When I load sites such as ESPN it loads the headlines and news from weeks ago. I've cleared my cache, history, cookies, and it did not fix the issue.

When I visit sites such as ESPN where the news and headlines change daily or even hourly for some reason my browser loads the site from a few days ago. I try to refresh the page but that does not fix the problem. I have cleared all history, cache, etc... that did not work. I added a ? to the end of the URL and that loaded a different page but still not the current new head lines. It's almost like it is stuck with the info from a previous visit.

# search for the site in the filter
# click "Forget this site"
# Restart Firefox
# Open the site and see if the headlines change :-)

I am troubleshooting an issue occurring on a family member's pc. Immediately after changing their "search" settings from "Yahoo search" to "Google search", they found that Firefox was unable to load any webpages. Also, I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox; the issue persists. Since the update to v32 pages will not load in my browser without moving my mouse around the screen! I have already reset firefox. This did not fix the issue.

the details are pretty much the same as the question. I cannot get any content to load without wiggling my mouse across the page that is trying to load. The busy circle just spins and spins but nothing loads without moving the mouse.

1.0.1 did NOT fix problem when playing music while web surfing

Love the phone, but am quite annoyed by this problem.

I can only provide anecdotal experience, but prior to the 1.0.1 update, I was rarely able to surf on Safari (as opposed to surfin' safari) for more than 5-10 minutes without the iPod portion crashing. Pages with heavy javascript or forms to fill in seemed to hasten the process.
After the update, I fired up the iPod alter-ego then surfed for 30 or so minutes, spent a lot of time in the Apple Discussions (which always crashed it) and had nary a crash.
Again, only anecdotal, but I was feeling like this bug is much better now.

I don't see any web site when I connect to firefox but I can't uninstall the program because it says that I must close firefox first. I can't do that because it did not show the page.

I just upgraded to firefox 6 and it did not include the add ons. It said that the add ons were out of date. When I try to open yahoo.com I don't have any site to see. I can open chrome browser and IE without any problem. Before this new problem I was having a problem with firefox taking a long time to open. I have no problem with the other browsers.

As stated in the question, I've tried various troubleshooting options found in the help area and on different forums, non of them helped. I tried starting in safe mode and cleared my history, cookies, and cache using the everything option. When I try to load any google related site I get an untrusted connection. While most of these is accompanied by "i understand the risks" and allow me to add it as an exception, gmail does not. Is there a way to stop this from happening, either by giving me the actual certificate for the site or telling me a way to remove this property from firefox?

Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
Check out why the site is untrusted and click "Technical Details to expand this section.<br>If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If <b>"I Understand the Risks"</b> is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
*Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
*Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate.

Did you buy your machine second-hand? That's really the only way you would have to purchase OS X 10.8.x from the App Store... but, yes, if you have a USB thumb drive with a bootable installer (such as made with Lion DiskMaker) you can boot from that and reinstall OS X.

I recently updated my IOS software on my IPAD with the latest version and now video from some sites does not run. I did not do the update on my other IPAD and the video runs fine. Any idea why.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Have you been able to access the internet previously and now it's suddenly not working, or are you still trying to access the internet for the first time on your iPad? Are you at home trying to connect through your home router? If you are at home, did you put your home routers encryption code as your password? The encryption code is what your iPad is looking for and it is usually found on the router and is typically a 13 digit combination of letters and numbers. Let us know......

Due to NAS issues, when I started a new time machine backup it did not have the old backups available. My question is do I need to delete them or will time machine automatically reclaim the space? Only one Sparse Bundle, same name.

There is only one sparse bundle but when I enter time machine I don't see my historic backups. I use a synology DS212 for my time machine. Started a new backup which is 218gb but it says 618 gb is occupied therefore it looks like 2 or 3 backups are still on the disk. Before my NAS issues the last backup was in 2014. As you can see there is a second sparse bundle from 2012. Not sure what that is.

This is an old message now, but what happened to me similarly was:
I had a major computer crash and through complicated pathways ended up reinstalling (Mavericks) as a new user (long story).
At least I had good Time Machine backups on an NAS drive (Synology DS212j), or so I thought - when I started Time Machine up again, the old backup file was gone, replaced by a new one using my "new computer" name. The old file was gone both by directly mounting the NAS drive and by clicking "Enter Time Machine".
It's like I had {OldShareName}.sparsebundle and then it was replaced by {NewShareName}.sparsebundle, all of the old info vanished.
(I have spent a week finding old files elsewhere and have completed a satisfactory self-restore. It pays to "archive" [my own variation of] as well as "back-up".)
My belief is that if this were a wired-netword-drive, e.g. plugged right into my iMac with a USB cable, then the old file would have remained.
But this is an NAS drive, connected directly to my Airport wireless router, and I don't know the significance of the fact that it stores its Time Machine backups as "sparsebundle" files rather than simply as plain(er) files.
As usual when things get complicated with computers (not just Apple computers) there was never a warning message. Something like "YOU'RE ABOUT TO DELETE A TIME MACHINE BACK-UP FILE!!!" would have made my life a lot simpler.
BTW, I did try a "restore from Time Machine" option the first thing I had my "new computer" (old hardware, 2009 iMac) up and running, using Migration Assistant, and it ran for many hours and then failed in the wee hours - what that has to do with anything I'm not sure.
I'm not sure that I have a question about this other than "why do these things happen to me?", but it's a warning. Apart from that I've been very happy with the stability and reliability (but not the cost or set-up complexity) of NAS vs. directly-cabled external drives.

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.
