When I come in this morning, Firefox would not connect to the Internet. The pop up read "Unable to connect. Firefox can't estabish a cennection to the server at...." I opened Explorer, and it worked fine. I removed and reinstalled Firefox, it still won't work. I prefer Firefox, how do I fix this?

Did you download the Windows support software when you first ran Bootcamp Assistant? Did you install the downloaded Windows support software when you first booted into Windows?

After downloading the Firefox 3.6.15 update, my problems began. Firefox would not connect to the Internet. When I rebooted my PC, Firefox said that it couldn't access any Web sites. I uninstalled Firefox, then downloaded and installed Firefox 3.6.15. I still have the same problem: Firefox will not connect to the Internet. I am running Windows XP, service pack 3. I have XP Pro. I tried installing 3.6.15 and could not open it. I did a system restore and 3.6.14 would no longer open. I tried again installing 3.6.15 and got a message that the previous version had not uninstalled properly. Tried uninstalling.
As a precaution I used MozBackup to save my bookmarks etc. and also saved a system restore point.
I then clicked Start, My Computer, drive C, Program Files and deleted the Firefox folder.
I installed 3.6.15 and it is now working fine with all my bookmarks and addons loaded automatically.

I loaded 4.0 and rebooted. Now Firefox wiill NOT connect to the internet how do I fix this?

Email still works, crappy IE still works. I downloaded the new 4.0 ran the standard install, clicked finish, and Firefox has not connected to the internet since. I've rebooted a couple of times.

Open System Preferences/Network
Select the Location you use at home
You may need to click the Padlock bottom left at this point if it's locked, enter the admin password to unlock
In the left hand column drag the Ethernet connection to the top of the list and remove any you don't use
Click the Advanced button bottom right
Click the TCP/IP Tab
Set Configure IPv4 to Using DHCP
Click OK bottom right and you should see the Router IP number appear and a unique but similar one for your Mac
Click Ok then click Apply and close the Panel

Firefox dose not connect to the internet

After I installed the firefox 4.0 I can not connect to the internet anymore but I could connect through the explorer from the same cumputer, Itryed eferyyhing wireless or cable.

Windows 7 has a firewall which controls access to the internet on a program by program basis. It is possible that Firefox is not in the firewall's list of a approved programs.
Go to the Help feature and search on Firewall and read the information on how to allow a program internet access.
I don't use the Windows 7 firewall, I use ZoneAlarm's firewall. When I installed ZoneAlarm, I disabled the Windows 7 firewall and have never used. Thus, I can't give you detailed directions as to what you might need to do to allow Firefox to use the internet.
NOW - are you able to get to the internet with Internet Explorer, just as a test?
If not, then the problem may be elsewhere, such as your internet connection - dialup, DSL, Cable, etc.

About 1 year ago I helped to set up Firefox on my mother's computer. It worked fine until a couple of days ago. Now it no longer connects to the internet. The system is Windows XP, service pack 3. Internet Exporer does connect to the Internet on this computer. Also, I have another computer with Firefox and it works with no problem wirelessly. We tried removing Firefox and then reloading it and that did not help. We get no error messages. The internet and Firefox simply don't seem to see each other.

Please try each of the steps that follow, in order, until resolved:
STEP 1
Create a New User Account
System Preferences > Accounts
Click "+" to add a new account
Log off, and then, log back on with the new user account.
Try connecting to a Wi-Fi network with your Mac's AirPort.
STEP 2
Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Select AirPort > Advanced > AirPort tab
Under Preferred Network, use the minus button to delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list
Delete AirPort Keychain Entries (Note: only applies if you connect to AirPort/Time Capsule routers)
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in /Applications/Utilities
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.

I was having the same problem and the culprit was my web accelerator via Google Firefox. I have to turn of the accellerator before itunes will connect. Try that.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
