When I connect my ipod touch to itunes, itunes automatically downloads all of my old apps onto my ipod. how do I stop it?
when i connect my ipod to itunes it starts a sync and then a backup. then at step 5 of 5 of the backup itunes starts to download all of my old apps to my ipod and then i have to cancel the sync and then on my ipod all of my old apps are grayed out and i cant even delete them. this happens every time i plug my ipod in. how do i turn this automatic download setting off?
Was any error message given? They usually are.
Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

just bought iphone 4 today from verizon and had the same problem. this is my 1st smartphone ever. apps all synced when i plugged it in to my computer except the music. this is what i did and it worked. plugged in phone to computer. then under the devices tab i clicked on the music tab. if you look to the bottom right of the itunes page there will be two tabs you can click on. one says settings and the other one says autofill. i clicked on the autofill and then it just started syncing. that was it. i'm not a tech guy by any means. just kinda of got lucky. i hope this helps you out. good luck!

my iPod touch needs to be restored. however, all of my movies/apps/songs/photos are not backed up on my computer because the shop on my computer does not work. can i still get the memory on my iPod touch 32gb back?
If you weren't able to sync the purchases to a computer previously and now your iPod needs to be restored so you can't sync it now, then you may be out of luck and will need to purchase your content again. Officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure that the birthdate you specify results in an age of at least 13 years

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases. Make sure you redownlod iTunes purechases before changing since you may run into the 90 day period

Everytime I download something from iTunes, iTunes automatically starts first downloading all previous movies I've ever rented...again. How do I clear these rental movies from my queue. I've watched all of them and the time period has expired for all of them.

Will updating my ipod touch with the new update erase all my pictures/music/apps?
I want to get the new update, but I have music on my ipod from other people's computers. Is updating my ipod going to erase everything on it and start all over?
The update itself will not affect your music. However, anytime you do a major update like this one there is a risk that there could be other issues that would require you to restore your device (not likely, but possible). Therefore, you should back up your device before you do the upgrade.
Back it up to iTunes on a computer, or to iCloud. Then do the upgrade to iOS 7.
That way, if you do have an issue that requires a restore, you can restore it to the backup you created.

ipad is disabled and i had connect to itunes. but when i connected to my computer, its not sinc automatically , still ask me to enter the pascode first. so how can i restore my ipad ? seems my laptop didnt know or never get sinc with my ipad.
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup

For whatever reason the device box only shows the IPAD. I have my other IPOD hear but the system doesn't try to locate it. Could this mean I don't have the CLOUD on my IPODS like I thought? My IPOD is turned on but it's not in that box. I know I updated all 3 in February because I can see it when I go edit, preferences and device. Sorry to be a bother I just don't understand.

My iPod touch 4G 8GB, lets me download apps on iTunes, but when I go to my iPod, and then apps, the entire selection is grey and won't let me click my new apps to add to my iPod. Usually I just restore my ipod and re-download everything, but thats time consuming, and after I unplug my ipod from the cord connected to my computer, I can replug it right after and this will pop up again. I'm getting tired of doing this.
Like I said, it will let me download the apps off iTune, just when I come to my apps page on my ipod, it won't let me add it to my iPod. I can't download it straight from my ipod either, but iTunes doesn't work on my ipod, and when I update my apps, when they're in waiting they never move. What can I do?I would say that you are not connected to the iTunes library you last synced with. You can only sync with one iTunes library. If you connect the iPod to another computer/another iTunes library then you get what you see.
You can only manually manage music and videos among different libraries, not apps. -

I dropped my iPod Touch in a puddle on a camping trip and I sent it to the Pod Drop. I told them that I am only concerned about getting the photos of my family and friends from the device. I know that all of the songs are saved in iTunes on my computer. They told me that they were not able to retrieve the pictures from my device. I recently sync'ed my iPod Touch before it broke. Do the photos that I save on my iPod Touch save to iTunes or to my computer when I sync the device? If so, how do I retrieve those pictures from iTunes or from my computer?
Also, if I buy a new iPod Touch how can I transfer my songs from iTunes to the new device?

LukePhotos taken by and saved to the iPod are included in the backup that iTunes makes evetime you sync or if do a manual or iCloud backup.
Per the following the backup includes:
iTunes: About iOS backups
Camera Roll (Photos, screenshots, images saved, and videos taken. Videos greater than 2 GB are backed up with iOS 4.0 and later.)
Note: For devices without a camera, Camera Roll is called Saved Photos.
Thus if you backed up after the photos were taken yuo can restore an iDevice from that backup
