When I click the link to install Firefox to my Android phone I recieve the error: The requested item could not be found.

My phone is an LG Optimus, presumable of the type necessary to install Firefox. The download does not appear when I click the link.

Sorry but this phone is not compatible with the current mobile Firefox releases due to the ARMv6 (ARM11) CPU it uses when release work on ARMv7 cpu's.
Also it needs the Android 2.1 update if you are still running 1.6
You can perhaps try the experimental ARMv6 nightlies (Fennec).

  • Getting error message "the requested item could not be found" when trying to install Firefox on my android.

I had to uninstall Firefox for Android because I was having problems logging in to sync. I got a support e-mail to uninstall and reinstall because the sync issue had been fixed. I uninstalled the Firefox app and then when I tried to reinstall it I get the error message on my phone "the requested item could not be found." HELP!

Some supported phones are not displaying Firefox in the Market for some reason. We're still investigating this. You can check if your phone is supported here:
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android
and then download the app directly from here:
    http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/4.0b3/android-r7/multi/
(Note: If your phone is from AT&T, you will have to search for instructions on "sideloading" the APK file, since AT&T disables the option to install from non-Market sources.)

  • The requested item could not be found...

My phone is one of the tested for Firefox Mobile (Xperia X10), and yet I keep getting the "The requested item could not be found" when trying to download it...

If you have a compatible device, you can download Firefox 4 Beta for Android by clicking the "apk" file on this page, using your phone's web browser:
    http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/releases/latest-beta/android-r7/multi/
    Short URL: http://bit.ly/fxmobilebeta
Note: While the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is compatible with Firefox for Android, the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro are not. For details, see: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#System_Requirements

    An update to quote mbrubeck:
Firefox will not appear in the Market for most phones with incompatible hardware. You can check if your phone is supported here:
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android
Even on some supported devices, a bug in the Market software prevents Firefox from showing up. This may be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose "Uninstall" you can uninstall the update, and then search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.
Or, if you have a supported phone, you can download the app directly by typing this address into your phone's browser: http://bit.ly/fxbeta3
(Note: To download the app directly for an AT&T phone, you will have to search for instructions on "sideloading" the APK file, since AT&T disables the option to install from non-Market sources.)

  • I keep getting the "some items could not be found" error.

I keep getting the some items could not be found error for some podcasts I downloaded then deleted. Unfortunately, now, I can't get rid of the error message. So I'm trying to search for said podcast to re-delete the entry. And it's not there. And I can't find it anywhere else. How can I fix this?

Another user named Springbk posted a fix that worked for me as I was having the same problem today:
I Changed my DNS settings to OpenDNS
On a Mac go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES>NETWORK>ADVACED>DNS
    change DNS by adding ( + )
    208.67.222.222
    then
    208.67.220.220
click okay/apply after. then try the update. after the update, just delete the two open DNS server numbers. should revert back to your old one.

  • Remove-DfsnRootTarget - The requested object could not be found

    Hi,
I just discovered that both target paths in a DFS root target is referenced by NetBIOS name, not FQDN (the names is generalized):
    Get-DfsnRootTarget -Path \\Contoso.local\AccountingSoftware| Format-List
    Path                  :
    \\Contoso.local\AccountingSoftware
    TargetPath            :
    \\Contoso-FS1\AccountingSoftware
    State                 : Online
    ReferralPriorityClass : sitecost-normal
    ReferralPriorityRank  : 0
    Path                  :
    \\Contoso.local\AccountingSoftware
    TargetPath            :
    \\Contoso-FS2\AccountingSoftware
    State                 : Online
    ReferralPriorityClass : sitecost-normal
    ReferralPriorityRank  : 0
The goal is to remove and re-add the target paths one by one in order to use FQDN.
When trying to remove one of the targets, I receive the following error:
    Remove-DfsnRootTarget -TargetPath "\\Contoso-FS2\AccountingSoftware" -Path "\\Contoso.local\AccountingSoftware"
Remove-DfsnRootTarget : The requested object could not be found.
What could be the reason for this? I get a similar error message both when using the DFS MMC tool and dfsutil.

    Hi,
I am in the process of windows patahcing our estate with SCCM 2012 R2. All going well, except for 3 machines which have the error: "The Specified procedure could not be found" when the user logs in. I have tried to log in my self, created a new
local account (via my machine remotely), but still no luck. Have checked Event Viewer and Windows Update but cant see where it failed. Been checking the net for fixes but no luck. The machine is a Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise 32 bit, info for server if needed
is SCCM 2012 R2. I have attached the WindowsUpdate log, incase that can help? I dont want to spend ages removing previous updates (via SCCM) as I dont have the time!
Wont let me attach the windowslog! If any one can help, be great!

    Hi,
    Let's make clear your issue.
Did you logon these 3 computers?
Have you tried to install the Windows Update manually for these 3 computers?
    If no, have a try.
If yes and the error still persists, try to
reset Windows Update components for test.

  • The requested item could not be loaded

    Hi

My network supplier O2 aren't much help, I'm on pay as you go but this is not a prob as a mate has blackberry pay as you go on O2 and has downloaded it.
We can't figure out between us what I am doing wrong. Does anyone know what I can do?
    Any help is appreciated
    Cheers

    @avoidscandal
    do I understand correctly?
    - you have successfully installed AppWorld
    - you have successfully created your BlackBerryID
    - you have successfully logged in MyWorld using your BlackBerryID in AppWorld
    - you can successfully view an application in appWorld, description and screenshots and reviews
    - when you click "install" button, sometimes you have immediately "Error - requested item could not be loaded" or immediately "Error - the host interrupted the http"
are those the exact error message? Can you say which application install try brings which error message?
what is you OS version and your device?
    and what is your carrier?

  • Recently got a new computer and installed itunes from external drive - all music shows up in the library, however when i click on a song i receive this message "the song could not be used because the original file could not be found".  What do i do?

I recently got a new computer and installed itunes from which had been saved onto an external drive - all music shows up in the library, however when I click on a song I receive this message "the song "abc" could not be used because the original file could not be found".  What can I do?

I was given the option to locate the file where the song is held. If so select "locate" and direct it to the folder / file where the song is and open it. itunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will do it automatically instead of doing them one by one. I hope this helps.

  • I have a new hard drive as my old one crashed. Everything seemed to transfer fine except for my entire iTunes library. It shows all of my old songs, but when I click on one it states "the song could not be used as the original file could not be found

I have a new hard drive as my old one crashed. Everything seemed to transfer fine except for my entire iTunes library. It shows all of my old songs, but when I click on one it states "the song could not be used as the original file could not be found.would you like to locate it".
Either how do I locate it, and I've tried every trick I know, or how do I restore all of my songs from one of two sources. I have my old hard drive backedup on an external drive which should have all of my songs, and I have most of my songs on my old iPhone 3S which I'm using as a backup iPod.

The "missing file" error happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place. In the case of a library moved from one system to another there are also potential permissions issues. See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Due to a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say No twice!) Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case.
In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info but this time click Locate and browse to the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links.
If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed the files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it hard to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is expecting. In such cases, as long as the missing files can be found somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.
