When I drag and drop videos onto my imovie project, I only get audio. why?

I am editing for the first time, when I drop the clip into imovie5 I only get sound. What am I doing wrong?

Basically, I can't for some reason drag and drop videos onto my iphone 4. I manually manage my music and vids, songs I can drag and drop, but when it comes to videos, nothing happens. I have converted my videos to mp4 h264 format as required and still no progress. I cant think of what to do now. Someone help!!!

I have some videos that I have on my computer that I want to add to my library but when I drag and drop them into my library iTunes freezes. I never had any problems with this before. The format is right. I used a program to convert them and other videos worked but this one.

ITunes 11.1 and iOS 7.0.3 won't allow me to drag-and-drop videos onto my iPad?

I finally updated my iPad 2 (16 GB; Wi-Fi) with the new iOS 7 update (7.0.3), and now it won't let me drag-and-drop items from my iTunes library anymore. It starts to, it seems. iTunes says "Preparing to sync" and then that just disappears, and nothing else happens.
Just the other night, I drag-and-dropped some songs onto my iPad (since my iPhone wasn't allowing me to, so I added them to my iPad instead; I'm getting a new iPod touch soon anyways, so this is only temporary), and it worked just fine. This was before I updated my iOS 7 (iTunes was already at 11.1).
I've restarted iTunes...many times...

Checked my storage space; I have plenty for these six videos I want to add on here...
I have had this iPad set on "manually manage" since I bought it. It has never known any different. I've manually synced movies from my old MacBook (backlight dead, and it's not worth the money I'd have to pay to replace it, since this is the second-to-last MacBook Apple made, so it isn't worth much anymore; and this MacBook still has Mac OSX 10.5, so iTunes 11 won't even work with it, so I haven't synced anything from it in MONTHS...), and to my last PC laptop (charging port is broken, so it won't charge even though it works fine when the battery is full; unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to ordering the new part yet). I've only added three songs from this "new PC" that I'm borrowing. To my knowledge, it doesn't matter how many different libraries you "sync" to a "manually managed" device, right? Besides, I just synced music from this third library last week!!
What I just don't understand is why it let me the other day, and now it won't.
And before I updated tonight, my PC didn't even recognize my iPad. So I pretty much HAD to install that iOS 7 update that had been in my Settings since it came out.
What is going on? I'm kind of sick of this...the only option it seems is to just completely sync to this one computer, but I'll lose pretty much everything except the few songs I put on here, and my videos. I have pictures and apps and notes/documents that I DO NOT want to lose.
Any suggestions?

Since i have my ipod i have always dragged and dropped music from my itunes library onto my ipod but now every time i open itunes it tries to sync my whole library onto my ipod which i dont want, but now i cant drag nd drop onto it anymore , and there is a "lock" symbol beside the space that shows how much space is available on my ipod (such as the one that appears when on hold).

You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7 installed hold down the Control and Alt keys (or Shift + Ctrl keys in older versions). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to automatically update. If you want to access your iPod directly, drag songs to it, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and videos" in the iPod Summary tab and click Apply. Cant Drag and Drop Video to 60 gig

Hi everyone. I finally decided to try and put some video on my ipod video. For some reason though i cant drag and drop video onto the ipod. The files are all proper format so that is not the problem.
If i add the videos to my library and then have it auto-update the videos it will add them to the ipod. I cannot simply create a playlist of them though and drag it on, or drag a single video onto the ipod.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Cannot get a 1 second transition when I drag and drop 2 or more subclips

Hi I am having a problem with subclips not using the default transition of 1 second when I drag and drop them onto the canvas. I have read about file handles and I have made sure that the subclips are long enough for a 1 second transition.
Here are my steps so that you can simulate it.
- get a sample clip (a few minutes)
- double click it and creat an in / out point .
- then create a subclip (Apple U) that is say 30seconds-1 minute.
- create another subclip from the main clip of about a miute long as well.
- select and then drag / drop them onto the canvas (not timeline) using a transition (which is the default transition of 1 second).
- once the clips (2) go to the timeline you can see that they have a transition of 12 frames not 1 second long.(double clip on the transition in the timeline)
I have tried all sorts of things and clearing out prefernces and wipe reinstall, but I cant drag and drop and get a 1 second transition on a subclip
my setup is:
final cut 6
leopard
mini (intel)

If you subscribed to iTunes match the songs are kept in icloud. If you didn't but you did save the actual iTunes library folder which should include the music, video, etc. you should be able to just drag this file back to your machine in the same place and when you open iTunes it will give you a chance to identify the iTunes library folder.
You can test this to find out if you saved the media files or not and don't need to attach your nano to do it.
You are correct that once you connect the nano it will clear the existing files from it and sync it with the new iTunes library.
If you don't have the media files i'm not sure if/how to get them back on a windows ipod. I have everything backed up regularly because of the horror stories I have seen & heard.

I don't blame this person whatsoever for making the assumption that the iPod portion of his phone would work similarily, if not the same, as the iPod.
But it does work the same as the iPod. As with an iPod, you can sync all songs and playlists, or selected playlists, or you can manually manage music and videos. You can also select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab and uncheck the songs in your iTunes library that you don't want transferred to your iPhone. This can be used with syncing selected playlists - if you want to remove a song from your iPhone that is in a selected playlist without removing the song from the playlist in iTunes, you uncheck the song in the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. There is no difference with an iPod in this regard except for the iPhone not supporting disk mode.
In order to manually manage music and videos with an iPod, you must select this under the Summary tab for the iPod sync preferences, and the same for the iPhone.

I am unable to drag and drop music onto my nano 6th gen that I downloaded into iTunes from 2 CDs that I purchased. Older songs will still copy! Oddly, I CAN drag and drop them onto my old video iPod!

Yes! It is set up for manual management because I have way more music than will fit on my nano so I am only putting my favorites on it! It's just odd that the music on the 2 new CDs I downloaded into iTunes will not copy over! When I drag my songs to the playlist I made on my nano it acts like it is copying because I get the number of songs icon and the + sign indicating that it is copying but then the playlist is empty. The nano will say for a couple seconds that it is synchronizing but in the end nothing has transferred! If I take an older song and drag it into the playlist it does copy! Seem like it has to do with the new CDs being compatible with nano? I would really appreciate any advice! Thanks!

In iTunes I can't drag and drop podcasts onto my iPod anymore. I can still drag and drop songs onto my iPod and I can still drag and drop podcasts into other playlists. I've tried restarting my computer and my iPod and I've also checked for software updates for the iPod and iTunes. Help?

Update: I seem to have fixed the problem! I went to the "summary" section of my iPod after clicking on the device on the left side of iTunes. I checked the box that allowed me to "manually manage music and videos" and applied this option. The songs are syncing! And, yay, they're playing on my iPod now! Hopefully, this helps anyone else who might have this problem. There might be other issues, but this is working for now.

Drag and Drop Files Onto EXE Icon

I was wondering if there is a way to have the user drag and drop files onto the .exe icon and this would initiate the program to do something with those files automatically?
For example: Some PDF convertor programs allow you to drag and drop documents, images, etc. directly onto the PDF convertor icon on your desktop and it will automatically convert them all to PDF's, without the user even having to open the program.
Can this same type of functionality be done with a Labview EXE file?

Finder - Can't drag and drop files onto stacks on the desktop anymore.

This might sound like a strange question but in the past I was able to select a group of files in a window and drag that group to the desktop where they would stack upon one another creating a neat stack of all the files in one place. Now when I do this they drag onto the desktop and remain spread out all over the place. It's not terribly difficult to deal with except if I'm dragging say, 30 photos onto the deskop. Before they appeared stacked upon one another and I could simply drag one off the stack one by one. I am however experincing harsh symptoms of OCD because I can't figure out why. My co-worker's Mac is the same as mine (both running 10.8.2) and his files stack just fine.
I've done a fresh install after having no luck and it's till doing it.
This is really bumming me out. Any suggestions are very welcome. I've even booted into safe mode and it still won't stack drag and dropped files onto the desktop.

Relaunch Finder and restart Mac OS X. See if this helps.

How to create a drag and drop video playlist Help please

I would like to learn how to create a drag and drop video playlist.
I think the most common example is youtube.
I already have partial of the work but I am stuck with my preliminary knowledge of Flash.
What I am saying is:
I have a *.fla project that have the galleries for video and pictures.
But this process is done from the back end.
I would like to make it more dynamic for the visitors.
For example:
1. Create a visitor video (pictures) playlist
2. Drag and drop into the playlist
3. To be able to create different playlists (Playlist 1, "My favorite playlist", "Watch later", etc)
If someone knows or want to guide me where or how to find this request, I'd appreciate it so much.
If the forum think that this need to be address to a expertise ($). I am also welling to hear that and where to go.
If someone is interesting in this project please send me a note to show the prelimary project.

Yeah that is the general idea but that is more of a "lift and drop", i want to add the same thing as when you:
Right click this window in the taskbar (assuming your using windows) when the window is not maximized and click "move" then it changes the cursor icon and allows u to move the window around and while you move it around it shows the window moving, not a click and release feature.
So i want that ability without having to click on the title bar, if you know what i mean.
