When I click on the firefox icon, it takes minutes to show itself. How can I make it go faster?

I click on the icon, but it takes minutes to show itself. I click on internet explorer and google chrome and the appear fast. What should I do to make firefox appear faster?

Can someone help me to find a way to make my firefox show itself faster after you click on the icon?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

When I try and open firefox -either from the start menu or desktop shortcut -it doesn't open unless I open another program first. Eg I click firefox and then say 'word' and then 'word' will open followed by firefox- not only is it a bit irritating but also means I get distracted(!) as I usually chose solitaire because it opens quickly.

My e mail functionality doesnt work any longer on my 3gs phone. has worked perfectly for 18 months...now i just get a blank screen when i click on the mail icon...it still tells me how many mails I have waiting on the icon...any ideas?

my mail has been working perfectly on my 3gs iphone. I can now longer access the mail after tapping on the mail icon. All i get is a blank screen with a reload icon and a write icon at the bottom, neither of which responds when touched. The icon continues to tell me how many mails I have in my inbox and continues to update.
Any ideas?

Firefox 23 introduced a new security feature. If this is an HTTPS page, insecure content may be blocked. Look for a shield icon on the address bar to the left of the URL. This article has more details about this feature: [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]]
If it's not a secure page or there's no shield, here is a more general suggestion.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
