When i get a phone call i want to activate the led flash - how?
i would like to activate the led flash when i get a phone call without having the normal ringing tone. But how can i do that?

That pretty much sez it. No ringtone on a call or messege or text although one has been selected. Vibration but not tone. Ringer volume is all the way and nothing.

You can open the Phone app then tap Recents then the blue 'i" in a blue circle at the right of the number then "Create New Contact" then tap a field such as "First" name and the keyboard should appear.

I have two different 5s's with two different phone numbers but they are both using the same iCloud/apple account. After upgrading to iOS8 when I get a phone call on one phone both phones ring. One phone is for work and one is for private and I don't need both phones to ring from one call. It's bizarre.......is this supposed to be like this? If so where can I turn it off?? And while we are at it iOS8 has installed iBooks on both of my phones and iTunes won't let me uninstall it. I don't need or want iBooks on my phones.

There are two easy fixes to this.
One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.

When I get a phone call or text message it will not make the sound. Just vibrate. But the switch is on normal. When I change it to vibrate the volume thing will not show. Nor will my up volume up key work. Is there any way to fix it?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

My volume buttons won't work. Music plays when I get a phone call. That is the only time my speaker makes noise. My settings are how they should be, the top button is not on silent, I've shut my phone off many times, I've totally restored my phone. Help

Lose my internet access when I get a phone call
With my Time Capsule base station, every time I get a phone call to my wireless phone I lose my internet connection. Lately the only way to get it back is to unplug my DSL modem and have it restart. It seems that my wireless phone somehow disconnects my signal. The phone base station is closer to me than the time capsule but not sure that's an issue. I have set the robust setting which supposedly helps to address this but it's obviously not working. Anyone that's solved this I would greatly appreciate some advice. Not sure if this is something that AT&T could help me fix.

La Honda, CaMy phone is a 5.8ghz and I don't see how to change that.
On my timecapsule I can select manual for channel but it appears to give me finer choices for both the 2.4 and 5ghz ranges (other channel numbers) however I can't appear to 'set it' to 2.4ghz. Not sure if I should just try different manual setting for channel... are you able to set it to the 2.4 channel somehow?

Why isn't my iPhone 5s ringing or beeping when I get a phone call or text?
Whenever someone calls me it goes right to voice mail and doesn't ring. I am missing a lot of phone calls because of it, and it is very annoying. I don't know if there is something wrong in the settings or just in the software. I will appreciate any help!

how d i do this?You can migrate one of them to a separate account, along with a copy of the iCloud data. You'll have to decide which one you want to move to the new account. Your iCloud email account must stay with the existing account so that may help you decide which one to migrate.
Then, to migrate to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the device keeping the existing account will not be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iDevice and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data. -
IOS6 causes Podcast App to Play when I get a phone call!
Try this: play a podcast using the Podcast app with a headset. Unplug the headset - the app pauses automatically. Ok so far. Call your phone. Dismiss the call. The Podcast starts to play!! Or answer the call and talk - Ok. Then hang up the call - the podcast starts to play! Very annoying in meetings.
If you manually click the pause button, the Podcast app doesn't misbehave.
I have a iPhone4 and iOS6. Restarted my phone and it still misbehaves.
Has anyone else seen this?

Either go to the Podcast app and tell it to stop playing theocrats or quit the app.
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally. -

You can stop it by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off on both phones.

How do I change my phone settings on my iPhone 5 so that when I make a phone call while I am on the phone call my phone stays lit up. It never goes black so I am constantly hitting other buttons while I try to talk like mute or FaceTime or speaker! Please help this is so annoying! It's like all I need to do is fix the settings somehow and I have gone through all of my settings and I can't find where to do this!
Is the phone in a case? Try taking it out of the case. If that doesn't work, then your proximity sensor is broken. You'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.
