i connect my ipod using my charger and it is shown on my computer (Windows 7) as a USB and it charges aswell but it doesn't show up on itunes.Whats happening?

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your Mac? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the Mac?

Has this iPod ever worked on this Mac or is this the first time you have time you have tried connecting it?
Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

When i plug my ipod into the computer it will charge but it won't open itunes?

As i plug in my ipod to my computer it sometimes charges and somtimes doesn't recongnize my ipod and im trying to put videos onto my ipod but can't because it won't conncet to the computer. it freezes when the ipods in but when i take it out it unfreezes :/ :/

IPod Appears As Connected But Doesn't Show Up On iTunes

I synced my ipod (an 80GB Classic) the night before and when I turned it on later it was like a clean slate; no music, no videos, just some pictures. Well I tried to sync it today but itunes prompted me to restore it to its factory settings because there had been an error. Now when I try to connect it, it doesn't show up on my itunes even though my ipod itself shows connection has been made. I have tried "the 5 R's", have the latest version of itunes and still all I have to show are the same few pictures... I've only had it for a little over two months and have had no problems prior to this, can someone please help?

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

ok, ive been having the dame problem as the guy/girl who posted it i went to the site and i restarted the iPod service, that didn't work, then i uninstalled itunes and it showed up in itunes the first time i pluged my it in but a message, i thnk it was "-48" something about not being able to sync but it synced all the songs but the next time i plugged it didn't show up in itunes and a message in the bottom syaing "Windows - Delayed Write Failed, Windows was unable to save all the data for the file I:\ipod.control

To start with I used an app on my Iphone to recieve the image from the Mac Mini and then try to find the right resolution on the MAC. Because every time I choose the wrong one the display went black. I could then still see the image on my phone and troubleshoot my way through...

2nd Gen iPod has video podcats on it, but doesn't show up in iTunes.

My iPod has almost 2 gigs of video podcasts, but I can not delete it off of the iPod. When connected to iTunes (Windows and/or Mac) nothing shows up under video or podcasts.
Any ideas as to how to delete the videos without having to erase and restore the whole thing?

IPhone 4 charging but doesn't show signs of charging and wont connect to windows pc

Hi. I tried to charge my iPhone 4 today however it didn't appear to be charging. I tried different cables, chargers, computers, turning the phone on and off - including holding the home button and lock button down simulationsly, but still wouldn't work.
I later realized that the phone was in fact charging as when I went to check it later the battery percentage had increased. However there is no evidence of charging when it is plugged in i.e: there is no charging icon in the battery bar at the top. Furthermore, the phone won't connect to itunes and isn't even recognised by my laptop. It just acts like it's not even plugged in (when charging and when plugged into my laptop). Any ideas of what might be the problem?

Check out the articles below to first get it recognized and then troubleshooting the charging issue. If you can get it recognized, check to see if there are any updates that can be done to improve that connection.

A lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.

My Iphone is plugged into my computer and the chargins icon in the top left corner of my phone illuminates, but the iphone doenst show up under "devices" in Itunes.

If your computer is running Windows, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Check to see if "Apple Mobile Device" Service is Started. If not right click on this service and select Start. Also make sure Startup type is set to Automatic. If not, right click on this service, select Properties and set it to Automatic.
