Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin. Read all of the following articles.

If you have set this phone up, then there would not necessarily be a solution here until you have been verify with the provider that everything is provisioned correctly on their end. Since the 3G comes from your cellular provider, if the settings are correct on the phone, then you should work with the carrier next.

Hi Andis.
First of all, this is completely normal behavior, although it's a bit irritating, I know. What happens is that when you close Firefox, despite the window disappearing right there and then, Firefox keeps running for a little bit until the whole closing procedure is completed. This can take a fraction of a second on fast computers, or can take a few seconds on slow computers or when Firefox is storing a large session (if you save your tabs). All you have to do is wait a bit until Firefox closes, and then open it again.
To see if it's still running, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and then, under the Processes tab, you can see if firefox.exe is still there. If it's taking an unusual amount of time to close (which happens very rarely, and only if the browser freezes on exit), you can force the application to terminate from this application (task manager).
Firefox 4.0 will reduce by 97% the time it takes firefox.exe to close, so this problem will be basically erased for Firefox's next version.

I don't want Safari to re-open all windows from last session; can't make it stop. Set Safari preferences to new window and new tab open with blank page, but it won't.

P.S. Also cleared cache and History. Running OS 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7.

I hate this "feature", and it is another example of Apple taking functionality (and choice) away from the user. In this article:

99 times out of 100, I DON'T want to restore all the windows from my last browser session. It makes zero sense for them to take the checkbox out of the General tab of the Safari Prefs.

Firefox only opens with blank page regardless of any websites I go to.

I've tried re-installation, but to no avail. Even updated to the latest version to ensure that I don't miss out on anything. Nothing I've tried could work, I've restarted the computer for about 6 times and I think the only alternative left is for me to reboot my system, because evidently, the same problem persists in my IE as well. Only my Google Chrome and Opera seems to be working fine.
This problem happened after I installed the automatic updates on windows, I've tried uninstalling the update too, but it just opens with a blank page.
On a sidenote, my G-Mail account has been continuously hacked by an IP address in UK from January till now. Do you think that's relevant? I'm sure I didn't download any malware/spyware nor key in any login creditentials.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, maybe after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

PDF file gets open with blank page behind in IE7

Hi ,
We have recently upgraded the IE from IE6 to IE7 version.
Now when we are tring to open the PDF file ,it opens in Adobe Acrobat reader leaving the blank page in the behind.
Bur earlier i.e. in IE6 we were able to open the PDF in the browser itself , no additional blank page pops up.
We need to open the PDF in Popup page(i.e. in IE browser itself ).
Could you please let me know what settings need to do in Adobe Acrobat Reader/IE7 .

TextEdit 1.7 doesn't open with blank page - why?

Why the change, Apple, why?
I use TextEdit all the time - it's simple - I can copy and paste important web-realted writings, like the one I'm writing right now, in case the web crashes or my wifi goes out or yet another Safari bug appears. And when my writing is inspired, I can open TextEdit quickly and get the idea typed quickly - unlike other programs that take a moment to open.
But now, TextEdit has changed in OS 10.7.3, for some reason:
1. When you open the application, it reverts to whatever you were typing before, or whatever document was saved the last time you opened TextEdit. E.g., it doesn't open with a blank page. Why on earth would you change this? Now when I'm finished typing something, I have to select ALL and DELETE the work, so it doesn't distract me when I open a new document, or I want to save some completely new document. That simply adds up to more mouse-clicking in a long day.
2. There is no "save as" under File. Just "save". Again, why change this?
Apple / Mac, just ask yourselves, is this a "change", or an "improvement"?

Open With Blank Page?

After upgrading to Lion it seems that I am forced to open Safari with the last page viewed. I prefer to open with a blank page but that option is now missing from the Safari Preferences. Has Apple removed this option from Safari 5.1?

The first time I opened Safari after changing that setting it still came up with the previously viewed page, but since then seems to have resolved the problem.
Apple needs to make it an option in Safari, however, rather than requiring the resume feature to be disabled for all applications just to stop previous pages from loading when Safari is opened.

Go to terminal and type in the following:
defaults write com.apple.Safari ApplePersistenceIgnoreState YES
If you decide that you rather have the new resume behavior, execute the above commands but change YES to NO
You can also do the same for Preview:
defaults write com.apple.Preview ApplePersistenceIgnoreState YES

I like to keep 2 sessions open, but today a new session opens with blank page and no bookmarks - why?

I keep a session open pretty much all day but minimize it when I leave so someone else can use a session for whatever they want. Today when I open a new session (while mine is minimized) the page is blank and there are no bookmarks. I can hit the home icon and go to view and see my bookmarks but this is a pain

I was having the same problem. If you upgraded to Lion - apparently there is a 'general tab' in the system preferences that has a box that you need to un check. (The box says something about restoring all last windows from last session)
If you updated Safari but are not using Lion, here is how to fix it. Simply delete this item fromyour Mac HD and restart Safari.
[USERHOME]/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist

Portfolio opens with Blank Page in Reader

I created a portfolio in Acrobat 9 pro Extended, but reader opens the portfolio with a blank (white) page. This started happening about 2 weeks ago with the last Reader update.
It seems that the layout focus on the portfolio is set to a cover sheet, which I do not have. I have to manually set the focus to layout, then I can see the pages in the portfolio. What is causing this? Does anyone know? I would greatly appreciate your help. thanks!

This issue occurred in Reader version 11.0.7 and 11.0.8.
This is fixed in the Fall 2014 quarterly update of Reader 11, version 11.0.9.
Please update Reader to version 11.0.9 to remedy the issue.

when i close firefox and say go back to it say in 10 mins i get a error message saying to close firefox before opening!!! but firefox window is closed but the processes still say its running in task manager so to correct this i have to end process on firefox. this seems to be happening now every time in the last few days i have upgraded firefox to the latest version. any ideas on how to solve this problem.
