). I can boot into Windows 8 using Boot Camp without incident. I have booted to Disk Utility and run Disk and Permissions Repair. I have booted into Diagnostics, and no issues were found (ADP000 was the Reference Code given). I reset the PRAM, which gave a louder chime than I had been getting when failing to start up OS X, but otherwise no change. Feeling that my options were exhausted, I attempted to restore from Time Capsule, and it won't connect to Time Capsule, despite Time Capsule being the active router whose network I am connected to. Please advise.
(This is my girlfriend's computer, she tells me that she selected an option to perform an automatic update later, that night.)

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
      the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
           because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should install the version of OS X that you had installed.
Be sure you only work on the OS X volume, not your Windows volume. I cannot tell you if you will still be able to boot the Windows volume after the above. You will need to find a fix for that.
