When i close an open tab, other tabs that are open unexpectedly close as well.

i often have many open tabs, which show below the quick-launch bar. when i attempt to close one [e.g., three mozilla tabs about different subjects] others close with only a warning, something like, "closing this tab will also close 6 other tabs."
another example: google calendar, which sometimes ends up with three open tabs below quick launch, even when i select google calendar from the bookmark toolbar.
i hope this is not convoluted. i tried my best to explain my dilemma.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

When looking at PDF's in one tab other tabs loose functionality, has this been reported?

When I open a PDF in one tab other tabs lose functionality. This can happen within websites or within my homepage of google. For instance unable to type anything in one tab until the PDF in another tab is closed, unable to use the right mouse button have to use keyboard shortcuts.
This happens 90% of the time a PDF is open.

When I select Show All Tabs in Safari 8.0.3 on an early 2014 MacBook Air, I see the tabs that are open on my iPad but not those that are open on my iPhone 6. I recently updated the phone to iOS 8.2. All my devices are connected to my iCloud account and Safari is checked in my iCloud settings on the phone. So I don't understand why the phone's open tabs no longer appear in Show All Tabs on the MacBook Air. The iPad is an iPad 2 and it's still running iOS 8.1.3. Am I right in guessing there's a problem with the iOS 8.2 update?

Two thoughts:
1. You never need to open any emails in the junk mailbox. You can simply do Mailbox > Erase Junk Mail from Mail's menu.
2. What happens if you hold the shift key after highlighting the first in a series of emails, then click the second one with the shift key depressed? That should hightlight both.

My hardware is :-
PCI MIO 16E-1 - 1 no.
SCXI-1000 chassis - 1 no.
SCXI-1520 - 4 nos.
SCXI-1314 - 4 nos.
MAX is showing all hardware ( DAQ card + Chassis + SCXIs), set in Multiplexer mode.
I am using MAX task to configure channels ( as per requirement ) and then use the same task in Labview 7.1
When I am trying to generate task only for connected channels then reading are coming some times....... but when i generate task for all channels including (not connected channels) then the reading are either on - side or on + side (max or min).
I have tried to ground the +S but not work
tell me some solution

No, DAQmx is superior and I strongly recommend you used DAQmx
Elijah, I guess I understood the problem that Sunder is facing, coz even I had experienced it 2 years back
What happens is if you scan only the channels to which sensors/strain gauges are connected, all is fine and you get good strain readings.
But if you happen to include an unconnected channel into the scan list, all the subsequent channels after the open channel will show saturated readings.

The problem we found, lies in the settling time of the E series DAQ card's ADC. Even we were using PXI 6071 E
Once the ADC saturates on reading an open channel, it cannot settle fast enough to read the next channel.Hence, the next channel also reads saturated value, instead of the correct value.
This is irrespective of the sampling rate because, this happened even when we did continuous sampling at low scan rates of 10 to 100 samples /sec
We found 2 solutions to this problem
Disable Simultaneous sampling and hold for the SCXI 1520 module ( using a DAQmx property node)
Use a M series DAQcard, which did not have this settling time problem

A Pages document will not open and there is a screen annoucement it will not open. Other Pages documents do open, but are slow. The one that will not open now was also very slow. My last visit to the Apple store the Genius Bar said I needed a new HD. Is this the final straw and it's time to take it in and let them replace it? Under warrently.

Do we know what document won't open?
Do we also know what version of Pages you are talking about, on what MacBook Pro?
Something tells me you are not using Mac OSX (10.7), the only thing you have noted.
If your Mac is running slow, the usual reason is your hard drive is too full. OSX likes 10-15% free space.

First, did you use Setup or Migration Assistant? That can happen when coming from a PowerMac or sometimes even from another (Intel) Mac.
Second, wait for the next version of Final Cut due very soon to ship (may have to wait for the ".1" of course to clean up any early issues.

Just open up iTunes on your computer -> Go to the iTunes Store -> Click your e- maill address (top right corner of the window) -> Type in your password for your Apple ID -> Under Computer Authorisations (underneath your Apple ID account balance and address) -> Press 'Deauthorise All'
-> This will deauthorise all computers and devices from your iTunes account -> you then need to re- authorise any computers/ devices you would like to use with your Apple ID for iTunes content -> to do this, select the Store tab along the menu at the top (where 'File', 'Edit', 'View' etc..... are) -> Then click 'Authorise this Computer' -> Type in your Apple ID -> Voila!
For any iOS devices (non- computers) you wish to re- authorise, these will automatically do so when you go to play iTunes content, download an app or anything like that on those devices!

That's called extended desktop mode. You can think of it as an extension of your main screen probably off to the right. Drag an app off the screen to the right and it will appear on the second monitor. You can see and adjust placement of the second monitor in System Preferences > Displays > arrangement tab. Drag the second screen around for your optimum placement. Also the little bar can be moved to either screen and that determines which screen will contain the dock/menubar.
Also you can toggle between Mirror and extend desktop mode by pressing CMD F1.

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
