If this were a project that I was involved in, I would recapture the media at the correct frame rate and rebuild the sequences correctly.
Moving from production, to post production, to delivery is a series of steps, and the success of any particular step is based on having all the preceding steps done correctly.
Shortcuts and workarounds tend to create awkward and difficult problems, that often only surface late in the process.

    I cannot copy and paste from Word into Mail. Neither from using the keyboard shortcuts, or using the Menu function. I can copy and paste from other applications into Mail- but for some reason, text copied from a Word document (both in .txt and .doc formats) will not paste into an open email. Anyone else have this issue? It's a new issue. I used to be able to do this easily.

    I had similar issues starting about the same time or within the past week. However, I can copy and paste, it just takes considerably longer than it used to before. Copying something from a web page into Word could take up to 30 seconds now on my computer but it shows a busy mouse pointer while it is loading, then clicks/pops when it loads into the Word document, but then actually takes about another 5 to 10 seconds to appear in the Word document. I have no idea why it is delaying now when it did not do it before, but since it is still going into the document I am living with it for now. Are you waiting long enough to see if it appears?

  • Cut and paste from Word into Mail

    I have an earlier post where I thought I had solved this problem, but now it's back with a twist:
    I can cut and paste from Word, but after a few cut and pastes, it seems as if I can only paste the last successful section of text: copying new text from word seems to work, but when pasting into Mail, only the previous section of cut and pasted text appears.
    I have checked the preferences within Mail, and they are set for plain text... so there should be no problem, yes?
    I also tried quitting and then restarting Mail, but had the same problem...
    Any advice?

    I just checked the "archiving" and "back-up" suggestions in the Mail "Help" window and got the following info:
    Mail preferences and messages
    Your Mail accounts, rules, signatures, and Smart Mailboxes preference settings can easily be backed up. Tip: All Mail-related preference files should be backed up or restored as a group.
    To back up:
    Note: These steps back up Mail preferences, but do not back up Mail messages (emails), although you can do that with the .Mac Backup utility. See below if you want to manually back up Mail messages (mailboxes).
    Create a uniquely-named folder on your desktop (or other favorite location). For example, you might call it "Mail Prefs Backups May152005" (adding a date is a good idea).
    Quit Mail if it's running.
    In the Finder choose Home from the Go menu.
    Open the Library folder.
    Open the Preferences folder.
    Copy the "com.apple.mail.plist" file to the folder you made in step 1 by Option-dragging the file. Don't remove the original file from its current location (this file contains your Mail accounts information).
    Close the Preferences folder.
    Open the Mail folder.
    Copy the "MessageRules.plist" file to the folder you made in step 1 by Option-dragging the file (this file contains your Mail rules).
    Copy the "SmartMailboxes.plist" file to the folder you made in step 1 by Option-dragging the file (you guessed it, this file contains Smart Mailboxes information).
    Finally, copy the Signatures folder to the folder you made in step 1 by Option-dragging the folder. (Your custom signatures, if you use them, are stored here.)
    To restore: Just move all of the copies of the files and folders from your uniquely-named folder to the original locations from which they came, as listed above.
    It looks like I can save and restore the Mail rules separately from the plist...

    Only your bank can tell you why your login is being rejected. Apple doesn't have acces to their servers. Are you certain you have the correct login credentials?
    If so, make sure Keychain isn't loading an old password by deleting the password entries for your bank from your login keychain in Keychain Access.

  • Trying to copy and paste from word

    Hi.  I've copied fifteen pages from a Word document, and I'd like to paste the whole thing into an InDesign Document with the text automatically flowing all the way to the end - just looking for simple full page rectangular text areas - nothing fancy.  I'd watched a tutorial that said you could automatically have the text flow into the text areas while generating as many new pages as were necessary so all of the text could be displayed.
    I've tried a number of ways of accomplishing this without success.  The closest I've come is to get all of the pages to flow in but only on one side of the two page spread I set up in my Master A template.
    Could someone explain the correct way to do this?

    Based on your description, you have text frames on your master pages. Have you done this because of other elements of the design on the page? If not, you can do without them (text frames on the master). InDesign will automatically create text frames as needed to hold the text.
    If your design requires the text frames on the master, then you need to ensure that your text frames are threaded from the left to the right side of the master in order to get the text to flow across the spread. Otherwise, it treates each side of the master spread as an independent thread.
    When you have your loaded cursor, ready to paste, hold the SHIFT key to get the text to autoflow.

    Recently upgraded to CS4 and Office 2008. Now when I copy and paste text from Word to ID it only comes in as an image. If I'm copying a single paragraph from a lengthy Word doc, I really don't want to have to paste it into a new Word doc, save that, and then Place... into ID.
    Is there really no way to simply copy and paste some TEXT from Word to ID?? Who asked for text to be pasted as images?

    Anyway, as a long-time Mac user, I can confirm the OP's dilemma.
    I just upgraded from a pre-Intel Power Mac G5, OS X 10.5.8, CS2 Premium, Word 2004 for Mac to a late-2011 MacBook Pro, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3, CS5.5, Word 2011.
    This definitely is working as the OP is describing. Select text in .docx file, Cmd-Tab to InDesign, paste (with nothing selected)... pastes as an image.
    Drawing a text frame in InDesign *first* and *then* pasting the text does work, though (unlike the OP, it's not pasting as an inline graphic for me, so something may have been addressed since his posts), as does pasting the text from Word into TextEdit, then copying the text from TextEdit and pasting into InDesign (it is not necessary to first draw a text frame if pasting from TextEdit).
    I can also paste the text from Word into Dreamweaver and then into InDesign, and it'll be actual text in both locations, without having to first draw a text frame in InDesign.
    For some reason, though, it's not liking the Word-to-InDesign transition.
    I even tried saving the file as a text-only file (.txt), opened that in Word, copied some text, pasted into InDesign with nothing selected... still being pasted as an image.
    So, anyway, workaround method it is, for now.
    (Yes, placing the Word doc -- as opposed to copying/pasting -- does still work, but if you're only trying to grab a few lines of text from the file, placing becomes more of a hassle.)

    There are a range of different kinds of forms. For example, this site uses very simple controls that don't automatically convert Word's formatting to an online format. The site where you are trying to paste your resume probably works differently.
    What methods have you tried using to paste? Typically one of these will work:
    * Ctrl+v
    * right-click > Paste
    * Edit > Paste (from the menu)
    Some sites offer their own buttons to paste, but for security/privacy reasons, Firefox usually disables those.

    From one open document to another I get a quick activate/inactive window flash and can't complete the paste unless I click on the application logo in my dashboard.
    Which is kind of annoying since my app is active and from Indesign to Word works fine.
