There is also a little animated download circle on the bar that is located just above the window tabs. I left Firefox open for hours and rebooted and it still comes up every time.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

My Firefox is working fine, but there is a blue band at the top of the screen that says, "Downloading the latest applications," and it has a swirly, circle thing that indicates something is downloading, but it never stops or goes away. I updated to the latest version of Firefox, but the blue band is still there.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== Just the other day. no matter how long the computer runs, it doesn't stop. This problem can be caused by the MSN® Toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins)

AVG tried to take over the Firefox Program. I unchecked some stuff on AVG and now Firefox doesn't look right. There is only a bar at the top of the page with "Firefox" and "new Tab" . How do I get the Firebox homepage back?
Google Toolbar Options, in the Search tab, make sure that '''Enable the Google new tab page''' is check-marked. If that doesn't fix it for you, see this for support information about the Google Toolbar.
As far as your UserAgent showing Firefox 3.0.11, see this:
You might want to consider getting rid of that '''desktopsmiley''' program that has messed up your UserAgent, it is known as Malware. -
I had a fear that this was going to be the case, but you can't have two full screen apps open in two different displays. At least that's how Safari fullscreen works. When switching over to full screen mode in safari, it automatically creats a new space, turns on four finger gesture to swipe through full screen apps which I had turned off in place of App Switcher.
I don't use spaces because of the lack of support for using spaces with multiple displays. I would use spaces and mission control if I had control of each display's mission control separately.
The fix would be to unlink the displays so they can scroll through full screen apps by themselves. I want this feature so I can mix and match the full screen apps on my three different displays. I see this beneficial for more people with multiple displays. in the future when thunderbolt display links, people will want better support too.
I know I would use spaces and mission control more if I could have this ability. I'd be interested to know people's opinion. No no, if you read what I said, it would be that each individual display would be customizable to the user. The way you have it, it sounds like your second display will be dedicated to scrolling through fullscreen apps not allowing you to do it on the home screen. This is silly because with my concept, you could do that, by dragging apps to fullscreen in your second display, but if you want you could tell another display to scroll through fullscreen apps (independently) if you wanted. Each display will have it's own mission control with it's own set of desktops. I also can see how some people would still want them linked together, so this could just be a little check box made in mission control prefs to "link" or "unlink" desktops with link checked by default.
With your solution you're limited to your setup. but what if the person has three or four displays? Well then your solution would limit them to one dedicated display that scrolls through fullscreen apps where mine lets a person customize their desktops depending on their preference and setup.
further example: if you have safari, address book and mail in one display, you could still have ichat, PS and Illustrator in your second, and a text editor, FTP Client and iTunes in your third. Then you would mix and match these apps but it would promote the use of mulitple displays as well as benefit people with three or more, which thunderbolt, Cinema Display and Pro computers support. -

I was just installing windows 7 onto my MacBook Pro. I selected to have 200GB for Windows and the rest leave for Mac.
I clicked install and the bar filled up as it should do. However, once the install had completed, my MacBook turned itself off. I assumed this was normal. Now, my MacBook has a black screen with a white flashing underscore in the top left corner.
What is wrong and what should I do?Hold down the Option key when starting up then on the sceen that comes up select Mac OS X to boot from.
The Win 7 install didn't go well and is hung in some way. You should use boot camp assistant to remove the win partition and start over.
Make sure you are using a Retail version of Win 7. A Branded OEM version, like ones from Dell and HP, will NOT work to install Windows 7 on your Mac. -

Don't want to have to clear all my cookies every day. Anyone else having this problem?
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

When I put the window into full screen mode a gray block appears across the bottom of the screen. Thus the top of any given web page is truncated upward and I cannot access anything...But if I minimize the view what was once unavailable reappears.
Is there a way to get rid of this gray block?Provide computer and OS version info and maybe we can help. Phone and iOS stuff tells us nothing useful.

new desktop, new user of Windows 7. Made Firefox my browser as always, with Yahoo as my home page. There is no tool bar at the top of my screen that says "File - Edit -- History __ etc the way I have always had! I can't figure out how to get this, and I need it! Help!!
Press the alt key next to the spacebar. Do you see it now? If so, click View -> Toolbars" and check the Menu bar. See [[Menu bar is missing]] for more information.

I'm not sure when this changed (it was a while ago, possibly with OS X Mountain Lion, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't always this way?) but full-screening apps used to add them to the left of everything else. Now, things are added to the right side of the thumbnail strip, which is extremely inconvenient for me.
Is there any way to change it back?Strange, it's working fine now. Nevermind.

Flash Player crashes when going into full screen mode
Hey guys! It's basically as the title implies. Whenever I am watching a video and attempt to go into full screen mode, flash player crashes and I get an error window reading "Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 has stopped working". As a matter of fact, it doesn't even happen all the time. It happens most of the time, however. It has happened even immediately after searching for and installing the newest version. What might be causing this and what can I do to resolve it? I am using Windows 7 32-bit and Firefox as my browser.
Thanks in advance friends!this may be hardware related. try unselecting "Hardware Acceleration..."
right click a movie or flash content and uncheck the box in the first tab in Settings. quit out of the browser and try fullscreen again.
