my iphone 4 will not turn on but when connected to the pc in itunes it says my device is in recovery mode and when i do SHIFT restore and select my ipsw it extracts then this 3914 error message appears. i normal restore then it this error message appears 1601. and my iphone is in RECOVERY mode. and holding the power button and the home button doesnt do anything my latops just makes a ding sound after 6seconds. When I had 10.6.8, itunes would have a left over amount in itunes apps, it would show you would have 8 apps that need to be updated. I would got to up date them and there would be no apps to up date. 2 days later I would go to up date apps and it would show I have 15 apps to update when I really have 6 then it would add on more invisable apps to which is not there. There is a bug in itunes that needs to be fixed please fix this app section. I have sent letters about this before and you did not listen. I a beta tester and I hate it when my requests don't get fixed.
You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.

I am having the same issue. I just had the battery replaced at a third party store. The battery powers the ipod up but it needs to be restored. It is saying it isn't eligible for rebuild. If you made a backup before you restored it you can restore your iPhone from a backup and your game data should be restored. When you connect your iPhone in iTunes you can right click on it in the sidebar and select restore from backup.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

i was trying to restore my itouch because it showed on my itouch the itunes bar on top and the charger on bottom so i went on itunes and when i pressed "restore" and then pressed "restore and update", another sign popped up saying "The ipod "ipod" could not be restored. The disk you are attempting is full. Removing files and empty the recycle bin will free up additional space. What do I do?!?!?! please help me ASAP

I did disable the security (AVG and Zone Alarm) when I tried on my own PC. My wife's laptop which eventually got it working also uses AVG and Zone Alarm but on an XP O/S whereas my PC is Vista - maybe this is why.
