When I connect my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.4) to iTunes it gets stuck when syncing on "waiting for items to copy"
My iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4 gets stuck on "waiting for items to copy" when syncing to my iTunes (version 11.1.4). I've tried;
quiting and restarting iTunes,
updating iTunes,
restarting my computer,
restarting my iPhone,
turning off iCloud on my iPhone,
restoring my iPhone from a previous back-up,
disabling "automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" and
just leaving it alone for three hours to see if it would finish syncing
But none of these things have worked... I'm not sure what else to try. My iPhone suffered an error about three days ago when trying to update to the new iOS update and went into recovery mode. I had to restore from an old back-up and that is when my troubles began. However, I was previously (before the crash) having an issue where whenever I connected my iphone to my computer it would delete all my playlists. I'm not sure if any of that is relevant.

Stuck on waiting for items to copy in ios 8.0.2
I purchasing iPhone 6 and my phone has been stuck on waiting for items to copy in iOS 8.0.2 for TWO days! I had previously used folders from my computer to sync with my phone. When that didn't work I moved all my photos to iPhoto and it still will not sync photos from the iCloud PhotoStream (even though that is in iPhoto) or any of the folders/events that I chose to synce from iPhoto. Very frustrating after all the hype and waiting for this fantastic phone. Yes, I have tried restoring from backup also. If I do it again, I will lose the two days since. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!
Having the same issue. The only thing that has helped is backing it up to my computer then restoring, which I've done 4 times since I got the phone 4 days ago. it still messes up when I try to sync photos to the phone. It gets stuck syncing data, waiting for items to copy. Happens only on my iPhone 6. My iPhone 5s had the problem but after the last update it stopped.

when i connect my iphone to my laptop and open itunes it shows my iphone has nothing on it(no music, no movies, etc...) then when i try to sync it says iphone is is full and can only put in a selected amount of songs. Take in mind this is my first time to sync with this laptop(HP 15 ENVY) and as well my laptop is just brand new. just got it a week ago. so how do i fix this prob. and also when i open my itunes store and then view my account it says error occurred either debug it through Microsoft visual studio or close program. I tired copying all the .dll files to the itunes folder didn't help
I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. When I connect my iPhone 5 to my laptop and iTunes, I can't play movies from the iPhone on my computer.Why is that? Can I do this or it's not possible with iPhone5? With my iPod it's no problem.

You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet. -

Ive got the same problem, just got my iphone unlocked, and they told me to sync it to itunes to get it permently unlocked, well everytime i plug my iphone in it says; it wont work as it needs up dating to 10.6.3, which i have already updated, but still doesnt work, so how can i get my phone unlocked?

When I connect my iphone four to my computer I no longer get the option to load photos from phone to computer. I think i have a driver problem as well. What should I do?
The AutoPlay function on the computer is controlled in Control Panel. Also, there needs to be current photos that have not been imported to the phone for it to start, and also the phone needs to be unlocked if you have a passcode on it. If you have not been prompted to "Trust" the computer on the iPhone and answered that, it will also make a difference.
Do you have the latest version of iTunes on the computer? What makes you think that you have a driver problem? You can take a look at Step 5 in this support document to see if that helps your driver problem. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 -
IOS 8.1 waiting for item to copy with iPhone 6
Anyone has the same issue while syncing iPhone 6 with iTunes? Mine won't go pass the last task which is waiting for item to copy. I waited for an hour and it was the same. I'm using iTunes 12.0.1.26 with OS X Yosemite.
Since I attempted to sync this morning, I did not have a chance to troubleshoot more before work.
I will try the following later:
1) Turn off iDevice, restart PC, re-sync
2) Turn off iDevice, uninstall iTunes, restart PC, re-sync
3) Turn off iDevice, uninstall iTunes, restart PC, backup to iOS 5.0.1 & re-sync
4) Return iPhone to Sprint for another one. -

First of all, thanks for the detailed notes of the troubleshooting steps you've already tried. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what is going on in your specific case, but I do have a few more ideas for you to try.
Starting with just one of your iPads, when you get stuck on the "waiting for items to copy" step, just disconnect your iPhone. There are probably some orphaned or corrupt files that need to be addressed. I would suggest closing all of your open apps and then backing your iPad up to iCloud. Then review the articles below to move or delete any big files on your device. These can include Voice Memos (iPhone), music, photos on your camera roll, photos or videos that are attached to your Messages, email attachments, etc.

Syncing iphone and saying waiting for items to copy
Did all updates to macbook, iphone and ipad. ipad syncs fine with computer and itunes, iphone goes thru all steps and is at Step 8 of 8, Syncing genius data with "iphone", Waiting for items to copy.
However, nothing happens at this point. let this step run for 4 hours and nothing further. Have to manually cancel sync. Is anyone else having this issue and know of a way to fix?
ThanksWell at least I am glad I am not the only person with this issue. I do hope that the Apple tech people read the discussion boards. Just to be clear that my iPhone does synch using iTunes but I get the error on step 7 with: "synching Genius Data to iPhone and waiting for items to copy". If I manually end the synching I get an error message that my phone is still synching do I still want to eject. When I do eject the phone however, the phone and iTunes are indeed synched. It is a bit annoying but I can at least I am able to synch my phone.

I really don't appreciate the fact that no one from Apple seems to be dealing with the many, many threads that have started on this topic since iOS 7 came out. In any event, I seem to have solved my problem with a full software restoration -- that is, iOS software restoration.
I clicked on "Restore iPhone..." which does a complete reinstall of the iOS but also all apps, photos, songs, etc. Took about 45 minutes, but seems to have worked.
I had previously tried reverting to a backup of my iPhone, but that did not solve the problem. Only a full restore solved it. -
Synching iPhone after factory restore and restore from backup; synching appears stuck on Step 5 of 5, "waiting for items to copy." That message displays for hours with no apparent progress.
I never had this problem, but just noticed it happening.. Please note it's a BUG. I went out and bought a 128GB iPhone just to hold all my songs. It wouldn't work. This never happened with the iPhone 3/3s/4/5/5s but started happening with the iPhone 6. After 40 hours of working through all possible solutions on the web and with Apple cares support (supposedly senior level) They finally suggested what the problem was. I had "Convert higher bit songs to 128 aac" Checked. This does not work One more thing when I unchecked that, the sync took like 3.5 hours instead of the 9-12 hours is usually took even on the smaller iphones. I have 98.7GB of music. Before I was just syncing a list of specific songs.
The syncing seems to be random when it has the problem though. -
ITunes 10.5 and IOS 5 sync hang at "Waiting for items to copy", possible fix
After seeing many other threads, I am hesistant to start my own. However, I thought it worthwhile to share how I fixed this problem on my iPad 1.
SYMPTOM: iTunes sync doesn't complete, with the message "Waiting for items to copy" displayed. There are no error messages, and it appears that all content is valid and synced. It is possible to cancel the sync from the iPad (Settings -> General -> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync) or by exiting iTunes.
RESOLUTION: Select the iPad in iTunes, and in each category (Info, Apps, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U, Books, Photos) make one modification, just so the Apply button appears. Click Apply. The sync will restart, even if it's already stuck at "Waiting for items to copy".
On my iPad, I noted that if I de-selected the option to sync Books, one book keep re-checking itself after I clicked Apply: The iPad User Guide for iOS 5. I had downloaded this one via the iBooks app in the iPad. I right-clicked the iPad and picked "Transfer Purchases", but it appeared to do very little.
From the iTunes Library under Books, I deleted the local copy of the iPad User Guide for iOS 5, then synced again.
It worked! Briefly, there were extra messages about transferring the iOS 5 user guide again, but the Books category now worked correctly.
SO... it appears that the bug may be related to having items on the device which didn't get transferred fully during the "Transferring purchases" part of the sync.
SUMMARY: If you purchased some items then notice that sync doesn't work right, try deleting the local iTunes copies of the recent purchases and sync again.

hi, when i am sync my books from my mac to ipad even after 24 hours sync, itunes show "wait for items to copy" and the books in ipad are still not fully loaded.
how do i fix this, i have a large collection of books around 12000 booksNobody knows? Not even administrators?
Please it would be really nice to have help on that to take all the benefit of the remote app.

When I try to sync I get a message that says "waiting for items the sync" then it just stays there and runs for as long as I keep it hooked up. Any ideas?
I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!
