When I copy & paste a photo with rollover my rounded corner effects don't copy.
I am trying to copy & paste a square photo box with a style of rounded corners on top right and bottom left. The box has a tinted rollover effect with text that displays when the curser is over the box. I want to take this box and copy and paste several more exactly the same. When I try to copy & paste it, the corners of the box become rounded on all 4 corners and the corner effect button is disabled. Why is this happening?
Please try to drag the content from one page to another and then check.
Thanks,
Sanjit

I am trying to install an app, I'm asked to enter my password, but my keyboard won't pop up, only the option to paste, but when I choose paste, nothing fills in (which makes sense as I have not copied anything). How can I make my keyboard appear?
Are you tapping on the field you want to enter data into? That opens the soft keyboard. If you touch the field and hold it, the paste option will appear.

Any way to import a copy of a photo with the same name without renaming?
I organize all my photos in my picture folder on my desktop, and I sometimes copy and paste the same photo into different folders so that I can use them for different purposes without having to hunt them down. I've never had to rename them as long as I've put them into a new folder, but when I imported my picture files into Lightroom 3, it only took the first copy of any picture and left out the other copies in subsequent folders. Is there any way to fool Lightroom into importing them without having to go back and rename all of them?
Thanks so much for any help! Thanks for the tip . . . I found the checkbox and it worked just fine!
The reason I store multiple copies of the same photo is because I edit photos for my daughter's online business. I always keep an original folder that does not get touched, then make copies of the photos I am going to edit for her in a seperate folder so that I know exactly which ones I'm working with (I don't edit ALL the photos). Once I make my edits, I store the edits in her business file (since she does not need any of the others) and delete the copies; therefore leaving my originals untouched. I was trying to pull some "edits in progress" into LR to throw a preset on them, and it wouldn't allow me to because it had already downloaded the original in a previous folder. Maybe not the best way to organize photos, but it seems to have worked so far. Especially with the volume of photos I deal with for my daughter's business as well as my personal stuff. Another reason I make copies of the same photo is when I'm downloading photos to Facebook. They are not always contained in the same folder, so I make a copy of the photos I want for FB then just edit and download that folder. When I'm done, I delete it after moving the edits. But there may come a time I'll want to pull that folder into LR just to work on those selected photos. Hence the need for duplicates.
I just got LR3 yesterday, and my instructional book should arrive today. I plan on reading it and hopefully it will provide a better way to organize my folders if you say this is not a good idea. I have no idea what "virtual" folders are, but definitely plan on looking in to it. Thanks so much for your advice! -
Easyest way to "copy-paste" a schema with data?
Hi,
what is the easiest way to make a copy of a schema with data to another (new) schema?
ThanksHi Jernej Kase
Q:what is the easiest way to make a copy of a schema with data to another (new) schema?
A: Oracle 10g datapump’s Network_link option allows us to copy data between schemas without even creating an export dump file.
I have tried this option and it reduced my copy procedure timings from 2 hours ( with regular exp/imp) to 15 mins.
all you need to do is
1. create a DB link pointing to target schema.
2. run the impdb command
example:
impdp uname/pwd@dbname directory=<dir name> logfile=<logfile name> network_link=<dblink name> remap_schema=source_user:target_user parallel=2

How do I make and keep a copy of a photo in iPhoto (version 9.5.1) so that I can edit the copy and keep the unedited original?
You don't have to. iPhoto does that automatically. Note the command in Photos menu to 'Revert to Original' and the original can be exported at any time using the Export command.
Longer answer:
All edits in iPhoto are virtual. The database records your decisions and then applies them to a copy of the original. So your original is untouched. Your edited version is never "fixed" until you export it. -
I started using CC in December with absolutely no issues. In April, CC suddenly started crashing on me when I would run certain actions that I have used for years. My first thought was that my computer was going bad. This began a two month process of eliminating any potential computer problems. Fixes were as follows:
Installed new SSD.
Installed new 2T storage drive.
Installed new video card and power source to run new video card.
I am operating Windows 7 with 16G of RAM on a quad core, which should be more than sufficient to handle the demands of CC. It worked fine for four months, so obviously it is capable of doing the job.
$400 later, CC still crashed while using certain actions.
As a test, I tried running the same files with the same actions on my husband's computer, which is a year newer. CC crashed on his as well when the actions were ran. After much head banging, tears, and communication with Adobe, it was determined that it's not uncommon for older actions to not be compatible with newer versions of photoshop. As a result, I spent weeks reworking my entire workflow to redo/remove the actions I had come to rely on.
Fast forward to today. I have fixed everything I possibly know how to fix, yet I still have to be VERY careful not to push CC too hard. I used to be able to work on 6 photos at a time, with 10-15 layers on each photo. CC NEVER crashed on me. Now, I can barely work on 2 or 3 photos and it will crash if I'm not careful about running one action at a time (instead of batching) and I have to keep my layers to a minimum. During the time I was trying to figure out my computer problems, I started paying more attention to my memory usage while CC was opened. Before all the changes, I would use 5-6,000,000k of memory with only 2 or 3 photos opened. AFTER all the fixes, I still continue to use an insane amount of memory.
Things to consider before offering any suggestions:
*Yes, I have re-installed CC about 5 times after my computer upgrades, mainly because I could not get my actions to populate. So I don't think a re-install will help.
*I tried removing most of my actions from CC, and it made no difference in memory usage. Besides, when I did the test on my husband's computer, the only actions installed were the few I was trying to test.
*I disabled auto-save and the recovery feature. Still no difference.
So, bottom line, my question is if it is normal to use so much memory when doing such simple tasks?? Most of my layers are levels, curves, fill, and a sharpening layer and noise filter. It doesn't seem those would be considered task intensive. Not only that, but also when I did the test on my husband's computer, I checked his memory usage and he didn't even break 2,000,000k at the same time I was using 5-6,000,000k for the same task. And he only has 12G of RAM. So SOMETHING is not right! Is there a setting I need to change so that CC is not so memory intensive?? I could see if I were doing 3D graphics of something, but these are simple photo edits that I have done for years without any problems.
Sincerely hope that somebody has some/any suggestions on how I can get the memory usage down so I can run CC as it's meant to be - fast and efficient!
Thanks in advance for any help!!Thanks again for your suggestions Noel! I do hope that resetting my preferences will be a last resort. After my re-install it took me a week or two to get everything back to where I wanted it! For some reason, the way the computer techs set up my new drives, CC did not populate any of my actions/preferences/etc. I figured a round about way to get my actions to load, but it was a real pain in the butt!! I certainly hope I don't have to do that all over again. Although I will say that even before I got everything reset in photoshop, I was still having problems. The only thing I pulled into a fresh install of CC were the few actions that were giving me problems ( I worked with the defaults until I could figure out how to reconfigure everything). Before and after my changes, CC was still crashing on me and using tons of memory. Just something to keep in mind regarding my preferences being an issue.
Here is the information you requested. Hopefully the answer lies within! I have been in tears many times since April trying to get my CC/computer back to running the way it used to. This has put me SO far behind on editing I've even had to stop taking sessions for now. So I am VERY appreciative of any and all suggestions you can offer!

My photo ap gets hung up when I try to share photos with family sharing
I am new to family sharing. I can't get my photos to share. Every time I select them and choose "share to iPhoto family share" the photo ap gets hung up and I have to close it to restore it. What am I missing? Also, how do I browse my husband's music collection?
Open Disk Utility, from the Applications folder, open Utilities, and then double-click the Disk Utility icon.
In the column on the left, click your startup disk.
Click the First Aid tab, and then click Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility will reset any files and folders with incorrect settings.

Photos with an uppercase extension in AddressBook don't sync
If you add a photo to the contact pic in AddressBook that has an uppercase extension (e.g. .JPG) it doesn't sync to iPhone 4
What system do you have on your Mac? To share photos in Photo Stream the Mac must be running 10.7.5 or newer and iPhoto 9 or later while the phone must be running iOS 7. For Shared Photo Streams the Mac must be running 10.8.2 or later. Do your devices meet those requirements?

Copying a table with rollover images & links
Need help...
Using Dreamweaver CS4.
I have a table with rollover images and links from those rollovers"
I now want to copy and paste the table into other pages, but when I do, my links are broken and the rollovers don't work.
I have my Site Def preferences set to "Links relative to: Document"
Is there an easy way to copy & paste a table with rollover graphics and links?
I've tried dragging the table from the page with the working links onto the different page. The graphics show up, but the second state of the rollovers soesn't show up, and I get some weird link error:

IDSCS5.5 How to determine if a pageitem was copy/pasted from Illustrator
Hi,
My flow is as follows:
- Open document in IndesignServer
- (XML)Tag every pageitem with our custom IndesignServer plugin (c++ SDK)
- If pageItem is a group, tag every member separately
- save/close the document
My problem is:
- If pageitem was copy/pasted from Illustrator and pageitem has a gradient fill => IndesignServer crashes while tagging.
- Copy/pasted illustrator items with plain colorfills work fine.
Note that:
- Copy pasted pageitems from illustrator with a gradient fill are considerated as group in Indesign.
- The gradient fill of Illustrator is not recognized as such in Indesign ( I could only test with Illustrator CS4).
- The lack of color information in that situation is not enough to consider the object as "from Illustrator".
My question:
- How can i determine if the origin of the pageitem is Illustrator? (I have no control on the creation of the document).
I know this is a hard one...
Thanks in advance for any usefull input!

Copy/paste photo's to docs in Adobe ios
Can a person not copy/paste a photo to a doc?
PDF forms created in LiveCycle Designer can take advantage of an image field that's available. It can import JPEG, TIFF, GIF, and PNG. When the user clicks the field, it prompts the user to select an image file.
A form created in Acrobat can user a button that is set up to display an icon (layout someting other than Label only). Acrobat users will be able to choose a page from a PDF or any other format that it knows how to convert to PDF, including the same image formats as above plus many more, and many other formats. You can implement this with the following Mouse Up JavaScript for a button:
// Prompt the user to select a file
event.target.buttonImportIcon();
When the user clicks the button, a prompt will appear allowing the user to select a file to use for the button icon.
This will work with Reader 11, but the user will be limited to selecting a page from a PDF. It is relatively easy to convert images to PDF nowadays, to this isn't as much of a restriction as it was before they removed this from Reader a while ago. For example, on a Mac a user can easily convert an image to PDF, with Preview for example, or pretty much any other software that can view an image. On Windows, Office users can easily convert to PDF, and there are any number of other freely available PDF creation tools out there. An XFA form with a single large image field can actually be used for this, so that when it is saved the Reader user can import the image by selecting the saved XFA form.
Another option to placing an image on a page is to use a stamp. In Reader, the user can create a stamp from an existing PDF, but prior to Reader 11 the document has to be Reader-enabled so that at least commenting is allowed.
Reader 10 and 11 allow the user to add a signature as part of the new EchoSign functionality, which is implemented as a stamp, and the user can import an image. Adding non-signature images really isn't what this feature was meant for, but it works. -
Is there any way to copy a photo with Lightroom adjustments without making a separate copy?
I do most of my printing from lightroom. I generally set up my image the way I want it for printing on photo paper, and then I make other copies and adjustments for printing on things like Canvas, coffee cups, tiles, etc.
The problem I have is I set up templates in photoshop, say for a coffee cup, which will have the correct dimensions, perhaps some text, etc. To get to the lightroom photo with the lightroom adjustments I have to "edit a copy with lightroom adjustments" in photoshop, then copy and paste the image to the template in photoshop. Now I have another copy of the image on my harddrive and in lightroom. So after I copy the image in photoshop, I close it go back to lightroom and delete the copy I just made. Besides the extra fragging on the harddrive this creates, I know I am setting myself to delete the wrong photo by accident through repetition, and it is extra work.
How can get a copy of a photo with Lightroom adjustments to the clipboard without making another physical copy of the photo?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Godspeed,
BruceI may not be the best resource for tiles and cups, I've just started printing to them. Basically I'm doing them using an epson printer with dye sublimation inks printing on transfer paper and then doing the transfer at 400 degrees with a press. I wanted to be able to do my own to get the cost down, and wanted to be able to make it actually usable, (dishwasher safe, etc) so this is the best route I've found. I had to get a new printer, 2 presses, a bulk ink system, and the supplies to print on so it is a pretty hefty up front expense. It can be done cheaper though using a mug wrap heated in an oven (not your cooking oven though). I worked with the folks at Conde to get set up, and they seem pretty good. But I'm still early in the learning curve, so I would be able to tell you a lot more in 6 months.
