When I compress my folder I lose my css styles
Let me give a little bit more information,when and upload from dreamweaver it uploads in the browser with the css styles, but once I compress my folder it loses its styles, any help anybody.

Where my folder sits in my document I need to put it in a zip folder. before I place it in a zip folder I can open the folder and and view my html pages in the browser with the css styles. Works fine, but I need to put it into a zip folder so I can submit it for school project. The problem occurs when I do put it in a zip folder and I lose my css styles.
Just keep a quick note I have two drives which is my E: drive and my C: drive (I set it up on my E: drive, in the documents.) So only when I make the folder go into a zip folder where is directed to the C: drive in the temp folder and this is where I lose my css styles.
So when I initially set it up in dream weaver I set up my main root folder so it is on my E; drive which is in the library of the documents. In this folder are two other folders which is my images and css style sheets. In this main root folder I have my html pages. So I do have the css styles linked to all my html pages, they open fine in the browser from dream weaver.

Yes it is, but I have the same problem of the option does not appear with "right click" (I'm actually control-clicking), and COMPRESS is grayed out under the file menu. I'd like to fix it.
Hmm. After finding the Archive Utility,* I tried archiving the folder. It came out as .cpgz, ugh. Found there was a preference to make .zip the default. It worked!
And now…the menus are not grayed out. ?!?! OK.'

recently i've try to Zip/Compress a folder...but funny...the folder is 15GB after compress...it still 15GB...haaa...

The problem is H.264 goes way beyond Zip in compression. Since you already applied H.264, there isn't anything else that Zip can do.
If you want to preserve the quality, the only solution is to have big enough disks.

Probably not. When you send a document like a Word file, the text is not already compressed. There are still many patterns that can be condensed and spaces that can be closed up. When you zip that document, it can take advantage of all those opportunities for compression, and the file size goes down.
But again, your H.264 files are already much smaller than uncompressed video. It's already crammed together as far as it will go unless you want to lose more quality. Therefore Zip cannot do anything more, and the file size stays the same.

Compressed (zipped) Folder - missing in Windows 8

I see the following file exists in my SendTo folder (C:\Users\Chirag\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo), but cannot see the item in the Send To menu.

Not sure if the file association is missing for .ZFSendToTarget file extension.
Also, when I tried the following command: rundll32
zipfldr.dll,RegisterSendto
It gave me this error: Error in zipfldr.dll, Missing entry: RegisterSendTo

Compressing a folder creates two zip files

I've got a folder called Blanks/ABC FM/SMS/Other and when I compress it I get two zip files of the same size: one with the correct name and the other called Archive.zip. When I remove the space I only get the Archive.zip. When I remove the slashes I get the correct zip file only.
Is this a bug that I should report? How?

If you were expecting C/D to compress to C/D.zip instead of Archive.zip I think I have an explanation for that.
The unix file system which is the underlying OSX file system uses slash (/) as a path delimiter. So to use an example like yours, if you create a folder A on the desktop and B within A then that the pathname is A/B. But in reality, being on your desktop it is /Users/you/A/B, where you is your user id.
The finder tries to allow as many characters as it can for filenames. But the slash it cannot allow in a filename when recorded in the file system. So what it does is actually change the slash to a colon in the actual filename. Thus the filename "A/B" in the finder is, in reality, "A:B" in the file system.
I think this colon-equals-slash naming convention is what causing the finder's Compress to treat the name specially and it just changes it the output to be the generic Archive.zip.
Compress is there as a convenience. There's lots of other ways to do zips. There's third party utilities. There's zip command in the terminal (where you can play the finder's game and generate A:B.zip so that it displays in the finder as A/B.zip).

I consider myself an expert at troubleshooting (being in support for over 10 years including time as a Lead Technician doing Windows 2000 support focussing on performance), and have checked quite a few things to try to pinpoint this issue, but I just can't find the cause.
I am asking others if they have seen this issue. I need to know if it is only on my workstation, or if others are seeing it as well.
Have you ever right-clicked, chose new folder and then had to wait 45 seconds for a new folder to appear.
Then the same thing when you try to rename the new folder, a hang of about 45 seconds before the new name take affect.
Anyway, let me know if you have experienced ths.

Hi,
I suggest you temporarily uninstall the antivirus program to check the issue. You need to make sure that you have the installation file to reinstall it later.
If it does not work, I suggest you also test the issue in Safe Mode and Clean Boot to determine if this is a hardware or a software issue.

In PSE 13, when I open a folder, jpeg files have a preview image, but PSD, DNG and CR2 files don't. Also, no thumbnail below the file list.

Working in PSE 13, when I open a folder, jpeg files have a preview image, but psd files just have white sheet of paper as preview. I have to open the file to be able to see it. Also, there is no thumbnail of the file below the file list.Surely, there's a setting that needs to be changed. I did not have this problem with Elements 12. This is a real bother because I have to use Lightroom to see all the file types. It seems as if Elements is using the standard Windows file loader that can't show previews of file types it doesn't know including .PSD, DNG and CR2. Is that a bug or did I do something wrong? I am using Windows 7 64 bits. Working in the editor, I never use the organizer. The screen above is not the same at all that I got in Elements 12, it was completely different and showed me a thumbnail below the listing when I single clicked on one of the files. In Elements 12, I also could see a thumbnail of all the file types, not only the jpegs. It is as if the loader is the regular Windows used anywhere, not the right one for Elements. I hope someone understands my problem.. Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion - I tried it but still didn't work. When I click "New Folder" it gives me the pop-up to name the new folder, but doesn't put a new folder anywhere in my Project Library.

iTunes does not actively scan the media folders. If you manually add content to a folder, then you must add that content to iTunes manually via the File > Add File/Folder feature.
The only folder that gets scanned is the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder.

Apple Finder webdav client launch many GET requests when I explore a folder

I write a WebDAV server in Python.
I found one issue with Apple Finder WebDAV client and I've noticed same
issue with apache mod_dav server.
Issue : when Finder explore a folder, Finder download the totaly of all files !
I don't know who do all this GET requests ? Spotlight ?
This is very boring because if I've some big file in a folder, all this data
are transfered on my bandwidth.
Have you see the same issue ? Who does this request ? How can I disable this
transfert ?
