When I connect video projector via mini VGA to MacBook Air, the projector will not recognize the computer.
I have no problem projecting PPT but when I try to project a video in whatever format, the projector does not recognize the computer. Suggestions?
Sorry I'm no help. I'm just here to say that I'm having the same issue and add a bit of info. I've always projected DVDs, with no problem, until I upgraded to OS X Mavericks. I'm teaching in the same room this semester, and now as soon as I plug in the VGA cord the DVD shuts down and I get a message saying "disc not supported." (The DVDs play fine on my computer--the problem arises when I plug in the cord.) Like you, I have no problem projecting my PowerPoints or images from the web. It's just the DVDs. Anyone? Help!

Is the TV set to take input from the HDMI connection?
On your computer, if you open the Displays preferences and do not see an Arrangement tab (or there is an Arrangement tab that shows only a single monitor) then there is something physically wrong with your connection. Try clicking Detect Displays just to see if the computer can now sense the presence of the connection. Check your connections.
If you do have an Arrangement tab, and it shows two screens, then click Gather Windows to bring the TV's Displays preferences on to your main screen if the TV is not yet showing an image. Set the proper resolution (probably 720p, 1080i, or 1080p). Set the refresh rate (probably 60Hz) if that preference is shown. You should see a picture at this point. I recommend turning off mirrored displays if it is enabled. -
When I try to install WinXP using bootcamp, the iMac will not recognize the CD after it has already read all the information and is ready to begin installation. What is the problem?
If your on 10.6.8 like you should be for security/stability updates, somewhere along the line a later Bootcamp version was issued and only supports Win 7.

Type "ipad not recognized in itunes" or similar into the search bar at the top of this page by "Support".

Will not recognize the Lucid LG when connected with USB
My Dell will not recognize the Lucid LG when connected with USB. Both the computer and phone gives a split second prompt that they are connected but then goes away immediately. After reconnecting it several times however it will finally recognize the mass storage. How can I get away from the hassle of multiple re-connections before it finally recognizes that connection?
That's some helpful information about your issue samrmusso! Some recommendations that I have for you is to try a different USB port on the computer to see if it isn't an issue with that specific USB port. Are you using the cable that came with the device (recommended) or a 3rd party cable (may not support data transfering properly)? You can also try restarting both the device and computer and retest. My MacBook Air 13' (2013) will occasionally start the fan at full blast, not connect to any wifi or detect any wifi, and will remove the battery icon from my menu bad as well as tell me there is no battery connected. How do I fix this? I have restarted my computer multiple times, **** it down, and ran a diagnostic test to tell me nothing is wrong and my computer is not running any applications. There is no reason for the fan to be on full blast! when I try to set the option to show my battery icon in the menu bar, it will automatically uncheck. How do I fix all of this?

When I have visited travel websites I can not 'click' on the Calendar. I tried to buy a book and checked off to be visit as a guest - and the website did not recognize the button I had checked off. I tried to edit on 'online profile" and the website does not recognize that I have clicked the 'edit' button.

Whenever I update from Windows 7 get error 1602, iPod shows USB connection to iTunes, but iTunes will not recognize the device. None of the Apple documentation helps. The Apple Mobile Device driver is loaded and operating. The anti-virus software and firewall are not at fault (were uninstalled, and made no difference). The iTunes on my older machine running Vista does recognize the inoperative iPod (iTunes has detetced an iPod in recovery mode) and allows me to restore the device. Can anyone help to resolve this problem on the Windows 7 PC?

Ensure proper USB isolation troubleshooting has been performed, and test with a known-good cable.
Follow the steps listed for Error 1604.
This error may be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Sharing via email says the server did not recognize the username and password combination
I am trying to share photos in iPhoto via email (gmail) and it says the server does not recognize the username password combination. I have deleted the email account rebooted iMac and re-entered the gmail account info and I get the same message. I have confirmed the username and password are correct.
LarryHN I guess I should have clarified that. I did try it that way and I am able to email pictures with mail set as the email client. When I change it to iPhoto as the email client is when I get this message. I have the same setup on my Macbook and it works great for emailing pictures from iPhoto. Although I can send them through email client, I prefer doing it through iPhoto.

I have changed my Apple ID when I got a new email address and confirmed it. However when I go to my iPad to buy an app my old Apple ID comes up and will not recognize the password. I tried going into the settings on my iPad and tapping on the old Apple ID to go in to change it but it will not recognize it and I cannot get in on the iPad to change it. How do I change this ID on my iPad for the iTunes store?

I'm having problems uploading video taken with my iPhone 4 to Photobucket. FB will not accept the file extension which is ex. IMG_423. They will play on my computer and will upload to Facebook. Why is the phone taking video with this file instead of something like .mov or mp4. How can I change the extension after the fact and avoid it in the future?
You said, "the 4 also has signal and wifi whereas the 5 has only wifi". By "signal", I'm assuing that you mean cellular signal. If so, that means your iPhone 4 is still active on your cellular number and your iPhone 5 is not. Contact your carrier to sort out which phone is active on your account.

I am using an epson projector to present images downloaded to a thumb drive. I rename the images on export to "untitled 101, 102 etc. The projector will not recognize the sequence. It wants 001, 002etc. If I try to start 001 lightroom changes it to 1, 2 ... 10,11 etc. How can I export and rename starting with 001?
The projector may actually be processing a 3 digit number in numerical sequence. Have you tried your export/collection in order sequence starting with 101? Assuming you have fewer than 899 images you should be OK. (I had to fiddle with export sequence for a display frame which used the file date and time for sequence!)
