When I click to open tabs it's opening them in a new window. I don't recall changing any settings and this feature is maddening for me. What's going on?
I use a PC laptop with a touchpad as my mouse. When I right click on a link and click "Open Link in New Tab" it opens the link in a new window instead. I have a few Add-ons but none installed recently, and this problem started this morning for some curious reason.
Has anyone ever seen this before? I sure could use some help.

You can probably force it where you want it with a keyboard shortcut
either "Ctrl+click" or "Ctrl+Shift+click". see

I just installed Photoshop elements 11. Install of the application was fine. When I clicked to open Organizer, I received a messaging indicating that it was out of date and coudl not be upgraded. How can I address/fix this?

Jeff, I looked at your link and
a) again, I never make it to an error code
b) I'm definitely connected to the internet
c) I can access secure sites; I tried connecting with the firewall disabled and the same thing happened, so I don't believe it's a firewall issue.
d) I don't understand the checking host sites - this is far too complicated for a novice user. It should not be this difficult to get a software running. I don't want to mess with these kinds of settings.
e) I followed the steps for the global sign in root CA and my screen looks the same as the picture here.
I can't activate the software offline as there is no option to generate a response code when I click on having trouble connecting to the internet. All I get is a prompt to change my password.
If the problem were simply connectivity from my computer, then why does the box completely freeze? Can't cancel, can't click on the little X to close it, can't right click on the box to close it. I have to reboot every single time. I know others have had the same problem and I haven't found any answers that I could apply.
I don't understand for the life of me why Adobe does not have TELEPHONE customer support. I have spent 2 days on this, this is crazy. -
My mac is converting Word and Excel files into Pages and Numbers files when I click to open them from an email. Downloading them and opening them doesn't help. How do I make this stop? I don't use iLife and don't want to; my clients are using Office and it's easier for me, except when I have to copy and paste everything they send me from an iLife file back to Word and Excel. Help!!! It's like Apple has become Microsoft, forcing us to use their apps.
Do you have Word & Excel installed, if yes, navigate in the finder to an example of each, right click and select 'Get Info' scroll down to 'Open With' and select the appropriate program, check the box that says 'Change All'

Simply put, I do not like like the new color coding "dots" and I do not like having to press the Command key before double clicking to open files in a new window. How hard would have been to include the old version of these two features?

I have updated my iTunes to the latest edition and now my iTunes will not open saying MSVCR80.dll is missing from my computer and that i have to reinstall itunes. I have tried reinstalling twice now and this error message keeps appearing. What is going on?

Good grief! I had not plugged the USB jack all the way into the headphone port on the iPod. Having taken that action, the iPod shuffle works great. My bad, as they say.

Stops working when I chose to open something in a new window
When I open firefox, it takes about 5 minutes for it to actually open, and then if I go to a website and a new window pops up, or if something auto opens in a new window, or if I choose to open something in a new window, firefox stops responding, so I have to open up the task manager to end it and then restart it again. I've checked my plugins and made sure everything is up to date and have tried reinstalling firefox, and it's still having problems.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Often when I open Firefox, in the middle of a session it'll stop responding to my clicking on a link to open it in the same window. It'll show the url in the bottom when I hover over it but will do nothing when I click on it. It will only work when I either right click on it (then select open in new window/tab) or command click on it (opens in new tab automatically). I've noticed that it happens a lot when clicking on a link for a Google search result, but I know that it's not exclusively there, and it probably just sticks out more in my mind.

No matter where the link is - in an e-mail or on a web page - the "Open in new window" feature does not work. Very annoying. Also I close Firefox in a session, but then cannot re-open it. When I shut my PC down I get a prompt to End Task -[ Firefox ] and a window opens asking if I want to save tabs and quit; quit; or cancel. After closing Firefox it does not show as an application running in Task Manager

When I go to download the version for a desktop pc it brings up the window with the administration and password box. This is a single computer and I don't have an admin. password. The other open is what I named the computer and when I click that one the box disappears and there is nothing. What do I do?

I've never had this problem before and I don't think that I have downloaded anything that would affect this issue. I do have the Download Manager Tweak 0.9.2 installed.
Ok-I have done the following: in this order
1) scanned for viriuses with MSE & SPYBOT
2) disabled DOWNLOAD MANAGER
3) searched in Download Applications where .JPG is not listed but PICT file is (should I assume that it's the same thing?) with QUICKTIME as app.
4) deleted MIME TYPE.rdf in the Profile Folder
5) went to "about:config to reset 2 items suggested in Firefox Troubleshoot,
but they were not listed.
I need more suggestions PLEASE! Thanks.
