When I close my MacBook Pro and open it up again it doesn't turn on.
I have to hold the power button down and turn it on and off a couple times before it finally turns on. It's only a couple months old..
Since it's in warranty take it in for service in case there is a hardware problem.

For prolonged use, place your MacBook Pro on a flat, stable surface. Do not place your MacBook Pro on your lap or other body surface for extended periods of time. Prolonged body contact can cause discomfort and potentially a burn. -
When I close my Macbook Pro and re open it, the screen stays black, HELP.
The only way I can get it back is by holding down the power button and then it restarts and works fine!

i bought and downloaded iWork when i bought my macbook pro and i used to save my documents on words. then a few weeks ago, i downloaded a free trial of microsoft office but unregistered and deleted it a week after. now i can't save my documents on word. It used to ask me if I want to save my documents on word, now it doesn't. And the W icon keeps on appearing on my dock. Can I return my computer to an earlier date? Please help me. Thanks
No, I don't have a back-up of TIme Machine... to tell you the truth, I have this computer for a few years now and I still don't know how to work all of the apps that are here. Anything else I can do?

After buying a new Macbook pro and opening an iTunes Match account most of my music is grayed out on my Mac and iPhone. I have not turned on iTunes match on my iPad and all my music is fine. How do I get my music back????
The most efficacious way to get your music and other personal data onto your new Mac is to restore it from the backup you made of your old computer. Once that is done you can re-enable iTM on the new Mac and your iPhone.

I purchased the One to One when I bought my MacBook Pro, and I sent it in to Apple in order for the pictures and iTunes to be transfered. When I got it home no pictures or iTunes files were on it. What do I do?

If you already set up your Mac when you sent it, you should know that Migration Assistant creates a new user with the migrated data. Go to > Log Out, and log in the new user -
External Display wil not work when I close my MacBook Pro
Help! I'm using a Vizio LCD with Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse and I'm trying to use just the display with the MacBook Closed and Powered, but as soon as I do that the Screen on the VIzio dies. I worked for a while but now it won't work anymore. I can here the mouse and keyboard working but the screen on the Vizio will not display anything. bought a the only thing that I'm thinking is that i bought a cheap HDMI to DVI cable at Walmart..could that be the problem? 7 Once your computer's Desktop appears on the external display, close the MacBook Pro lid.
8 Once it's closed, wake the computer up by either clicking your Bluetooth mouse button or by pressing a key on your Bluetooth keyboard.

Issues when TC backs up MacBook Pro and iMac
I have the TC and the AX in one unit, and use this for wireless network/internet connectivity as well as backups for both an iMac and my MacBook Pro. Time Machine is set to back up hourly on both macs.
Since I have had the TC (I previously backed up on an external HD "My Book"), I have noted that when these machines back up, network connectivity gets much slower, and even my wireless (2.4 GHz) mouse that I use on a PC nearby seems erratic and jerky when try to move it. Is this related to too much traffic on my network for the available bandwidth? If I was to opt for a once-daily (nightly) backup using Time Machine and TC, is it possible to set preferences for that? When entering Time Machine preferences I see the setting for backing up hourly, but no apparent way to change it.
That may help the network connectivity when I'm up and around. It still doesn't explain why the PC mouse is affected unless someone has a theory on that?

I don't know what other details I can give you. I am not very computer wise. Just an every day web browser and emailer. This is a catch 22 problem. For example when I am installing a program; adobe flash player for example, it tells me to close firefox to continue and when I do I get the firefox is still running message even though there is no window. And so the installation isn't completed. I like firefox but this is a bit of a dealbreaker. hope you can help.

* Type in the address bar about:config.
* Accept the warning.
* In the page that appears, in the Filter box, type network.http.max-connections.
* Change the value to 32 (which is probably set to 256 in your case).
* Close the about:config page.
* Restart the browser. -
MacBook pro keyboard doesn't light up all the way, I don't know why and I was wondering how much it could cost for repairs.
If there is Warranty or AppleCare it will be covered at Apple Store. If no coverage, Apple does not repair iPhone 4 Power/Lock Button, for $149 they will give you a perfect replacement iPhone 4 exactly like yours with a 90 day Warranty. For the time being or as a permanent solution you can use perfect Virtual Lock Button. Tap Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap the new small white screen button > Device > Lock. You can even use this button to turn the iPhone OFF. To turn iPhone ON, connect to power, ie charger or USB port of computer.

I restarted my macbook pro and it cannot start again! what can i DO??
I restarted my macbook and when the apple logo appeared back it started loading endlessly and it doesnt open !! what should I do ? the only thing it allows me to do is to shut it down. I did so and still when I reopen after the logo appears it is loading endlessly and cannot open or even let me log in! please any info might be usefull!

Add-on bar doesn't stay off when you turn it off. The browser doesn't remember when I turn it off. Removing the icons doesn't help, they aren't all removable
I do use the add on bar but only occasionally and would like to be able to control its appearance, this is happening in XP & Windows 7. Thanks

I successfully paired a Bluetooth HMDX Jam Classic Wireless Speaker with my macbook and have been using it for months. Then suddenly it will not work. Has anyone else had this problem. It isn't the speaker. The best buy guys tested it and it still works with other devises. Got any ideas?

Ok so i have a 52 inch Samsung lcd...until a couple of hours ago everything was working perfect. I had my macbook closed, connected to the LCD, and i was using apple's bluetooth keyboard and mouse and it was just working perfectly.
About 2 hours ago i decided to try to change the resolution on the screen to make things bigger. I changed to the first resolution and i reverted back to the original cause i could not see...i then did another resolution and i don't know what i did but now my screen keeps saying "mode not supported".
I now have the display on mirror and i have my mac book open (by this i mean the computer's screen is working) and i can see perfectly on the samsung lcd...
When i close the macbook pro though the samsung lcd goes black and then i get "mode not supported"...
Is there any way to "restore" to the original settings i had before? i seriously do not understand why its not workingOS X stored two different preferences for a given display depending on whether it is being run as a sole display (lid down) or a second display (lid up). Unfortunately, the value stored for lid down currently is not useable, and every time the Mac is put in lid down mode, it keeps reverting to that same value.
If you follow the instructions at the bottom of the page in the following link about dealing with the windowserver.plist file, you should be able to get back to a fresh start.

I am very confused!! When I first used iTunes, I did not own any Apple products. When I purchased my MacBook Pro and a Mobile Me subscription a few years ago, my email address @me.com became my new Apple ID. I subsequently purchased an iPhone 3 and eventually an iPhone 4. Apparently over this time, I have used both Apple IDs at various times. Sometimes when I upgrade apps, the old ID will already be filled in and other times the new one will be instead. I always use whichever one is there with the appropriate password. This was probably a mistake. I just realized that my MBPro is authorized under the original Apple ID and not the current one. I tried to authorize it under the current Apple ID, but couldn't, so I was going to deauthorize it from the old one, but got a message about losing any purchases made with the original Apple ID. I don't want that to happen. Synching my iPhone in iTunes with my computer has been much more confusing since I got my newer iPhone. However, I don't remember anything about the process I went through to associate it with my iTunes account. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.
Log into the store using the old Apple ID to re-download them, however, you can not switch them into your current Apple ID except by re-purchasing. You can contact Apple support and see if they are able to help you.
