When I log in on my macbook, my mouse doesn't work

A couple of days ago I turned on my computer, and there was another profile, labeled "Guest Account" next to my name. My mouse will move around, but will not click on anything. In order to log in, I have to start typing my name, and then hit enter to select my profile. Once I am logged in, my mouse works just fine.
I did not tell it to activate the "guess account", and it wont let me turn it off. I also dont know why my mouse randomly chooses not to click while Im on this screen.
I am running OS Lion.
Any thoughts?

When reinstalling OS X with install disk, wireless mouse doesn't work

I have an unusual problem: My iMAC G5 hard drive died and I installed a replacement disk. Now, I am trying to reinstall OS X 10.3 with the help of my original install CDs that came with the iMAC.
Unfortunately, my wireless mighty mouse doesn't react anymore and I cannot proceed with the installation through keyboard commands alone. I get stuck at the first install window where the system asks for the operating system language.
I am clueless how to proceed since I don't have access to any utilities to test or connect the mouse because OS X is not installed yet. I tested the mouse on another Mac and it works. Any clues? Thanks for your help.

OK, some more info.
I have re-installed os/x and applied all of the updates.
I have tried to migrate my existing accounts and the problem consistently manifests as below:
1. In a new user account, I can log in and use the keyboard then logout
2. If I log in to the migrated user account, the non-numeric keys on the keyboard do not work. If I then log out, and try to log in to another account on the same machine, the non-numeric keys continue not to work.
This would seem to suggest that as the profiles being migrated are on a machine with the same version of up to date OS/X, the issue lies with either the Macbook Pro (other people have also had keyboard problems) or with the migration assistant not working properly given that the current profiles work fine on another mac.
Any more ideas anyone?

Could be systems logs or some other system file growing.
Use OmniDiskSweeper or DaisyDisk to map what's being used.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. You may have to uninstall what you can, reboot and delete the named folders, then reinstall.

Specifically, you will want to take note of this section:
The headphones don't work
If your iPod's headphones don't work or have static or garbled audio, try connecting them to any other 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, like the one on your computer. If the issue with the headphones persists, replace them. For an iPod under warranty, you can order a replacement online. Otherwise, check out the cool headphones at the Apple Online Store. If the issue appears to be with the iPod, try resetting it. If that doesn't work, then restore iPod with the latest iPod software using iTunes 7 or later.

The troubleshooting steps detailed below may help get your iPhone's display to function.
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?Contact Apple Support.

All computers are personal computers, a PC though is also "non-Apple" in common usage.
Mac also is platform and OS.

I have the same problem. Basically when I try to manage my Apple ID I'm asked to answer my security questions. Only problem is I don't know the answers. I don't want to lock my account. I click "Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to......". I never recieve anything from apple though. I know the email is valid it's my work email I literally use it everyday. I've heard of people having to answer their security questions to purchase apps or music. I'd like to get this resolved before that happens to me.

Sometimes my screen starts to move on my iMac. It's like it's trying to turn the page and it gets off center and the mouse doesn't work when it happens. It usually lasts about 15 seconds or so and happens often.

Sometimes the screen on my imac starts to shake like it it trying to "go to the next page". When this happens it usually freezes up for 15 seconds or so and the mouse doesn't work.

Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod to see if that helps? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, work through each of the troubleshooting suggestions in this Apple support document as necessary.

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Nework Settings. You will have rejoin networks
- Go to Settings>Store and sign out of account and sign back ino
Do you have a very slow wif connection on the iPod?
Have you tied connecting to another network?

MacBook pro when windows 7 has startup problem and Mac os doesn't work

I installed windows 7 on my MacBook pro and it did work well. But now windows has a startup problem and "startup repair" couldn't solve it, so I can't use both Mac os and windows and my laptop has become completely useless. Any suggestion?

Reboot and hold down command-R at the sound of the chime, that should take you to the Lion recovery partition, if it does go to disk utility and see if you have an OSX partition at all.

Keyboard & mouse doesn't work when restarting from battery dying.

When my battery dies, I go to put it back on the charger. Once it is done loading the main log on screen, neither the keyboard or mouse won't work for a good minute or so. Once the screen turns black, then comes back, it works. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try plug an usb keyboard and a usb mouse. If the problem persists, you may reset the SMC and nvidia/PRAM memory.
If that doesn't do it, run the Apple Hardware Test .

Can't log in to account. My password doesn't work.

TB opens, can read mail but can not delete mail. TB keeps asking for my gmail password, which I enter but TB will not open. Have been trying for several day to open TB to no avail. TB says that a new password has been sent to my gmail account, however, it has never been received.

is the password working with Gmail in the browser?
try it now. I don't know if gmail will lock an account if you enter a wrong passwort too many times but you'll see when you log-on with the browser. have you gone through the instructions [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail here] ?

Macbook Pro trackpad doesn't work on word

My macbook pro mouse trackpad isn't working while I'm on microsoft word. It works on other application like safari but refuses to work on word. It still clicks and i can use the sidebar to move up and down pages but i am unable to slide down the page using two fingers.
