hi everyone hope you can help ive just synced my partners phone because shes due a new one because its damaged, ive plugged the new one in and the only backup points listed are from my phone and not hers, pls help?
You probably won't be able to use a Malaysian sim card in your phone. If you purchased the phone from 3, then it is probably carrier locked to 3 and it won't work with any other sim card.
Nobody here can do anything to help you. You need to contact 3, so you need to ring them or go back to the store where you purchased the phone. Not a lot you can do other than activate with the original 3 sim card in situ so that the phone will work.
You can try activating the phone with the 3 sim card and then try swapping them, but I suspect that the phone is carrier locked to 3 and you need to contact them for help. Noone else can do anything really except them. -
Need help with my broken iPhone4s. It was hit by a car, and I need to know how to back up my data to my computer/iCloud so when I get my new iPhone I can sync it to there and still have all my old data, such as contacts, photos, apps, etc.
If you had iCloud backup turned on, and it made a backup - yes. If you didn't have iCloud backup turned on - but were using iCloud for Contacts, calendars, etc. You will get the contacts and calendars, etc back.
Purchases made with your appleID can be redownloaded as long as they are still available in the iTunes store.
If you connected your phone to a computer with iTunes, there may be a backup on there as well. -
I have moved from one company to another and they both use iphones I backed my phone up before it was shut down I tried to retrieve contacts from my PC it did not work will it work when I get my new iphone?
I updated my iPhone onto my friend's MacBook
Why would you do that, and not on your own computer? See the hassle it caused you?
can he just email me the folder
Backup files are too big to email. Use FTP, DropBox, etc...
how do I then put all that data back into my current phone from the new computer?

When you get the new iPhone 5S they say it come with all the iWork apps for free install already. But if i restore from back-up from an old device which doesnt have any iWork apps would I still receive those iWork Apps?
Hey Davin12,
Yes. The apps are not pre-installed, but rather you are prompted to download them the first time you launch the App Store in iOS 7:
About Free Apple Apps for iOS 7 compatible devices
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5913
iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated or purchased after September 1, 2013
The first time you launch the App Store in iOS 7 on your qualifying new or factory refurbished iOS device, you will be offered iMovie, iPhoto, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers for free in addition to other free software from Apple. When you tap Download All and sign in with your Apple ID, the apps will be downloaded to your device and added to your store account. If you tap Not Now when you see the offer, you can go back to each of the apps in the store and download them one at a time for free.
Thanks,

After moving from Canada to the US, getting a new iPhone 5C, and restoring my backup from iCloud, I can't update my apps. I get an error message that my account is not valid in the Canadian App store and I must change to the US store. How do I do that?
Change here:
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
You must have a verified billing address & be located in the country whose store you are trying to use. -
If I buy a new iphone, can I still use the old one like an ipod with my iMac and download music, videos and apps?
Absolutely, Yes. I'm sure that many iPhones are "recycled" that way within a family.
The worst that will happen is that once in a while it will remind you to activate it as a phone. Just ignore the notifications. -
If I reset my iphone5, can I restore it with a backup from an iphone4 using itunes?
I got a new iPhone 5 today and the salesperson advised me to sync my old iPhone 4 before connecting the new phone. I synced it but didn't back it up, and had not backed up for several months.
My new iPhone then only had the information from that back up. So I disconnected it and backed up my old phone and then connected the new phone and tried to restore it from the backup, but it didn't seem to recognise that I wanted it to restore from the other phone's backup and still only includes that old information and none of my new apps.
Can someone please advise what my best course of action would be? If I restore the new phone, can I somehow make it understand that I want to restore from the old phone's backup?Start over. Make sure you have the most recent backup form old iPhone.
iPhone 5: Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Note: Only apps data is in the backup, apps can be sync using iTunes or redownload. -

I got my iphone replaced at the store today. I hooked it up to my computer to restore, now it is super hot. Should I take it back?
If you belive it was dangerously hot, be careful and take it back. If the iPhone is working fine now, it may be OK.

HT1766 if i get a new ipod can i put my same apps on it and does it keep data on the apps
if i get a new ipod can i restore my apps if i hve backed them up on itunes and does itunes keep the data for my apps
App data is NOT stored with the apps in your iTunes library. Some apps store data is stored i servers and thus will appears when yo log into that app. Otherwise, yo will have to restore from backup to get the app data back to the time that the backup was made.

Hello
That was money to they would give to me on a gift card towards the purchase of a new iPhone. The price of the new phone depends on whether you are eligible for an upgrade.
It has nothing to do with AppleCare and they will not upgrade you through AppleCare. You would need to get your iPhone repaired then have them inspect the repaired phone, make you an offer and give you a gift card. You also must use the gift card towards an iPhone and sign a contract when you get the new iPhone. -
New iPhone, Different Carrier. Does this affect Backup
Does changing carriers when I get a new iPhone affect a Backup & Restore?
I currently have an iPhone 5 on AT&T. My new iPhone 6 Plus arrives in a few days, but I'm going with T-Mobile this time. I'm planning on doing a "Backup & Restore" using iTunes, but I'm unclear about how that works since I'm going with a different carrier for the new iPhone. Other than that poorly designed AT&T app, will any AT&T settings or info be restored to my new T-Mobile iPhone?I understand how to transfer my content from my iPhone 5 to my new iPhone 6. I just wanted to make sure that in the process, I wasn't restoring AT&T settings or info. The page you linked to doesn't mention anything about when the old and new iPhone are on different carriers.
You say the carrier is "not important." Does any of the old carrier info get restored to the new phone? -
Can't restore apps with time machine
I can't restore an app (or any file) from the Application folder with time machine. The folder is "grayed out" as soon as I go back in time.
I have checked permission.
Thanks for any hint!
