  • When I click on "rent" in the iTunes Store nothing happens.

When I click on "rent" in the iTunes Store nothing happens.
I am signed in with a current credit card number.
Any ideas what I should do?
    Thanks!

I ultimately decided to 'gift' the movie I wanted to watch to myself. This is not a great solution as you then have to purchase the video; no option to rent.
Still looking for solutions if anyone has ideas.

  • When i try to rent movies from itunes the apple tv tells me to go to the itunes store for credit card authentication

I've logged into the itunes store and applied a different credit card.  I've updated the software on my Apple TV and even turned it off and back on by unplugging it.  Twice, I have either not rented or rented from a different location.  How can I fix this and how can I test it without renting something that I don't need right now?

If you look back at my post I said make sure the security code is entered. If you have then great, but that is the first thing that causes issue in regards to verification.

  • HT1390 I've rented & downloaded a movie on my computer in itunes, but it does not show up on my Apple TV.  Everything else shows up on Apple TV, including my computer's movie library.  When I click on the movie in Apple TV it says I've already rented it.

Unfortunately I have to if I download it on my computer.  I have rented itunes movies before directly using the Apple TV and it worked just fine and I could stay in the living room.  Without clicking that icon on my computer, there was no way to watch it.

  • I click on Rent Movie in my iTunes store app and nothing is happening.

I am trying to rent some movies on my iPhone 3GS. I have the most recent iOS on my phone. I click on Rent Movie and nothing is happening. iTunes isn't asking for my password, nothing in downloads or purchased. I'm not getting any error messages either. Literally nothing is happening. I am awaiting a response from iTunes support but I'm too impatient!

The usual explanation for this is that:
    1. You have changed the iTunes preferences so that when importing a song the file is not copied into the iTunes media library - doing so is the default.
    2. You have subsequently moved the original file, which iTunes has been using to play your song, and so of course it's lost contact with it.
If 1. is not the case, then the files in the iTunes Library (by default, in (user)/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music) may have been moved, deleted or become corrupted. You should check in that library, but don't start moving files in there about. If this is the case you should delete the songs in the iTunes Music list, not in the Finder, and re-import.

A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

  • Transfer a rented movie in iTunes to my AppleTV

I have a rented movie in iTunes. When Apple TV is highlighted under Devices and I click on Movies at the top, I get a place when I can move the movie to the right into the To Apple TV box.  When I click on "Apply" in the lower right corner, however, I get an error message that I am not authorized on Apple TV.
How do I become authorized on

I use a program called FotoMagico to create .m4v files of the photos I take on trips and scans of 35 mm slides that I have taken over the years. After the files have been encoded they are downloaded to iTunes and synced to my Apple TV.
I also post the trip pictures on the Internet using the Host Excellence server.  If you are interested, this is the trip Home Page:

  • Cannot rent movie via iTunes on PC - says I must connect to a wi-fi network...?!?

    Hi everyone
I have iTunes for Windows installed on my Windows 7 PC and I've just tried to rent a movie. When I click on "Rent" it asks me for my Apple ID (as expected) but when I enter it I then get a message saying "This Item Cannot Be Downloaded on This Network. You must connect to a Wi-Fi network or download it on your computer"....which is kinda wierd becase I am on my computer, connected to my Virgin broadband modem via Ethernet.
Everything else on iTunes seems to be OK...can anyone shed any light on why this is happening and how I can fix it?
    Many thanks...

Getting the same issue that has poped up in the last day or 2 for me but I am not completely sure when I downloaded my last tv show off itunes outside of maybe sunday. But im on Windows 7 64-bit, Itunes version is the most recent one that is released (10.6.0.40). Internet is connected through a Cisco wireless router E2500 which is directly pluged by a ethernet cable into my desktop. The router is connected to my RCA modem which is provided by Mediacom.
Internet connect is stable and running fine and I am not seeing any kind of error messages on the modem itself that would be creating this problem. I have reset my router, modem, computer to see if that was creating the problem but nothing is working. I have also attempted to bypass my router and just connect my computer directly to my cable modem and I am still getting the same error message.
I can not download any new tv show off itunes (Attempted to get the free episodes of The Killing) as well as I am unable to download previous shows I have bought in the past though the purchased option. Itunes does allow me to download patches to app's as well as podcasts but it will not let me download a tv episode even a small size one like a preview of 4 minutes.
But outside of any other things I can think of I have no other ideas on how to correct this problem outside of contacting apple but I got a feeling they might blame it on the cable company which I doubt that is the case. But I hope the information I provided will be of use to trying to troubleshoot this problem.

  • HT1725 When I click on a Movie I get the following "You have already purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check For Available Downloads from the Store menu." Then get err = 11111

iTunes quit unexpectedly during the download of a movie.  When I click on that movie now I get the following message: "You have already purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check For Available Downloads from the Store menu."
I follow the instructions, but the download still doesn't resume - err = 11111
    Any advice?

Yeah, I am going to blast my iPhone for the 4th time today and pray this goes away. I had 6 apps showing updates, the 6 badge icon shows on the App Store on my iPhone and, having run them all, the 6 apps have two copies each on my iPhone: one that is the old version of the app and will not run and the other is a faded version of the app with an empty progress bar on the icon. Click those and you get an error message about connecting to iTunes, etc. as described in the article I linked to above.
It gets stranger than this. If I install a completely NEW app, the 6 that are stuck mid-update heal themselves and appear with the new version only, however now completely different apps (Hold Em for instance - which I did not update and didn't need an update) will not launch "app name Cannot Launch" message comes up.
    Agh!

  • HT1657 do you need internet to watch a rented movie from itunes

Do you need internet to watch a rented movie from itunes?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
From my own personal experience, I have found that when I turn off the Wi-Fi on my Wi-Fi only iPad, I am still able to play rented movies on it. I have tried this perhaps four or five times and in each case, this has been the result. I have also noted that other users have had the same experience as I.
However saying that I have noted a small number of users that have stated they are unable to view rented movies without an Internet connection. This knowledge base article from Apple, also suggests that an Internet connection is required.
