When I Combine Two Files They Bloat Up

My digital camera saves video files as *.mov files. I want to combine a few saved clips to one for posting on Youtube.
I go into Quictkime Pro, cut and past the video together, then I export as a movie file. However, the exported file is about 2.5 times the size of the input files.
If I try other formats like mp4, the quality suffers. Is there any way to do this without having the combined file bloat out like this?

When burning an MP3 CD with iTunes, you can have your choice of Artist folders, Album folders, or no folders (which is the one you want).
It all depends how the playlist is sorted before burning. See this guide:

Experts,
I want to combine two files as one in File adapter itself. I am using a simple scenario of File-to-File where i am just sending the file from sender to receiver as it is , EXCEPT, i want to add one line at the end of the file .
I was thinking of doing this in File adapter , avoiding any mapping program in Integration Repository ..
ANY INDEA's ??

You have 3 options,first one can be to execute a OS command before message processing or use adapter modules to append the new line in the sender adapter.
the second option(and better one) is to do this via message mapping.
third option is to write a OS script and execute it after message processing on receiver file adapter.
one thing you need to make sure is that since OS scripts run on XI server itself(not on FTP server) so in case you are picking file from FTP server and delivering to FTP ,then you can't use option 1 or 3,you can only use option 2

My links don't work when I combine another file with the pdf

My internal bookmarked links don't work when I combine another file with the pdf.
The external links continue to work fine, though.
This doesn't make any sense to me at all ... but I'm hoping one of you kind folk can help?

I opened my file and instead of merging files I used insert pages and inserted all of the pages from the file I wanted. Then I saved the file with
the same name. Attached is a rough draft of some helpful hints I put together. This has been a very painful process for us to discover how to handle
this and there really is not much help from Adobe.
Instead of merging files you inset pages. In Acrobat select Document - Insert pages -From file. You can select all pages or some and where you want them inserted. After you do that save the file not save as and all of your links should work. If you combine files or merge files all of the links will break.

I think it's something to do with naming, but I can't figure out what. This is because it asks to be saved and gives me a Binder no as the name. If I
press Cancel at that point, I keep the file and the links. But as soon as I need to close it, it asks me again 'Do you want to save this file' and if
I say 'Yes', I lose all the links, and if yet if I say 'No', I lose the whole file. So at some point it has to be saved but whether I keep the Binder
no name when I save it, or use the original name, it makes no difference ... it is in the saving of it that it looks the functionality, and yet, if I
don't save it, I lose the file.
This makes no sense to me....I hope it does to one of you.
For instance, Christine, how did you keep your file if you couldn't save it?

Depending on how the JPG was created (which software and/or which camera) there is sometimes "extra" information inside the file header that confuses Premiere since it is not part of the basic file specification

When searching for mov files, they don't show up in Finder

Okay, so I think I found a good bug. (bad bug). I copied a bunch of .mov files from two CF cards to an external ExFat formatted hard drive. Once I copy, I can see the data on the hard drive. I have two folders: "Card1" and Card2". Again, I can clearly see all of the .mov files if I just manually open the folders. But when I search for the .mov files on the entire hard drive, (for the purposes of counting the number of .mov files I have), only files from one of the folders are found. Even though they are clearly there, and they play, etc. This is quite strange. Any ideas? I'm on Mavericks.

Thanks Barney, I tried that but all that comes up in Spotlight are the log files that show the file paths! I don't know how Steam works. Are all the files held by Steam on their server perhaps?

When I burn mp3 files they appear as folders

when I attempt to burn the songs from mp3 files from 4 separate albums from an iTunes playlist they show up on the disc as 4 separate folders. when the album plays on my player only the first folder (the first album) plays and the CD stops. the songs from the other 3 albums won't play. The iTunes playlist doesn't show that they are separated by album. Very confused.

New windows 7 pc,have updated my itunes to newest version. All purchases are on screen as being on the cloud but when I download the files, they stay in place until I shut the computer down. on restart, they 'cannot be located' any ideas?

This is really annoying me. I have a new pc. running windows 7. All my media is showing as 'on the cloud'. I don't always have access to internet so I want the files on my pc. when I download from the cloud the songs play but seem to dissappear when I restart the pc. says file cannot be located and the file dissappears from my flashdrive I have it stored on. What am I doing that's wrong??

Batch Combining two files together into one

hi everyone, first time poster here and i would greatly appreciate any help in my dilemma.
im trying to batch process images into a single file using a script i got from the link below.
Ok, my problem....merging two unique files batch Process
my only issue im having is that i want the new batched file names to retain the foreground image file name.
right now the batched file name is "file0001.psd", "file0002.psd", and so on.

File Basics:
The jpg file format does not support layer. You are better off creating your layer file as a PSD and then generate a jpg file.
The PSD will be the master file for archiving and the JPG the working file.
Save the script as batchStaks.jsx in the Bridge Start up script folder.
Bridge >> Preferences >>Startup Scripts >> Reveal My Startup Scripts
Restart Bridge.
Create a Bridge stack
Bridge >> Stacks >> Group as Stack
Execute the batchStacks.jsx script from the Bridge Tools Menu
Bridge >> Tools >> Batch Sctacks 2.2.0
The script will save a layered PSD file in the same folder as the original file.
The layered PSD file will retain the name of the image behind the thumbnail stack thumbnail.
You need to experiment in Bridge with the image stack order to get the result you want.
What I do to create layered file which retains the name of the thumbnail image stack is:
I create a photoshop action which reverses the layer order.
Then I have the script run the action while it creates the layered file.
The result is a layered file that retains the filename of the thumbnail image stack.
The limitation is that the script dependes on the action file tho.

When I view PDF files, they become transparent?? If I turn off plug-ins then pdf is ok?? What do I do?

Not sure what else to say. When I try to view a PDF file, it becomes transparent & whiteish and I see my desktop through it. If I choose to turn off all plug-ins then it's ok. Soooo, I'm assuming it's something with the plug-ins. Perhaps a new update or something as I haven't intentionally changed anything at all.

This only happens to me when I don't have the window maximized. It also happens with other embedded media, such as parts of Pandora's interface.

Right click the original and select Get Info. Size is the second line under General.
Do the same for the file after it is moved to the folder.

When i open pdf files, they keep opening in new windows, i want it to open in a new tab, not a new widow.

SG, who offered a simple script on another of your topics is one of the scripting wizards on the Numbers forum. I am beginning to find my way within a Numbers file but reading a bunch of files into 1 is something I haven't attempted yet. Numbers 3 is very script savvy so it can be a very useful tool. A script I am using with some frequency updates certain popups on several sheets in a file.
One helpful website is http://macosxautomation.com/applescript/firsttutorial/index.html
You need to know that each Numbers file or document can contain many sheets. Each of those sheets can contain many tables. You might also hear a file refered to as a spreadsheet. The distinctions will be important if you being to script.

When I extract .rar files they always come out in .exe

okay, here i downloaded tons of things like audio files from safari and i got it in form of .rar, its fine though 'cause I got rar-extracting app "unrarX".#
Anyway, the thing is whenever I extract, I always got them in .exe which is bad 'cause I don't know what I can do with this format.
btw, I don't really think the problem lies in the app I mentioned.
