anyone help pleaseI had this issue too, the suggestions were to set the time to automatically, to reboot the device, to reset the wifi router - nothing helped. i have an internet connection but when i open app store it shows error message "cannot connect to app store".when i try to sign in with my valid apple ID and password it says "connection failed".i tried keychain access settings but it did not help.please help me!!
Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.
Make sure the Firewall is turned off. -

Efter att ha försökt att använda annat wifi fick jag samma problem dvs. kunde fortfarande inte göra uppdatering av mina appar. Jag prövade att ta bort flera stycken av dessa men det var ingen skillnad. På resa med ytterligare ett annat wifi lyckades det helt plösligt, vet inte varför. Får se om det blir samma problem nästa gång jag blir uppmanad att uppdatera appar.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Hi, I am new to apple world. My i pad is showing me a message "cannot connect to App store". It is however connected to wifi. please assist??
1. Make sure iPad is using the latest software
2. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
3. Make sure Time Zone is correct
4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo. -

My app store won't work on my iPod Touch 4gen running on ios 6.1.5 and when I open app store it says "cannot connect to iTunes Store" i shut my ipod down and turned it back on but it still dosn't work but it will open on my Mac Book Air. FYI - I just did a full wipe out and set up as new device, and the problem got solved.... But obviously it was a pain in the butt to download all the purchased apps back... This seems to be the only way to go about it... :(

Some of the applications on my iPad cannot be updated because the iPad cannot connect to App Store
I don't understand why the applications I have on my iPad don't get updated. Every time I choose Update All, there appears a message saying CANNOT CONNECT TO APP STORE. Is there any problem between my iPad and the App Store or is there any problem with the App Store itself?

You need to go to Date & Time and change the date ahead more than a year. Then try and then you can change the date back.

this will sound odd... but make sure your time zone is set correctly.... SETTING, GENERAL, DATE & TIME and make sure SET AUTOMATICALLY is turned ON... i had a similar problem and this fixed it.... good luck
