My iPod touch screen says it is disabled. Connect to iTunes. When I connect the device to the computer a window pops up and said that the iPod is locked and I need to enter the passcode on the iPod..... I can't get it to do anything. Any ideas?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I recieved the following message when I connect my device to the computer: This Ipod cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started. What's wrong?

Just updated to IOS 7 and two issues:
First when I connect my iPhone to my computer I get this error message:itunes was unable to provider data from sync services". I'm not sure what this really means...
The second issue is when I try to select "Manually Manage Music"
The iPhone "My iPhone" is synced with another iTunes libary on "MY-PC". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music. I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
Anyone have any ideas?I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. When I connect my ipad to my computer it goes to IPhoto not ITunes
I am trying to transfer FileMaker databases to FileMaker Go and instead of going to ITunes when I connect, it goes straight to IPhoto? Anyone know how I fix that?
Launch iPhoto and go to iPhoto>Preferences>General>Connecting camera opens>no application. iPhoto should not launch now when you connect the iPad. Quit iPhoto.
Launch iTunes and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices> and uncheck the box that says Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically - if the box is checked. Click OK and quit iTunes.
Also launch System Preferences and go to Users & Groups>Your Account>Log In Items and make sure that there is a checkmark in the box next to iTunes Helper in order to select it as a log in item. Close System Preferences.
Restart your Mac and try again and see if iTunes opens when the iPad is connected. -

I have iPod Classic in Disk Mode and what do I do next cause it's not showing up in iTunes?
Does the iPod appear on your desktop as an external hard drive? Has the iPod ever successfully connected before? Disconnect your iPod and reset it using the Select (Center) and Menu button combo. Then reboot your Mac, open iTunes, and reconnect your iPod to a high powered USB 2.0 port and see if it's recognized.
Have you worked through all the troubleshooting here?

I want to use an old 3 GS iPhone that is no longer in service as a phone now as just an iPod to play music. When I connect the phone to the computer with iTunes running, iTunes says it can't connect to the device because it didn't get a valid response from the device. How can I get the system to recognize the phone, and let me rename it as my iPod, instead of my phone?
As an aside, the current installed operating system on this old iPhone is 4.2.1, but that wasn't one of the selectable options in the operating system list dropdown below. Don't know if that makes any difference.Hi maddogdne,
