When I download files from the internet, it shows the file downloading in the download box, but then as soon as it's done it just disappears. How can I fix this?

This has been happening for several weeks.

It sounds like perhaps the file doesn't have an extension that the system recognizes. Is this all files, or just one specific one, and if so, which? What is the name (and extension, if it has one) of the downloaded file? What kind of file do you *expect* it to be? (PDF, or whatever). Renaming a file with the appropriate extension can often fix that kind of problem.

The links toolbar is not working. I can drag addresses to it, but when I click on them, the sites don't open. How can I fix this?

There is a toolbar feature in the lower right corner of the taskbar. I tried to set up the Links toolbar. I can drag addresses to this, but when I click them, nothing happens. What should happen is the site/page whose address I clicked should open.
How can I fix this? Is it a problem with the Firefox I'm currently using?

I checked out the links you provided. One is dead, one is for Windows 7, which doesn't apply to my problem because I'm using Windows 8, and I've been checking out the third.
I'm a novice and may not have the right vocabulary to explain myself. The Links toolbar is accessed from the bottom right side of the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Apparently Firefox is necessary to use this, as everyone I've talked to swears it's not visible for IE.
What I'm referring to is Right-click "show hidden icons." Scroll up to Toolbars. Scroll over to Links. Check it to enable it. Then what should happen is I should be able to drag the address/url from the top of the page to this menu and click on it when I want to go back to that particular page. That is what is not working. Nothing happens when I click the addresses in the Links menu.

I keep my Firefox up-to-date at all times but the last few weeks Gmail has been telling me that I am using an older version which it no longer supports even though I have the updated version. I was notified that Firefox could be updated to the newest version, which I did. After the update when I opened Firefox it told me that I needed to update to the newest version which I had already done. How can I fix this?

When I connect my iPad mini to my iMac it recognizes the iPad but my Garage Band documents are not available for transfer. How can I fix this?

I'm having trouble transfering my garage band documents from my iPad mini to my iMac. iTunes recognizes the device, but when I select the app to add or save files to... nothing appears there, as if I had not recorded anything on my iPad. Can anyone help me?

to make your files to appear in the apps section of iTunes you have to take some steps.
- go to Garageband on your iPad
- tap My Songs to go to the list of your songs (if your are not already there )
- tap Select
- select one song
- tap the share button (top left)
- tap itunes
- you are then asked to chose a format. There is an explation for each format.
- Choose one
- repeat the last 5 steps with every song you want to transfer.
- when your done tap done
The songs should now appear when you connect the iPad.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Thunderbird 24.3.0.5144 crashes as soon as I try to open it. How can I fix this or should I download the latest version?

I click on the Thunderbird shortcut and Windows immediately tells me the programme has stopped working. It then tells me that "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". Is there a fix available for this? If not should I download the latest version of Thunderbird? Will the new version automatically find my settings? Obviously I cannot automatically upgrade if the programme closes before I open it!

I can't see the other person when using facetime but they can see me just fine, how can i fix this?

When I use facetime with my fiance on my brand new macbook air she can see me but I can't see her. Please help me remedy this problem, I have verified that I am logged into facetime and connected it with both my ipone5 and my email but haven't seen any changes. MacBook Air does not run iOS. It runs OS X (pronounced as in OS - ten). You can check which version you have by clicking the Apple logo in the upper left of the menu bar, then "About This Mac". Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
Come back with the results.

I understand you are not receiving internet via Wi-Fi or through your carrier. Start with a reset of your network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Reconnect to your network and test. If the issue persists, try going through the steps in the two articles below.

When I attempt to open a link on google, firefox opens a new, unrelated "spam" website. In addition, new windows are popping up out of nowhere - how can I fix this? Is this a virus?
