When I click on my contact icon it gets stuck in spinning wheel mode

When I click on "contacts" icon in menu bar it opens but goes into spinning pinwheel mode and I can't access my contacts. If I don't force quite it goes on forever. How to reset or ??? without losing my contacts? Help please.

Did you install anything new? there was an update to Safari last week.
Launch Safari in safe mode to disable plugins.
You may need to look into booting your Mac with Command-R to repair your disk or even reinstall Lion.
The best place would be Lion and Safari forums, and just to let you know this is not the forum for MacBooks or MacBook Pro.
Also, make sure you are using one or more backup drives and methods, we all need them at some point.

What URL do you have bookmarked as your home page? You might want to look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. There are steps in there to restore the home page to default. I would try that first to see if it clears up any strangeness. If that works, you can set the home page to anything you like.

Firefox 23 introduced a new security feature. If this is an HTTPS page, insecure content may be blocked. Look for a shield icon on the address bar to the left of the URL. This article has more details about this feature: [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]]
If it's not a secure page or there's no shield, here is a more general suggestion.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

First and foremost, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at [http://www.getfirefox.com getfirefox.com].
In any case, and since you seem to be in the process of updating (you should have done so a while ago, since Firefox 2.0 has been discontinued years ago, I believe), your problems may exist because you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. I was having this problem. The settings on my wireless router was set to hide my IP address so it wouldn't connect. When I changed that, I connected no problem. While this is annoying since I don't want my IP address to be out there, I just switch my router when I need to connect to the App/iTunes Store. Hope this helps. It worked for me.

I was using my laptop on a hotel wireless the past couple of days. I returned home and put it back on the docking station. However, I do remember getting this same error message while I was on the hotel wireless. Since IE worked, I didn't worry about it, thinking it had something to do with the hotel wireless. However, now I'm home and it still won't work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox a couple of times - still the same error message. I don't have a "system administrator" to contact - that would be me!

When I click on the Firefox icon to get to the internet I get a message saying that Firefox still has a window open and that I need to close it before I can open another window even though there is no window open.

I have not been able to get onto the net through Firefox for several weeks. Each time I try to get on, I get this exact message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." If I restart I get the same message. I really like Firefox so I'd like to solve this situation.

When I click on the Mail icon, the mail accounts do not appear. The screen is blank except in the he upper right corner of the screen I can see mini icons: flag, folder, file box, arrow, and pad/pencil mini icon.
I've been having a number of issues with Facebook ever since I upgraded to Version 8, so I don't know if this is a version issue or something else.
I've tried rebooting/restarting, etc. Nada.

Close all apps and then reset the iPad. If that does work, reset all settings.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again.
FWIW, I don't use Facebook at all, the app or in a browser, but I have read more that a few posts here where people that use the app all the time claim that is very buggy and causes all sorts of problems for them. Maybe closing the app along with the reset will help.

Skype hangs when I click a particular Contact

My Skype version: 7.0.60.102.
My Windows XP version: 2002 Service Pack 3.
For the last 2 days, I’ve observed that when I click a particular contact my Skype hangs. And I’d to restart the system. This happens irrespective of text or file transmission.
FYKI, this contact is using a slightly older version of Skype (6.21.0.104).

Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
If this will still not help, then uninstall the 7.0 version and install the previous 6.21.0.104 Skype version.
