I "upgraded"/ "updated" firefox to version 9.0.1, there are no newer updates offered. I used to be able to restore my prior session upon opening firefox the next time, now it doesn't even offer that link on the opening page. And it does not open a 'homepage' for firefox, just a blank page, with one empty tab/window, this is not an improvement

Try typing ''about:home'' into the address bar. Is that the page you are looking for? If so, go to ''Tools > Options > General'' and save it as your homepage. If that home page doesn't show up the next time you start Firefox, you should look at [[Preferences are not saved]].

After the file is downloaded, you begin the installation. When the installation starts, bring Firefox down with "Alt+F" (File) > Quit that is the proper way to bring Firefox down.
If Firefox is still running after a few minutes then take firefox.exe down from the Windows Task Manager, from the "Processes" Tab. Also you might want to take down the plugin-container.exe as well.

The phone remembers recently used numbers just like how Mail remembers recently used email addresses. As time goes by the phone will eventually forget unused number that are not in your contacts as long as you do not use it. Same for unused email addresses that are not in your contacts.

I am required to delete the file parent.lock but when i try delete it, it says its already in use and when i close firefox it dissapears and i can't find it to delete it. I tried a file unlocker and it says the same, so how do i delete it?

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. When I close firefox "everything " is cleared! EXCEPT when I open it again and anything i have copied to the clipboard (paste icon) remains lit... I believe this can be a security breach because I clear everything when closing firefox !!

I have my settings to clear everything when I close firefox ver 3.6.13. If I copy something to the clipboard, the Paste icon lights up so I can paste the text... which is normal.
The problem is when I close the browser and everything is suppose to clear (history, etc) the PASTE Icon still lights up for me to paste again.
This can be a security breach because I want everything cleared when closing the browser !!!
The only way I can rid myself of this problem is to restart the computer... which clears the clipboard of the operatinging... which is absolutely normal as well.
I should not have to restart the computer each time.

I only had a few addons installed, I disabled Zone Alarm toolbar, View Source Chart 3.01. I also had 5 separate java console updates/addons, and I uninstalled all but the latest java console 6.0.21. All I have now is Roboform 6.9.98, Firebug 1.5.4, Java console 6.0.21, Java quick starter 1.0. So far, so good, the problem has not occurred today. You don't need to restart your computer to open Firefox again: you just need to close it manually through your application manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC in Processes tab). Anyway, hopefully this support article is what you need:

What's probably happening is that you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Works fine for me, I can simulate your problem by improperly closing Firefox.
The correct way would be to close the windows you don't want and then to exit Firefox through the File ("'''Alt+F'''") menu then use '''Exit''' or '''Qui'''t depending on your system.
But '''I can simulate your problem''' by closing the good window with "X" in the upper right-corner first (the one with the app-tabs) and then close the other window by any means.
You restart Firefox and open a window, since you closed without app-tabs there are none so you just see a window with your home page.

My homepage will load about 30% and then i'm dead in the water. when i close firefox it appears to close but when i try to reopen it tells me that it's already running. started with beta 6 i deleated and loaded ver 5 no change

when i start firefox, everything starts normal then my homepage (igoogle) starts to load, gets to about 30% and stops. from there i can click on links or bookmark and a new tab will open but no page will load. i can't get anywhere. then when i close firefox it appears to close normally but when i try to reopen firefox i get a message that firefox is still running but not responding and the only way to shut it down is to reboot. when it first occured i was running beta 6 (since it became available, i also used beta 4 & beta 5) i then uninstalled beta 6 and downloaded and installed ver 5 same problem. i then did a system restore to a time before the problem.. no luck. i'm not sure what to try next. IE & chrome both work fine

I'm in exactly the same boat - dead at blue screen, only option is to salvage using target mode.
I don't currently have access to another Mac to do target mode. I was planning to buy a new Mac this fall anyway, though. 2 questions in preparation for that purchase:
1) Is there anything I can do before buying a new Mac to make the salvage process more successful? ie, should I spend the time and money going to the genius bar to have them help me get from totally crippled to partially crippled? (As for expertise, I'm a proficient consumer-grade user, but Apple Support walked me through the safe-boot process, etc.)
2) Is Apple going to provide 10.5 once it is released to people who buy a new Mac in these 6 weeks pre-release?

If I open a PDF doc in a new tab and then try and close the tab with ctrl-w it will try and close all tabs unless I switch to another tab and back again.

Running Firefox beta and Adobe Acrobat 10. If I open a PDF document in a new tab, say http://support.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100146419, and then try and close the tab using ctrl-w, I get the message warning me about closing all tabs. If I switch to another tab and then back to the PDF document and then hit ctrl-w, it will just close that one tab and not all tabs.

I've just been playing around and I set dom.ipc.plugins.enabled to true and now it closes the PDF document but not the tab. I have to do ctrl-w again to close the tab. However, leaving that set to true ruins the scroll mouse functionality as Acroread seems to want it all to itself.

You should definitely be able to upload multiple files by Shift-clicking or Ctrl-clicking the files you want to upload. Just to make sure you don't have an old version of the service cached, please clear the browser cache and then log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. After clicking the File Upload icon in the upper-right corner, you should be able so select multiple files for upload.
