When I go to update my apps in app store, it says "unknown error has occurred". How do I fix that?
I would like to update the apps on my computer so somebody please help.
Go to the featured tab of the App Store and swipe down to the bottom. Tap on your Apple ID. Tap View Apple ID in the pop up window. Then enter your password. Go down to County/region in the next pop up window and change the store in there - if it doesn't change automatically for you via a message from iTunes.

Some people are having issues installing the most recent iTunes from the Mac App Store. If you can't update iTunes in the Mac App Store, download and install iTunes from the Apple page > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1614

i was downloading bioshock off the app store and was 5.2 gb out of 7gb through when my internet disconnected and now it has "an error has occurred how can i fix this

Trying to do both at the same time? Try updating the apps first. Maybe one at a time. Then try buying the movie.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem. -

I too faced similar difficulties when I was trying to get things goings (bb protect is still beyond me!)
So, if I might knidly have an addendum to the OP...... I had to try the different name dance also, and now have a pile of apps where i have to try to recall which name worked for that app, because as little as an hour later, the id would be rendered ineffective.
Is there anyway to merge this dispirate IDs?

App Store gives "An unknown error has occurred" when I try to log in
I know I'm using the correct username and password -- using a different one gives a password-specific error, and the username/password works correctly elsehwere.
I have applied all updates, and rebooted.
I just had my SSD replaced (got the machine back today), and the apple store put snow leopard instead of lion on it -- my lion upgrade was purchased in the app store previously. So, I currently have mountain lion on this machine.
Thanks!urgh... just noticed my previous post said i have mountain lion... i meant that i have snow leopard. no idea why i messed that up!
anyway, i just tried reinstalling snow leopard from the usb key that came with the computer. Then, I installed software updates until it told me there were no more updates. After that, I tried the app store again, and it still is giving me the unknown error. really irked by that. may have to take it back to the apple store yet again, to see if i can figure out why the app store won't work. -
I have used itunes forever, Sunday night when I tried to get into the itunes store an error popped up and said could not open; error code (-3212), How do I get back into the itunes store?
Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
Can't Download Apps - Says 'Unknown Error has occurred(2001).'
I want to get a free app and every time I try to get a free or paid app, it gives me this crap:

Click on "sign in" at the top right of iTunes store
Fill in all the info and agree to the terms
Now it should work
I believe I perviously got the error because I mistakenly tried to download apps without having even signed in to iTunes properly.
