When I connect my iphone directly to my receiver then connect to spotify, it plays through both speakers but when I connect wirelessly through airport express it only comes out through one speaker. Any thoughts?

for some reason , when i restore my iphone 4s to factory settings my headphones work when listening to music or youtube videos but when i backup my information onto it , it only comes out of one ear bud and i just got a new one from the apple store. my old iphone 4s audio jack was messed up but i just got a new one with my warranty , can anyone help me please.
It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over. -
I hooked up external speakers and the sound will only come out of 1 speaker
I have an electronic karaoke system on my HP envy dv7 Notebook and I just bought 2 new Mackey Powered Speakers and a new Mackey ProFX12 mixing board. I can only get sound to come out of 1 speaker. How do I get the sound to come out of the Right and the Left at the same time? Thanks for any input or help you can provide.
You may have dust or a small object in your headphone jack. You can purchase cans of air from computing stores that can clear any dust that may be causing the problem. If that doesn't work then a larger object may have damaged part of the jack at which point it would be advised to visit your local Genius Bar and see what repairs they can offer. Try not to insert any other objects especially ones with sharp edges into the jack as this often creates further damage. Hope everything is working again soon.

I have a Creative X-Fi.
I installed kernel26 from the testing repository in order that I could use the card with Arch Linux, and therefore alsamixer detects my card.
I am able to play a sound file, however: sound only comes out from my front-right speaker. I have surround sound, and at the very least music should play from my front-left speaker, too.
I opened Amarok earlier on and inside the preferences where you can pick the audio device, there are lots of different devices, and when selecting some of them I was able to get the sound to come out from either the back two speakers, the front-right speaker, or the front-center speaker. As of yet, I've not been able to get the front-left speaker to work, and I am not sure how to get this all to work outside of fiddling about on a amarok preferences page.
Does anybody have any tips?

If you havent gone in there do it or if you have a graphical setup download the alsamixer gui version. Another thing is considering your sound card it might be installing as hda not legacy.. run dmesg and look for any troubles with in there involving sound card.. usually its a codec issue and you need to use the correct module in the alsa module conf file.. alsa comes with a text file containing all sound card model types with their respective codecs.

Vocals will only come out of left speaker
When recording vocals in GB09 sound will only come out of my left monitor. This is the only program that does this. What are some settings that I can check?
When you first create your 'real instrument' track the default setting is 'stereo'. However, you are inputting a 'mono' signal (your mic) so it will only appear out of one side. In the lower right corner of the inspector where it says 'input source' click on the drop down and switch the setting to 'mono' . Select either mono 1 or mono 2. You should now hear your vocals out of both sides!

Why does sound only come out of 1 speaker when I dock my iPod?
My son's Ipod only plays sound out of I speaker. When I dock the ipod on his ihome radio or my sony radio, sound only comes out of the left speaker. When I put other ipods on the same docks i get sound out of both speakers. It is just this one ipod that won't produce sound out of both speakers, no matter what docking station I use.
Likely it is a hardware issue for the iPod, you need to bring it for service

I've run into a very interesting problem with the sound of my 20" Intel iMac's sound. Ever since I moved into my new appartment, my Logitech computer speakers have only worked out of the left speaker. The strange bit is that if I plug any pair of headphones into the same jack I get perfect sterio sound. I've check my sound preferences to make sure the sound is balanced, checked multiple pairs of headphones (that are all known to work perfectly), multiple pairs of computer speakers (that are all known to work perfectly), I even plugged in my M-Audio fast track USB audio interface with the same results (left channel only with speakers, sterio with headphones) Another weird thing is that I tested both pairs of computer speakers with my roommate's 20" Intel iMac (same model) and both worked just fine.
I feel like I've run the gambit of things I could do to eliminate a faulty component. Do you think I have a faulty jack? something wrong with my software/hardware? I'm completely stumpped...anyone have any ideas?You've done a lot of testing such that it sounds like the jack and plug combination of the Logitechs and the iMac are just a hair short now, and the move is the only thing that changed. Can you compare the headphone plug and the Logitech plug side by side for length? Is one of them a straight plug and the other a 90 degree such that it can't get all the way in now? I'm sure you've tried pushing it in extra hard or wiggling a bit. One guy on here awhile back sent pix of his headphone port and the one right beside it on the back of his iMac, and the headphone one was recessed slightly deeper into the iMac's body.

You basically have two choices: 1) Find the best physical placement of the AirPort Express to support multiple locations, or 2) Get another Express to extend the wireless range of the first one.

Great, now headphone jack no longer works, volume only comes out of speaker
This phone is so frustrating. This past weekend, the sleep/wake button wouldn't work for a whole afternoon but started working fine afterwards. All of a sudden this evening, I can no longer use any headphones to listen to my music. Regardless of what earphones I plug in, the sound only comes out of the speaker for some strange reason. Has anyone else had this problem? I just finished buying protective screens for the crazy thing and now this happens.
I had a problem like that. I fixed it by going to settings -> general -> reset -> reset all settings. If that does not work, then you may need to visit the Apple Store and talk to a genius. They will most likely replace your iPhone.

Sound has started to come out of one speaker only. i've checked cords to amplifier etc etc and that is not the issue,. Anyone else had this problem?

Please try connecting a pair of stereo headphones to the audio port of your AirPort Express Base Station (AX). If you now get sound from both channels, the problem may still be either with the cables or the amplifier. If; however, you are still only getting sound from one channel, either the AX's audio port or its audio circuitry may have failed. -
Sound only coming out of 1 speaker at startup
I recently bought an Maudio to replace my x-fi, and the sound is great, and everything works fine, except when I start up, sound only comes out of 1 speaker. It isn't always the left or right, it changes. When I go into mixer and change the volume either up or down, sound returns to the missing speaker. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Worked around by running amixer to change volume levels in /etc/rc.local, IIRC. -
I bought a brand new iPad 3 and an Apple TV, both connected to the same wpa protected wifi network from home. It worked for a day, but when I woke up, the Apple TV couldn't be found anymore by either iPad, MacBook or iPhone. Anybody a solution for this?
Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?

Since yesterday my iphone 4 has started to freeze intermittently when unlocking. When it happens nothing happens (left it for an hour last night) until I reset the phone, but it's done it 5 times today. Never had this prob before. Any thoughts?
I had the same problem (freezing iphone when trying to unlock) today.
1) I made a backup of my iphone using itunes.
2) Went to my service provider and made a sim swap. So, I think there was a problem with the nano simcard.
Problem solved. -
When I connect my iPhone 5 to my laptop and iTunes, I can't play movies from the iPhone on my computer.Why is that? Can I do this or it's not possible with iPhone5? With my iPod it's no problem.
Reinstall iTunes. Make sure you follow the instructions in this support document to the letter. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet.
