The error you are getting is usually generated because of either you not being an administrator or having malware on your machine. Now if you can install other updates that makes it a little odd.
Try the steps in this Microsoft KB just to rule them out as the problem.

If your Mac has been installing software updates for a long time, Software Update is probably frozen. Hold the Power button until your MacBook Air turns off, and turn it on again. OS X should start up. -

I've spent 6 hours trying to update my iPad, and it doesn't work. It can't get past trying to back up, and just stops and gives an error code. I've deleted the backup, re-synced, and tried again and still no luck. What do I do now?
I am not running any antivirus software on my Mac, and I have the firewall shut off. Any other ideas? I have not problem downloading all other Apple software updates. I downloaded the latest iTunes software before starting the iPad update process.

When I try to connect the Air with my iPhone to create an Hotspot, it drops the connection and gives an error message in the iPhone saying that the device (MacBook Air) is not supported. What can i do about it?

As soon as I keep the iPhone (iPhone 5) on the desk the network goes off and when I swipe it then only it starts searching for the network and get it in 30 seconds.
If someone is calling me during that time it says mobile is either switched off or outside the coverage area.

Last night i was downloading the new update for the Iphone4 on my laptop through Itunes. After the download was done, it was starting to install, and then an error came up and didnt get a chance to check it. Now my Iphone is stuck on the screen with the USB pointing to the Itunes Icon and wont do anything else. Any advice on how to get this fixed, or do i need to go to the Apple store and have them look at it.

why after Download updates for the lion 10.7 and I read the writing could not save any of the selected updates and I can't upgrade the software ?
The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down. Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
Reminder: create full backup before you upgrade OS

Unable to install update version 1.6.0.393 with error code 3 (Administrator privileges)
I am unable to update Creative Cloud to version 1.6.0.393. I am running Windows 7 Professional SP1 and have tried installing in administrator profile.
The message returned when attempting to start the update is:
Administrator privileges are required to continue with the installation.(Error code: 3)Didn't work for me....I have this same problem.
Tried all this stuff too:
"Installing Update" Error, Administrator Privileges are required to continue with the installation (Error Code 3)
I'm on a network as an admin, have tried opening it as an admin, set "always open as admin"....everything.

Lumia 720: Been installing update for the past two...

My Lumia 720 yesterday warned me that there isn't enough storage in the device, and I needed to free up or create some space. Even suggested I allow some item to be saved to the memory card by default. I chose to postpone the task , thnking I could sort the space issue out at a later time.
Shortly after that the phone reported that updates were ready to be installed, which I chose to do immediately (without first ensuring there was enough space in the device for updates).
My question now is, is it normal the phone has been unusable and seemingly updating (black screen alternates with rotating wheels display) since yesterday morning (18 hours now)? or should I be worried that there may be some sort of freeze or software/hardware failure? Please help.

When you can no longer wait, I suggest you leave the the battery goes flat and the phone shuts itself down. Then plug in the charger and cross all finger and toes. Many users have reported the phone starting again.

NEED URGENT HELP !!
I installed the updates for i photo as suggested by the software updates and then restarted as displayed on the screen for successful installation . But after the restart was done , the system again displayed a grey window that says to restart in different language. I'm worried and could not understand that why this is happening as i only update what mac recommended .Moreover , I'm new to mac book and therfor i'm finding few things difficult to understand. Error installing update in Premiere Pro CC 2014.2, error code U44M1I210
Tried several times to update Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 with the same error code U44M1I210. Tired to contact customer but their site is down.
Got the same Error. Previous I worked with a GTX 760, and was hoping to get it fixed with using a GTX 780 6GB. But just as you, didn't solve the Problem.
Usually I got the Problem solved, with exiting Premiere, restarting it, reset my Workspace. Then the Problem of having the bugged Workspace was gone. And also the Problem of the missing Video Tracks.
At the moment I started on a new Project. Pretty simple, with only a 21 second DV footage. And here I was switching tabs with my Browser, came back to the Project, and the Video Tracks were gone. I saved, closed Premiere, restated and the Video Tracks are still missing.
So I made a new Sequence, voilá the Video Tracks are there. Thus I need to copy and paste the Tracks onto the new Sequence.
But that is not really a solution!
I was on the Phone with Adobe, and on Chat, but they couldn't help me. They suggested to get a Tesla or Quadro Card, or at least a GPU that got confirmed as working on their page. I did that, but obviously, that is not the issue. -
My Hp printer/scanner C5280 used to work fine with my iMac with OS 10.6 but lately after doing the scan it doesn't seem to finish by putting the scan in either iPhoto or in pictures. I have all the latest sofware updates for both devices. The scanner does the "preview" scan right away and the copier works fine. Is there some setting I am overlooking?
Try using Image Capture, you will find it in your Applications folder. In either IC or the method you are using you can tell the application to scan to a destination. It will look similar to:
If you still have trouble give AppleCare a call or visit your local Apple Store Genius and they can walk you through it. Your problem may be the at you are not defining anything in the preview to be scanned, you do this by dragging the mouse over the area you want scanned and it will draw a box around it. Here is a screen shot that show's that.
