When I convert video files to iPod format in iTunes, it lost audio. Why? :(

I right clicked the video in iTunes and hit convert to iPod format. It converted but the audio disappeared. Can anyone tell me why?

I have an iPod 30Gig. When im converting video-files in iTunes to the format that the iPod can view, the player plays the files with no sound. I use the newest version of iTunes..does anybody know what to do to get sound when playing videofiles on my iPod??

    hi terry!
hmmmm. let's try checking to see if it's all video files that you don't get sound on (in the ipod), or just ones from a particular source.

  • What is the best software for converting video files to .ogg format?

In trying to html5 compliant I want to convert my video files to the .ogg format. After a lot of searching for video converters, I cannot find one that does this; although several claim to but actually don't. Converting audio isn't so much of a problem. So, can you suggest a tool for converting video files to .ogg format?

  • How to copy Video files to iPod without using iTunes???

    Hi there ..
I have the latest iPod Video 80GB.
If I copy video files larger than 640 pixels iTunes stops me.
But, I don't trust apple folks.
In the previous iPod it didn't matter the width unless you had a total number of pixels inferior to 480x480 (Mpeg4)
Now iPod 5.5G says 640x480=307200 pixels is the max.
    If I have a 736x416=306176
But iTunes doesn't let me copy such files into the iPod.
I WANT TO check if at Apple just don;t want me to have such files copied or if the iPod itself can't play them for real!!!!!
SO Anyone knows of an utility or a way to just copy such files to the iPod so that the database is refreshed and I can test them???
    thank you.

  • Alternative to roadmovie for converting avi files to ipod format.

    Hey all,
I am currently using roadmovie to convert my avi files to the ipod format. I like it, because it can do batch converts.
Unfortunately, when I put some files to be converted, it always crashes after the first one.
I was wondering if anyone knows a good alternative to roadmovie. I would like it to be able to do batch converts and add subtitles to my converted movies.
    Anyone a suggestion?
    Thanks

I do not know if it supports subtitle, but it does batch converting:

  • Convert video files to editable format to use on PrPro CS4

    Hello,
    I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 v4.2.1 (I can't use CS5 because I have a 32-bit system). I'm running it on HP Pavilion dv9750, Windows 7, 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7500, 2GB RAM (DDR2) and NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS.
I'm planning to create a clip of about 4-5 minutes, that would be projected on a big screen. My sources are photos, WMV (from Windows Live Movie Maker), MOV (from iphone 4), and MP4 files. I must use these sources. I'm aware my computer is pretty weak, but that's all I have right now. I know I should convert these files to a more editable format. Which one would you recommend? I'm using Xilisoft Video Convertor Ultimate 6 to convert my files (Maybe there is a way to do it through PrPro?)
I was thinking of creating the project in 9:16 ratio. None of the files are in HD, so maybe I should create it 720p quality? Which preset would you recommend? Which output would you recommend?
Thanks in advance for your help!

There are a number of video apps available in the iTunes App Store that can easily handle those videos without any need for conversions. Do a search in the iTunes app on your computer for the file types and it will show video apps that can open those file types.
If VLC 2 ever makes it to the iTunes App Store, be sure to grab it, it will be free, I use VLC 1.1 on my iPad for avi files, but it is no longer available in the iTunes App Store.

  • NOT ABLE TO IMPORT MUSIC AND VIDEO FILES FROM IPOD TO COMPUTER/ITUNES LIBRARY !!!!

Hi.... I am having IPod Nano 5th Generation. I can access music and video files (that are stored in Ipod memory) in Ipod. But when I connect the ipod to computer, I am not able to access/import these music and video files through computer. Also, I am not able to see any folders like DCIM, Contacts, etc... in the memory of IPod. Can any body help me out... ?

Search it up on google.com.  There's a lot of apps that will help you do this.  Check out this one:

I tried the import software (trial version) and it was fine but I didn't want to pay for software.  You can authorize up to 5 computers in the house to access your iTunes music and other iTunes purchases. Open iTunes, you can go under Store and select Authoize this computer.
    Good luck!

  • Converting aac files to aiff format in iTunes 8.0

I've always been able to convert files by using the preferences, advanced, import tab on iTunes. With 8.0, I can convert to mp3 format without having to go through preferences, but there is no place to convert an aac (mp4) to an aiff, which is what I need. Any help?

Thanks!! That solves it. I thought I'd been thorough in going through every preference choice. Maybe it's the 3 hours of sleep last night....

  • How to convert video files on itunes help

how do you convert a movie file using itunes?
i have a movie file randomly as .mkv
    thanks!

Well I suggest that you check out the other pages on that site - you might get some info on how to convert - or - do a Google search for a converter program.
In some respects your question is not about iTunes but about how to convert a file into a format that iTunes/QT can play. QT plays various CODECS and there are a number of plugins available for QT to play additional CODECS beyond the standard default set.

  • How can I easily convert mod files (JVC video files) to a format recognized and usable by imovie?

How can I easily convert mod files (JVC video files) to a format recognized and usable by imovie?
Is there a way within the ios to do this or do I need to buy conversion software? If so, what is the recommended software?
    Thanks.

I don't think there are ways in iOS can do this. some conversion software like this might do the right thing for you:

  • .Avi video files to ipod

do you guys know if there's a way to convert avi files to ipod form. Is there a program that works for free, or does itunes work?

I've broken the code that lets you convert .avi files that works in itunes and updates to my video 30g ipod. Do not try to use quicktime pro 7. Go to www.videora.com and download version 0.91 (it's free, fast and actually works!) you can donate $$$ if you like. I did. Select CONVERT-transcode new video-browse for file. In the Quality Profile dropdown h264/320*240/256kbpsStereo/96kbps click start. From itunes file-add file to library-browse select. I tried to convert selection to ipod but it was already in proper format. Plug in your ipod (I use update video automatically)During ipod video playback choose tvoff or you will only get audio. It took me hours to figure out the puzzle because apple does not support .avi type files. I don't usually post, but I think this info will save everyone alot of valueable time and money.

YOGenereally, you shouldn't convert from a lossy format AAC or MP3) to another lossy fomrat.
It's called loss because you lose information when you convert it.
If you only use these files on the computer and the iPod, I'd recommend AAC. Better quality at same bit rate as MP3.
