When I launch Firefox 5, two (2) windows open: the "What's New" window and a second window with the correct Home Page. How do I stop the "What's New window from opening when I launch Firefox 5?
Further: I'm running Windows XP.
This happens every time I open Firefox 5 and began just after I upgraded to 5.0.
Note: I've tried suggestions from the various posts in this forum from people who have similar problems, but with no luck. The problem still persists. Does anyone have any suggestions ??
hello, this might happen when firefox is not able to properly save preferences in its profile folder. please try this: Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and then click help [[Image:Help-29]] > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder". then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named '''user.js''' (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

You can open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: type in this command and press <Enter>
Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your external drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.

I am trying to download xfinity tv go app. I can not find it in my App Store and can not download it from the comcast website. All I get is a blank screen in the App Store. My Apple ID is associated with a Canadian address. How can I find the app?
Its possible the App is not available in the Canadian store if the link doesn't work for you.

First, your husband can create his own Apple ID via the web, computer, or iPad, if he hasn't already:

Next, he can sign out of the Apple services that are currently using your Apple ID on your old iPad, and sign in with his own.

I've recently formatted my 10.7.4 mountain lion MacBook from 2007. The hard drive is wiped and I think it deleted to OS too. How do I put the OS back on it?
Wiping the drive does indeed delete the OS. Try this -
Boot to the Lion (10.7.4 is Lion not Mountain Lion) recovery partition by restarting the computer and holding down the command and R keys during startup.
If this works, reinstall from here. You must be connected to the Internet to do this.
If this does not work, possibly because you reformatted the recovery partition as well, you will need to reinstall from your original disks (assuming it came with 10.6 or earlier.) Boot to the disk by holding down the C key during startup and run the installer.

Why didn't you remove all three prefs.js files?
You may have left one file prefs.js that is causing the problems.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

When I come into this page - the report renders ALL the data because the SQL is as follows

Its setup this way because I want all records returned if the user makes no selections BUT CLICKS the "GO" or "SEARCH" button.
I just don't all records rendered upon initial screen entry and without user having selection options....I.E initiate via a button.

Here is what you can do with out any hidden items.
on report condition select request = e1
and enter GO
Now when you hit the Go button which actually submits the page to perform the search right?
Now create a branch and redirect to same page and in REQUEST enter: GO (But make sure you are selecting when GO button clicked and make it first branch if you have any unconditional branches)
So the report will be seen by the user only when he hits the GO button from that screen.
Simple enough right?

How do I stop Safari (v. 6.0) from opening previous tabs every time I start it?
Each time I open Safari it opens all the tabs from my previous session. I've looked at every setting I can think of but can't find one that will stop this from happening. What am I missing? Is anyone else also having this problem and if so, what did you do to correct it?
And ofcourse I found the answer as soon as I posted the question (doesn't it always happen that way?). I went to Preferences - General - and checked the box "Close windows when quitting an application".

i went on vacation and got wifi there....i came home last night and saw that i could not get any messages from my textnow or get on youtube or skype or facebook or anything that includes wifi....ive tried everything including turning it off, turning my wifi off, trying to join a new network, not using it for a day, everything!!! nothing will work for me!!! im wondering if it has to do with more than one devise on our wifi...we only have two ipod touches and a ps3....any advise?? i would appreciate it....THANKS!!!
The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos. I changed one of my contacts phone number, but when I start a new text message their old phone number appears along with their new number. I have checked my contact information and only their new number is in there.

When I try to re-install an app that I have already bought it gives me a message
the app will be available for downloads when you sign in to the itune store on your computer.
I'm on the computer, signed in and I don't see where to get the downloads.JUst experienced the exact same problem after changing password.Getting same message. Hope someone has an answer for this.

The browser.search.openintab pref applies to the (Google) search bar on the Navigation Toolbar and not to search bars on web pages.
